Looking great so far, the 599 has to be one of my favorite Ferraris. Tried one of these kits myself years ago when I was first getting into the hobby, it may be time to try finding another to give it a proper build.
I see you like aftermarket PE parts and modding kits. I have a kit suggestion which you could spruce up to your hearts content with PE parts, ignition wiring and any other mod you want to add: Union Porsche 917k Daytona version. It has a TON of parts, has several inaccuracies and would greatly benefit from some aftermarket additions. But it's an awesome car and would look amazing in your display case. I have that very kit in my collection for a hopefully soon future build. Good work dude with the PE! Methodical and patient. Cheers.
i have this model kit i purchased at the hobby shop. kind of sad to that the engine doesnt have any belts and pulleys. I will adding the belts pulleys form left over parts from my Tamiya enzo model kit.
Just got the interior wrapped up, it turned out better than the engine and chassis. Hoping to get the editing and voice over done later tonight after everyone goes to bed.
I'd hold up on praising Revell until you go to put that flat chassis panel under the body. That's where Revell really turns around and bites you. Me and the R8 had ... a disagreement. Yeah all that beautiful detail and Revell hides it every time. Have you built the Porsche 918 yet? You don't even get to see the engine cover on it. Bring a trailer is a go to for reference photos but even there there are very few and they are just camera pointed at a big plastic sheet, there's just not much worth referencing on this car.
I've built two of the 918s. I shave down the chassis until they fit. I've got into the habit of test fitting and mocking up anything other than Tamiya kits.
Yup. I bought a 3D file for an engine and transmission for a Dodge Viper off cults. It's originally modeled to 1/10th scale. He advised to print at 40% size for 1/25. It's still too big. So I'm gonna use the kit engine in the car, and make a display stand for the 3D engine and trans to sit next to it. Glad I did the test fitting.
