Yuzheng has depth and knowledge of who is real and who is fake in business. Easily from his conversation with Mr Jiang and the accidental hearing of the conversation between Mr Lin and his townmate, he gut feeling is true. At the same time, he is very protective of his friend whom he considers his younger brother.

You are correct when you say he knew the girl way before his best friend met her. It was a chance encounter between Xiaosu and him when she passed out drunk in the rain as he was driving by. So when she tried to seduce him in the hotel after he kindly dropped her off, he immediately passed judgement on her as being some opportunist gold-digger who will throw herself at any wealthy man. The thing is she has absolutely no recollection of that night with him as she was drunk, so when he was giving the toast and he wanted to poor her a glass of wine and she refused saying she is allergic to alcohol, he immediately knew she was lying. It's also why he asked her how many times they had met and telling her he knew the kind of woman she is... he was alluding to that night.
Now this is proof of why people need to stay out of other people's business! My parents taught me that respect is a wonderful thing because it CAN be earned. Judging others via mere prejudice is very mean & thoughtless. Communication is a major factor that is lost here as well. Keeping secrets is never good because it hurts worse when it comes out later on. My family had no problem accepting my Ex because they had trust in my judgment & supported our relationship to let it develop whereas it was completely opposite with his family towards me: I was never given the opportunity for a proper introduction because of the color of my skin. Our relationship ended due to his cowardice...the end result of him "pleasing" his parents choice: he's divorced with many kids & unhappy whereas I am the complete opposite. Honesty is the best policy in a relationship, sharing concerns and pains. She empowered them to break them up and sacrificed her love for them out of cowardice, keeping Zhenrong in the dark. Their assumptions ultimately killed him and ruined their lives.
