I love these views into the humans behind the racing drivers. I didn't know most of Andretti's pre-F1 story and this has given me a new level of respect for him. Forza Mario!
So glad Mario is still with us. A great driver with a good heart, who spawned many other great drivers with his surname.
4:41 Hope you're listening Alonso.
?
LOL
McLaren and Alonso fucked up. Even if Honda gave a poor engine, it isn't completely their fault. This is coming from a McLaren fan myself.
@@shiny9219 Basically Alonso (and McLaren) have destroyed any good connections with Honda. This led him to not getting a competitive ride for this year's Indy 500 with Andretti Autosport. Also it seems Alonso has pretty much burned all brides that could potentially lead to a competitive return to F1.
@@maxpower2377 Alonso didn't only burn the connection there. He Destroyed the relationship with Red Bull in 2009. When he insist on getting a short contract. Using Red Bull as a stop gap before joining Ferrari in 2010. Red Bull obviously feeling insulted by this, promote Sebastian Vettel instead
He burn the bridge with Ferrari in 2015 when he break the contract and go to McLaren.
Mario is awesome. What a great ambassador for the sport!
An absolute Legend...
Happy birthday man!
Cheers!!
Man I sure do miss Nazareth Speedway. I could hear the cars from my house. Happy Birthday Champ.
I've always been a fan of Mario Andretti. I was a little kid back then, so I could be proud of my name. When people hear my name nowadays, they think about an irritating plumber with a moustache and a brother called Luigi.
But seriously, this man could race everything with four wheels, an engine and a steering wheel and he 'd win.
He was in a refugee camp, never knew that
A fantastic men, a legend
One of the best racers ever love you mario
Happy Birthday Legend!
Also here is a Shameless plug, *_GO HONDA!_*
those kinda videos r so inspiring, every time I watch them I feel like I can do anything. Be great out there, we don't have so much time.
Auguri Mario. I hope to see also "A letter to my younger self" with Arturo Merzario on this channel one day.
The hero who helped saveing Niki Lauda? Yeah!
And also with a lot of victories in sports car championship (forerunner of WEC) with Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. Second at Le Mans in 1973 and at the 1000 km of Nürburgring with Ferrari. Third at Daytona 24h, winner at the 1000km of Monza and at Targa Florio

Happy birthday Mario. One of the best racers of all time.
Along with Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti is certainly the likeable and most authentic man in the history of motorsport. His modest origins certainly have a lot to do with it. Long life to his person.

My Dad's, and subsequently my favorite driver. We got to meet him at a tire shop in Prescott Valley, AZ just a couple of years before my dad died. Great day!

Mario never celebrated his world Championship. There is no donuts, wild celebrations with his loved ones.
He just went home and hoping his teammate will survive to see the team success

As an italian, i say, he's half italian and half american

I love everything Mario said.
This reminds a lot of Player's Tribune. Nice.
when a dude wins the Indianapolis 500, The Daytona 500, multiple Indycar championships, AND THEN, wins the greatest open wheel world championship in Formula One ALL IN the span of a dozen years! Well, it means the guys a serious gangster
