As a boy I used to go down on the sand and dig bait the old fashioned way with a spade, how times have changed!. I used to go shrimping as well. We also had laylines which we baited with lugworm which to catch fish, catching a cod or two was a treat!. As a kid growing up at Dungeness I always found something to do to earn a bit of money. I was so lucky to grow up there. The place had its hardships for sure but it was fun. I travel the world now but I still regard Dungeness as home.
