A remake of the Melegorm 2007 version, and a very long song - a minute shorter than Aja. Cathy Berberian wanders throughout the montage, looking for roulades to sing (or eat?)
I played this album, "Countdown To Ecstasy," obsessively in the late summer of 1973, so it was a thrill to hear Becker & Fagen perform 5 songs from it at their Troutdale, Oregon Edgefield Amphitheater concert on Aug. 13, 2013. "Your Gold Teeth" was the show opener!
I always felt it had a Latin Jazz feel to it, maybe the electric piano had echoes of things coming out of Lat.Am. at the time. A great song, did not remember it being so lengthy. Only Glamour Profession and Aja are longer, if memory serves.
@@Morcaiden I've always thought that the bridge in "Your Gold Teeth" ("Tobacco they grow in Peking" at 2:17) would have fit like a glove in their 1977 magnum opus, "Aja," which was the 2nd song on their setlist that August evening in Troutdale, Oregon.
I have always loved your vides. But the internet is a lot faster now and you can use Hi rez photos to make them better. Just saying. Everything looks blurry. I think I've been watching your vids since the dawn of youtube. Love this tune. What a groove.
