Do you really think he would listen? For grudge to last thing long means it has evolved into an obsession. The way he worded his plan over the phone call makes me think the guy gets a boner just thinking about getting a one up over someone else. This has become a matter of ego and pride for him and he will fight to the bitter end for it, if nothing else, for the satisfaction of getting a "win" over something or someone.
Makes sense he's desperate for a "win" because that's the one thing he probably never had in his goddamn life and that's why he had to resort to cheating to feel better about himself.

Yeah, but it's entirely deserved and he brought it on himself. He could have just continued to market his lame hot sauce and worked towards getting good at old arcade games again, but instead he chose to lie and cheat his way through life because he was so butthurt to not have the world record in something as unimpressive as Donkey Kong anymore.

I went to a Gears 2 tournament at some LAN center in Davie, FL and Billy walked in. I didn't interact with him but I watched him interact with the owner of the place. He seemed like the type that thought too highly of himself.

I'm into Mame quite a bit and the way he got caught was legit. Really clever how it was spotted and when you know how Mame works you can tell. There are videos on YT that explain it in detail, but it's boring if you not into Mame.

I find it incredible that Billy Mitchell has nothing else in his life apart from these so called "records". Dude will get to 90 years old, bald, false teeth a d still crying to anyone nearby of how incredible he is because of his donkey kong scores from decades ago and how he got screwed over. Funny thing is people will respond the same as they do now, they wouldnt care in the least if it's true or not and just want him to stop going on about it and get on with his life.
A little confusing about the phone call. Isn't he saying that he is going to record a legit world record but from 2 angles and then only send the game capture one and when people say it's fake he would send the angle of him doing it? Karl said that it was proof he is willing to fake tapes but that's not true right? It's like the 3rd time I've seen Karl claim something iffy.
I believe the plan was to send in a tape pretending it was one of his old records that people say he faked. He was hoping they would say it wasn't legit gameplay and then he'd prove it was legit by showing another tape of him actually playing
I read it as he was planning on recording a tape of him "playing" while the machine would just play back the previous fake record back from cassette.

I would like to introduce people to "Rubber Duck Debugging".
I am sure quite a few of you have heard of it. It is the practice from programming of explaining a problem or issue in detail _out loud_ (this is important). This can be done to a colleague, your cat....or a rubber duck sitting on your table.
Rubber ducks are excellent listeners, never interrupts, are patient and really loves details. :)
The thing is, we humans have a tendency to "skip a lot of steps", when thinking through a problem. it is just a consequence of how brains work.
Being forced to slow down, by speaking out loud to the rubber duck, means you really need to explain all the steps and details in your problem. This very often leads to the solution to the problem presenting it self.
Listening to Billy's conversation (and reading the transcript) is hilarious in that regard.
Notice how Billy's plan sort of peters out in the end? How it gets much less concrete and specific?
I think this is one of the first times Billy has articulated his plan out loud.....and he is no longer helped by the "short cuts" his brain (for lack of a better term) provides.
So, Billy.....Jace is "discredited", and then what? Everybody stands up and claps? You are declared the video gamer of the universe? Your previous fake records are all accepted?
