In Order of Ecclesia, Shanoa and Albus meet 13 villagers who share the Belmont bloodline. By absorbing the Glyphs that Albus used to immobilize them, Shanoa was able to handle the final piece of the Dominus Glyph and absorbed a part of Albus's soul. Castlevania 64, Bloodlines, and Portrait of Ruin features Reinhart Schneider, John Morris, and Jonathan Morris - who were each related to the Belmonts even though not direct descendants of the bloodline. They fought Dracula in the Belmonts' stead between 1852 and 1944, until the demise of Dracula could take place as predicted in 1999. As for Nathan Graves and the Baldwin family featured in Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, it is unclear what their connection to the Belmonts might be, as Circle of the Moon was also left out of the final official Castlevania timeline.
Pretty sure the reason why the Belmonts couldn't touch the whip was because Nostradamus's prophecy _forbid_ them to wield it until the 1999 lunar eclipse which triggered the Demon Castle War happened. IMO Lords of Shadow retells the story much better than any Castlevania content ever did. Having the first Belmont become Dracula is an amazing twist, and explains why only his own bloodline can hurt him, it gives MUCH more importance to the Belmont name too. Story is so good it can legit replace the original story as the new canon. It brings more backstory to Dracula and makes you sympathize with him and understand that his existence since birth was to suffer thoroughly. The famous "What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets." quote from SotN was not only repeated in LoS, but by watching and hearing about Gabriel's life story it makes a lot of sense why he would say that as he was lied to by everyone he has ever came across.

Sonia can't be Trevor's daughter if Legends was stated to have happened in 1450 while Dracula's Curse was in 1476.
Netflix!Trevor may have already referred to Sonia as the female Belmont that knocked down a castle.
Then again, Trevor and Sypha could have named their baby Sonia so whatever I guess....
Please explain:
Why did they make the Vampire Killer and the Morning Star two different weapons? Wasn't the Morning Star (chain whip) an upgrade to the Vampire Killer (leather whip)?
They should continue with the Victor character. A hunter who is of Dracula and Belmont blood would be dope. But I noticed they didn't mention Lords of Shadow.
Non-igavania games, that is games not done by Koji Igarashi, aren't considered cannon partially because they re-wrote parts of the origin story so I am not surprised it's not covered.
“Somehow Dracula returned” 😂
You didn't get the Sonia Belmont and Victor Belmont story correct at all.
Sonia Belmont is mother of Trevor Belmont from the GB game though that probably got reconned which even the animation is not canon to the games at all. Victor wasn't even Sonia's son and actually was a time traveler from the future of 19th century and was transported back in past in 1666 though given more details were scrapped but mentions in the draft are still present of what I just said.
So yeah, Sonia really needs a better story though as long as Iga somehow agrees to it.😔
This RUclipsr gets the whole story all wrong with Sonia Belmont and Victor Belmont. 😑
I have a few questions related to Castlevania Francise if anyone knows the answer would be nice.
Is a new canon story/characters still being written/added after Julius or it will be the end?
Not sure how the Castlevania Francise rights goes. Since it is coming from a video games, is the rights held by a company instead of a single writer? Means it can be sold to another company or they could just agree to add more to the story maybe more alternate universe?
@@footballfan5048 If you're talking about Julius it ends there in the Igavania universe.
However if talking about "Castlevania Grimoire of Souls" is a dimension that links different Castlevania universes which another version of Dracula still remains then then completed Igavania timeline. I know there's the Akavania Timeline universe which I am only guessing Hitoshi Akamatsu since he was a teacher on art for developers making the game. So simply he's highly involve in the beginning of Castlevania's Vampire Killer for the MSX2 as well as the entire franchise.
However fans are trying to find a better way to fit a story for Sonia Belmont and have that universe so it's not just Male Belmonts only which is Koji Igarashi vision universe(Igavania).
So that is all the information I can give to you.
@@dragtogo2735 So is these guys also work on the team for the Netflix series. The Trevor Castlevania and Nocturne?
I notice definitely there's some change between Trevor and Nocturne. Nocturne is more anime like, pacing looks faster, there's a fight in the end of every chapters. I personally like the Trevor one better. It's more polished. The animation is definitely more polished, lesser amount of actions but the choreography on those fights is on a whole another level than Nocturne. Making them iconic and memorable. Nocturne doesn't have those memorable fights only the events that is memorable.
Symphony of the night was the second one i ever played after Nintendo. I spent hrs playing both castles and finding everything i could and playing over and over. My favorite from a not so far away memory. 20+ years ago now
Even though I'm old school I didn't play the old games... Right now I'm plowing through all the "Metroidvania" titles ,presently in the middle of Portrait of Ruin😏... My point is this story has gotten new life with the Netflix series and as an old school gamer, I'M ALL FOR IT😉🇹🇹✌
I love Castlevania and the Belmont but too bad Nathan Graves (Castlevania: Circle of the Moon), Victor Belmont ( Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2) and Jonathan Morris (Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin) aren't on the list for there not related, non-canon and from an alternative timeline.
Jonathan is canon though, he's the son of John Morris. They're distant relatives of the Belmonts and the ones who inherited the Vampire Killer after the Belmonts lost their power.
Epic video as always!😎👊
All-time favorite Nintendo games!!
This deserve a movie
It already exists: it's called _Van Helsing._
Finally a show that was made for the lovers of the original games.
Love this family
This isn't accurate ...Sonia was expelled from the lore years ago
Sonia and Victor should have gotten their title. In other words they should have been in Resurrection for the Dreamcast.
I think Konami needs to remake Castlevania 1, Castlevania 2, Castlevania 3, Castlevania 4 and remastered Castlevania: Lament of Innocence and Castlevania: Curse of Darkness
One would think that at some point Dracula would learn not to fuck with the Belmonts.
They really need to properlly reboot the series. Don't get me wrong, I love it. But if you go buy the original series lore you got alucard taking over a alies as a japanese guy in a suit. The actual reboot was ok, but if anything they can make the games on off the netflix anime maybe?
adi shankar in the interview he liking original game like potrait of ruin and aria of sorrow, so after richter belmont story end, be prepared with ARIKADO (alucard disguised in suit) and the story gonna take place in japan, thats gonna happen
Agreed. Using the anime lore would clean up everything.
Great video guys!
Nobody would even be better than Trevor to me like why did we skip 300 years
What do you mean? Trevor’s story was done
because there isnt anything that is written on that span of 300 years thats why there is an skip? unless they decided to create another belmont which have lived on that time before trevors timeline
@@drei1194 they could have done a prequel with Leon Belmont or the next Belmont in line after Trevor which is Simon Belmont.
They missed out Making a Leon movie but rondo's blood is like the 2nd most popular game in the franchise (i want more juste hes so goated)
I agree the first Belmont too defeat Dracula 😎
Not James and fuhad talking about this on yesterday's episode and me seeing a video essay on it today😅
So, will there be any mini-movies featuring some of the other Belmonts, or will they be featured in this Nocturne series?!
I remember Simon Belmont from "Captain N The Game Master"
Simon is the goat we need his story in the Netflix series
Definitely!!!!!!!
I really wish they made a live action movie back in the 80s.
Could you guys make a video about Castlevania lords of shadow Family tree
That would make Alucard a Belmont. Alucard Belmont has a ring to it. I sympathize with Dracula in the Netflix series. Human needed to die for killing his wife. The one time he decided to be not evil, humans decided he should stay evil.
@@mrdude88 in LoS, Alucard is actually Trevor Belmont. They didnt know they were father and son until Gabriel brings death to Trevor's doorstep, and when he found out he had no other option to save Trevor than to feed him his own blood.
@@eurostar0711 for me LOS do a better job too, but original fans dont like it as action game, maybe if LOS develope as metroidvania it will be massive succes
Informative, thanks for posting.
I feel like they did Sonia Belmont dirty. Her character design looked interesting.
lol he said she was important. she actually asked him to come along knowing how dangerous and difficult it would be to go alone. hence why she sent her son back. she needed help
I cant believe how horrible Nocturne is. Breaks my heart because i loved The first series. 😢
Oh cry me a river. Nocturne was dope
What about Gabriel Belmont in Lords of Shadow?
He’s non canon.
First the Castlevania video game on Nintendo then Captain N a cartoon back in the 90s now the Netflix series.
why did the writers make richter's mother the belmont parent? it doesn't make sense because a family name only passes down through male heirs
The only explanation for that I can give you to my knowledge is that, I guess the father just didn’t have a family name.
@roguewolf8545 that's the problem. It would mean that netflix's richter isn't even a Belmont since he couldn't inherit the name from his father
Or maybe they just chose to give him his mothers name anyway. It isnt that crazy
@@tanzilh5526 people in the past have many children and 300 years have past since Trevor times, of course Belmont are becoming huge clan and cousin marriage is common. Richter is too prodigious to be the son of a nobody
@protocetus499 all I'm saying is richter should inherit his father's last name just like everyone else in the world
From the beginning I have always wondered who are the Belmonts that don't get to fight Dracula in the 100 years cycles. Because the Belmonts that are known are the ones that are aiive in the times in which Dracula is resurrected.
I like to imagine that they continue to train and teach each succeeding generation as well as kill more vampires and other creatures of the night. Also they add more artifacts and knowledge to the Belmont underground sanctuary/library/museum. Well that's just me.
I’m so excited for season two
I hated the way they made Richter look in the new series. Leon Trevor and the others must be turning over in their graves.
Trever had 3 children. Ann who married into the Morris clan, Mary and Frederick.
You guys REEEEAALLY have to read through these AI scripts before you start doing the VO work....
the voice is so bad
For those wondering Richter is The great grandson of Simon
That’s why I like Lords of Shadow, Belmont is evil in that one.
In the original CV3 manual, Grant is listed as "Grant D'nasty". Its a play on words for Grant the Nasty. Pronouced like Da Nasty,l
This Castlevania time should Netflix follows for fans not disappointed for the story in animated series is different
So confused by the detailed description of the Julia Belmon'ts outfit. Why was that important to describe for this character, but not for others?
Probably because shes not in the games and theres not much to elaborate on her character, after all shes 🪦
Wow been a fan of CastleVania for years an just realized my favorite character Alucard is Dracula spelled backwards 😅😂😅
Capcom dropped the ball when they did not follow the same concept with Onimusha
Huge fan of this
Trevor is my favorite
richter belmont is 320 years apart from trevor belmont
18:55 “Area of Sorrow” lmao
Now I have a question. Simon Belmont is the son of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades. He beat Dracula not once but twice. If Juste and Richer got magic from Sypha, how in the hell Simon never had that power of magic?
He has magic power inside him, but he doesn't know how to use it or nobody ever tell him or teach him.
2:15 they fought Lex Luther as well?
I wouldn't call nocturne a spinoff. It still part of the Belmont clan.
How old do u guys think that wip is 😅
describing julia’s outfit??? for what????? lmfaooo… otherwise super informative, thanks!!
what about Gaberial Belmont aka Dracula and Trevor Bellmont aka Alucard. kinda root of the whole saga
he from different universe
don't know about that, because lords of shadow 1&2 and mirror of fate lead driectly into symphony of the night. on top of that I haven't seen anything by capcom to say those games are not cannon@@Aripuni1
It's a completely different continuity from Symphony of the Night
@@XristoferLee Lords of Shadow is non-canon. They're attempted reboots of the entire series The game that leads directly into Symphony of the Night is Rondo of Blood.
So there's Lords of Shadow-verse. Proper Castlevania Iga-verse. And then we have Netflix-verse which is loosely adapted from Proper Castlevania Iga-verse.
Series is great I like allowed new characters flourish spoiler before Alucard arrives
Sounds similar to the Herondale family but have no complaints. I want to see a crossover with Shadowhunters and Castlevania.
So no mention of Gabriel Belmont? The reboot series isn't canon?
I just finished watching the last episode of nocturn and...well I'm so dumb. I honestly thought the mc guy was the younger version of Trevor Belmont but no..they're two different people😭. When Alcurd showed up on the last episode I was confused of why he was soooo white. But at least there's going to be a 2nd season. Probably next year tho
Yea lords of shadow 1 has the best origin story
Make a live action Movie on Castlevania and Cast Keanu Reeves as Dracula!
That would be ironic considering his role as Jonathan Harker in the Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation of Dracula. Not sure it would work with Keanu Reeves in the role though.
I played only a few growing up. So not as familiar as much I wish.
I cant wait castlevania nocturne season 2 is year where alucard salved and curred a tera renald for transformation vampire and resurrected mother of ritcher belmont: julia belmont. ❤❤❤👌👌👌😉😉😉
Can't wait for you all to cover the Morris and Lecarde families!
My guy we need Sonyia next 😂I NEED a badarse female Belmont 😂😂also love how they’re talked about as hero when the series they are potrayed as protagonist if antiheros who equally dole out justice not just against vampires rubs me a little better than some self righteous night walking around saving pretty damsels though most women in the franchise are extremely captivating characters or have the potential to be 🙄
We need another 2d castlevania.
The shows are great nocture was a little too woke but still good
What about gabriel belmont..no one talks about him I thought he was the first..
Sir, you mentioned the alternate verse of the belmont clan in castlevania series. So why is it that Gabriel Belmont ( a.k.a Dracula ) was not included. He maybe came from another castlevania universe as Dracula's origin but he's still a Belmont after all. At least you may have included a little bit of his story about him in your vlog.
plus alucard too his a belmont too didn't you know?
@@yihunlikim4683 right that his also Trevor before becoming Alucard.
castlevania new ep we. Need first anime and new 2023. By the way at end first castlevania we get left of clif hanger new 2023 Trevor Belmont we need see him old
So he explains simon but doesn’t say if trevor is his grandpa or dad or great great great granpa lol
What about gabriel belmont?
where is Gabriel Belmont?????
seems like simon was him. He don't fit the belmont image
We can see what clothes Julia weares in your video. You cloud have just skipped Julia if you didnt have useful info on her
Dude, why did you spend two minutes to describe Julia's looks but not her son?
Completely remaster every game for PC or I'm coming
Okay so wait is Gabriel Belmont not canon to the Castlevania verse?
The Lord of Shadows series is an alternate retelling of Castlevaina that is separate from the main continuity.
@@Andrew-Bastin okay thanks I was so confused
