Hi Simon was tempted to take the lucky photo but did not want it burning into either my pocket or the car seat 😂 a pretty good day wind apart. The wind was absolutely ridiculous although we did catch a fish every cast shame no more bass but a good time out in wild weather. Hi Richard could not quite believe it and we nearly went home as the wind was screaming along at 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and Andy had a bit of a grump as his rod was blown over and broke one of the ceramic rings. He did start smiling again as he caught fish. Derek bless him was so happy to have caught something and he is a really nice fellow. Am of to Hythe this Saturday by the swimming pool which I have never been to. Cheers Paul 👍👍

That's a bit better! When I first fished at Dungeness my long paternoster rigs (which worked perfectly locally ) were useless at Dungeness. It pays to experiment and see what works best. I remember those days of lights along the beach as far as the eye could see!😂😊😊😊
Hi Kerry that puts us in a certain age bracket that we can remember Tilley lamps as far as the eye could see. Even during the day at any time of the week beach busy with fisherfolk chasing the elusive 20 to go with there chips. Friday nearly unfishable with the wind but got some small shelter by fishing the boat section and fortunately had a few bites to remind me that there are some fish in the sea 😂take care cheers Paul

Yes it was the Friday and as you know blowing a right old hoolie and really peeved as looked forward to fishing there all week. However a few fish caught so not all bad. How did you do ? Cheers Paul

Goodness Tilley lamps remember them well and saved up to buy one and made such a difference to night fishing and threw off a bit of heat as well. Palaver to spark up with meths in the wind lol. Then along came Coleman with self igniters and now leds. I still have my old lamp and will give it an airing. Really mad crazy evening with wind and fish hurling themselves onto the hooks but a great crack cheers Paul👍👍🐠🐠
Fantastic vid as always Paul , and well done to Derek on his first fish and first bass , I was at dungeness yesterday with my brother and a couple of pals , loads of whiting which is all I have ever seem to catch apart from a flounder i had down at minnis bay , but my brother had his 1st dog fish and bass , I was over the moon for him , I haven't been sea fishing long and don't get out and fish as much as I'd like due to family commitments , your vids fill the fishing void in-between my fishing trips , so keep them coming , all the best and be lucky 👍 🎣

Hi James it was one of those will we or won’t we fish moments as it was so windy to make it nearly unfishable but we got some shelter by moving round the point at Dungeness. Feel for you up there but you have some beautiful countryside and wild beaches cheers Paul 👍👍🐠🐠

Hi John, thanks for the sub much appreciated. I have always used 13ft beachcasters through out my fishing life and have owned a few of the well known brands. Ross my fishing mate uses continental rods and always has as he is originally from Greece. So last Christmas I asked wife if she would get me a Vercelli 15ft rod which was at the budget end on the advice of Ross. I got and used it very happy but it was grey in colour and dull looking. I then was on the beach and saw a chap using a leery red rod and liked the colour. Now I know I should have based my choice on casting distance etc. but got one. It is a vercelli Enygma hammer and I got a rod set up for multipliers not fixed spool. Love it so much went and got another one to match. They get a lot of attention on the beach and seem to be getting quite a following as veals sell out as soon as they get them. They do come in 13 ft as well. Hope that helps cheers Paul 👍👍🐠🐠
