Thanks so much for watching! A lot of work went into this project so make sure to give Emma and Adam your support! We've already got another idea in mind for a future trio collaboration... ;) EDIT: The outro exported very poorly for some strange reason, but the usernames are @trumpetchallenges and @pocketrumpet!
Thank you so much...I played trumpet 1965 thru 1968 and began learning this piece at age 12, then went through 5 months of 7th grade he'll with the Band 'Teacher' and opted out or bluntly put, QUIT. SO! Your rendition of this is very VERY especial to me, a now worn out old Phart.
Thank you very much for your comment, Ray. I’m sorry to hear your trumpet playing career didn’t pan out but I’m glad to hear you enjoyed this rendition!
Bravo, you all did a great job! It's amazing that you were able to synchronize all of the parts so well on a fast piece like that. Even on a slower piece with a click track, it's incredibly difficult.
Played trumpet through middle school, high school, college, and some professional (easy on the some). Absolutely loved putting lips to mouth piece and played along with lots of Al Hirt, Maynard Ferguson, and "Good, Bad, and the Ugly". Sadly, life changes overcame me, and haven't played in about 40 years, and now, the lips are so far out of shape, doubt I'll ever pick the horn up again. Still, wanted to let you know what a joy it was to watch and listen to the three of you playing not only well, but with joy. New sub. Keep the great work coming, and never put down the horn!!!
Jason, thank you so much for the comment, the story, the encouragement. It’s truly heartwarming to hear that a video of mine has sparked something special in someone, especially someone who had a “past life” that was rich in music. Stories like this are the reason I maintain a presence online. I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed and have joined the club!

In memory of Leon Aronson, Montreal, Quebec, who passed away on October 18, 2024. Fond memories of Leon playing this at McGill's Faculty of Music when we were students there.
Nice job, just one criticism. I don’t think Leroy Anderson would appreciate the 1st trumpet player “hamming” it up with the trills, turns and slide up to the high C at the end. Try playing it straight, like it was meant to be.
An abridged section of a brass band tune I wrote called Herculean Horns! You can see a bunch of musicians premiere the full (20 seconds lol) thing here: ruclips.net/video/ybTAEfRdI6A/видео.html
At my old middle school, 3 *8th* graders played this for the spring concert this year. They're as good (if not better) than all our juniors, and my BE is having them exhibition at our HS solo and ensemble finals.
BTW I ran into thi neat video of Bugler's Holiday, the song we won the Stars of Tomorrow Show with including the sheet music. And we had every note of this memorized
just had to check my playback speed was normal and not 1.5. I'll have to play it back at .75 until i've got a couple of bars of the piano part sorted. Those offbeat accents are rather clever. It helps that i played 2nd or 3rd trumpet over 40 years ago at school.
POV Your hear listening to the song over because your high school band teacher give you this piece and has solo try out :( Great Piece though just really hard
It’s all about the abdominals! Not kidding, since my lungs are pretty small I have to focus on air power, rather than sheer quantity of air by compressing the abdominal muscles to put the air under more pressure. I figured it out by accident but it turns out that technique really helps with the high register and faster tonguing!
I’m sure I speak for the others as well as myself when I say it’s been a work in progress for years! Rafael Mendez used to say simply “there are no shortcuts to playing the trumpet.”
Love that one of the players was a woman! We need more women playing brass! (Sexism should never be in art). Well done on the video! You all sound amazing

played it at concert, very good memories..

It was certainly a challenge but a fun one!
Always a fun piece and nice job to you three.
And yes, I was double tonguing along.
You can't *not* sit there and go "da-ga-da-ga-da" as a trumpet player. It's in our blood. :)
Same here, several renditions of this I'm double tonguing along too!!
DIFFICULT PIECE !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this rendition! It sent my friends and I to state competitions and had us perform very well, thank you!!
Congratulations!! So glad that us three were able to help you!

You managed to get though it beautifully without me stuffing it up for you at home :) This is a really great idea, the split screens and so on.
Haha, thank you! Glad you enjoyed.
Wow!!!! That was brilliant!!! I'm out of breath now. And that's just from watching!
Haha, thanks so much!
Amazing job

Thanks! It really is a fun one no matter how many times you hear it.
This takes me back to Jr. High Grad in 1964 - love it

Oh, so nice! Love it! Greetings from an old trumpet player in Tucson!!

Hola suena genial!! Felicitaciones, sera que me puedas facilitar las partituras?? Gracias
I love this, but I can’t play it as fast as you guys - amazing 🤩 - how do I download this music, I’d like to try a trio with some orchestra friends 🙏
Thank you! The sheet music for this video came from Musescore if I remember correctly

Im playing this for a class 1 trio. Solo and ensemble.

Great Piece though just really hard
Awesome! Are you single tonguing or double tonguing the 16th notes?
If you find me a trumpet player who can single tongue 16ths at 165 bpm, I’ll be pretty amazed. Just about everyone double tongues at performance tempo
What lung power!
