Taking the car to get from the zoo to the theme park was the most American thing ever! It’s literally a 5 minute walk 🤣

I had to drive elsewhere as soon as I left the park! If the parking hadn’t been free, I definitely would have walked instead. I also had anything I might need during the day in the trunk, so it was more convenient

@@ThemeParkTeeroy You don’t have to explain yourself. I didn’t want to make fun of you. Sorry! You made a great video and really captured to the essence of the park. I live not far from there and I’m glad you enjoyed it. The special thing about Tripsdrill is, that the old looking buildings there are an actual old village and the houses really are hundreds of years old. The theme park started with the miller of the village installing the long slide you took almost a hundred years ago. The fact that the park just organically grew from there makes it special to me. It just naturally sits in the beautiful surroundings.

I still remember it from my childhood some 30 years ago. Back then there has been only one rollercoaster, Rasender Tausendfüßler, and it had massive lines. Last time I went there they had the newly built rapids, everything else came later. When I was 9 we switched to Europa-Park, which of course is the far superior park, and has been even more so back then. Tripsdrill has been great as a little child, but once you developed an appreciation for mor thrilling rides it couldn't keep up. Nice to see that changed quite a bit.
By the way, I even remember the old entrance, which was right next to the windmill. You had to leave the park back then in order to get to the windmill slide and the surrounding attractions. And this has also been where the train used to depart, taking you over to the little zoo. But back then it wasn't a resort, you couldn't sleep there.

Back in the day you couldnt really notice, that it is a Themepark. A lot of trees and no really high buildings. Now its obvios but they do their very beat to blend everything in. Even form the Michaelsberg, the hill nearby with the church ontop, it does not really look like a park. We (local population) are very happy about the park beeing kept traditional and family friendly like that. It really gives you very homelike vibes and its not ruined by over-commercialisation.

In case you didn't find out by now: "Jungbrunnen" means "fountain of youth". So what you saw in there were old women bathing in the water of the fountain to get young again.
This theme resonates with the big slide you rode down on the carpet, the "Altweibermühle", the by far oldest attraction of this theme park, where it all started many decades ago: It was said that if old women rode that slide, they would feel young again at the end.

You'll never find such ground-level rides in the USA, as the operators would quickly be sued by people wondering why they suddenly have red welts on their hands because they touched a nearby branch or even the ground.

    • @nutzeeer
      @nutzeeer 6 месяцев назад +4

cant people sign away their right to sue upon entry?

    • @ulliulli
      @ulliulli 6 месяцев назад +31

@@nutzeeer Not really. According to German law, the operator must have done everything possible in advance to avoid (unforeseeable) accidents. That's why regulations in Germany are much stricter than in the USA, for example, where the motto tends to be: The operator only has to follow certain rules, but if something happens, the visitor can always make absurd claims for compensation if he suffers damage... It is therefore in the operator's own interest to avoid accidents.
In Germany, it's exactly the opposite. The regulations are extremely tight and strict and checks must be carried out and recorded at all times, because if something does happen, the first thing that is checked is WHAT caused it. If it is then established that the guest was an idiot, then there are no (or only very small) claims for compensation.
Let's assume that our RUclipsr here sprained his hand trying to touch the ground while riding the rollercoaster and is now suing the park. In Germany, experts or the court would first check whether the park complies with the regulations. And then whether the guest was negligent. Because the motto here is: An adult is an adult and should also take responsibility for his own (stupid) actions
Now let's assume that the court is of the opinion that the guest is only partly to blame, then the park could indeed be liable for damages... but the sum would be ridiculously low compared to the USA. Perhaps a few thousand euros, if that. It would then be examined whether there is a fundamental problem here and whether the regulations need to be adjusted or the operator needs to adjust the ride operation... or whether this is an "idiotic" individual case.

(mostly farmer and simple life clieshees) the animatronic have such a hardcore dialect that many germans from other regions barely understand. those things i´d assume are most appreciated by people of that region or even germans from really different parts of germany because they can barely understand but fathom how hard they go on the clishee dialect. I have been to Tripsdrill since I was a small child, when even the centepede (Tausendfüßler) coaster was not open yet. It was more like a big nature-half-reenactment-wine-culture park and over the years as I grew also the rides developed. But I still like the long slide in the Altweibermühle and the ride in the big bunnies and visiting the animatronics, although they seem kind of old fashioned.
I like the flair since I also come from a wine based rural background, it just felt like home.
One with a similar flair is Märchengarten and Blühendes Barock in Ludwigsburg, it is mostly for kids, but I still love it there as an adult.
Both are not a maxed-out in terms of superlatives, but to me as a local the flair is a big plus in both of those parks. The nature and the gardening is just lovable!

In those days the only rides where the slide you did on that doormat "Altweibermühle" and the newer "Altmännermühle" you showed at the end, where you balance on spinning and wobbeling things. The first "Mill with a Slide" was built there in the 1920s based on an old folk tale of a mill in the area that could mill old wives into young ones. ;-) The current one is from 1950 after the old one burned down a few years earlier.

I loved Tripsdrill when I was a kid. Unfortunately I didn’t visit for a long time now. It is special cause there are so many things to do besides rollercoasters that are just fun. I loved the attraction around the mill. you had to walk through a course to get to the mill slide.

I have been there once when the wheather wasn't perfect. It was cloudy, and every here and then it was raining slightly - and it was PERFECT!
There weren't too much people around and we literally had no waiting times & so much fun! This park is a clear recommendation from me, especially when the wheather isn't "perfect".

This Park is so good, their slogan "made with love" is absolutely true. It's a park where you just feel comfortable to be at. I've been there a few times already and every time I just fall in love with this park. Their line-up for a regional themepark is great.
Also 🤓 moment: Mammut is made by Cordes Holzbau, the company that manufactured Intamin Prefab Track, only the Trains are Gerstlauer.

100% agree, it’s such a charming place to be. There isn’t a bad ride in the park and you can just tell how much care goes into the landscaping and upkeep.
And I can’t believe you would expose my stupidity like that when I showcase how dumb I am just fine on my own in every video 🤓

  • @Ilikeflowers22

I went there once at like 8yo with a friend and i loved it so much.
Especially the Mammut. I was obsessed. I've been begging my mum to go there ever since, but it's kinda far away, so i still haven't been there since. It's been 12 years lol, i could probably go there on my own at this point
    This took me back

I love how they gave a theme to each ride and use these to tell a story at some of the queues. When you're progressing throught to the bathtub ride to the fountain of youth, they tell you the real story of how Leonardo Da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa and show the original painting. When he started painting, she was an old woman. As he wanted to present her his completed masterpice, It turned out, she went to the fountain of youth and was now in fact a young woman. So he had to start over and left the painting at tripsdrill.

My best friend took me there on my birthday and I was there for the first time as a 19 y/o and I had the time of my life haha
I used to go to europapark pretty often and I'm someone who goes onto every ride. Sure, this park isn't on the "europapark level", but there were like no crowds and the first two hours went by without standing in a single line.
So for someone with major anxiety, that's a way better experience than europapark, even tho I personally like the crazier rides there a little more, but I loved it still
(and I had a massive discount because It was my birthday which is also awesome)

10:30 the title above the map says "Visit our nature park" so it's probably meant as a sort of advert 😄 loved the videos, it was really nice seeing your reactions on the park that's like 20-30 minutes away from me, as a child I didn't really appreciate it but now I love the charm and especially the quirks and Easter eggs about Swabian culture (the region is in / greater area of Stuttgart) and it really feels like they put it all in there.
Maybe one well meant advice: the music in between the scenes is quite loud or Riege either a bit too fast paced, I'd advise you to turn down the volume a bit 😊 really enjoyed the videos and wishing you all the fun on your trip!!

Did ya know that there was a guy on germanies most popular TV show back in the day who drove the "G'sengte Sau" on his feet while holding a glass o' beer? There are newspaper articles in the waiting line sections about this. The concept of the show was also it's name: "Wetten, dass?" which loosely translates into: "I betcha" or something. The guy was betting that he could go through the whole ride attached to his roller blades on the trail and not spilling the beer to a certain marker in the beerglass. Legends say that he won that freakin' theang.

Fun fact three: I cant recount, how many bad injuries I have seen at the slide at the end😂😂. If you loose control and have short cloths you will have very bad burns😂. And the screeching noise the (buring) skin makes on the metal of the slide. I tell you, this is what nightmares are made of... But it is like the ride which started the whole park back in the day, so they will never close it.
