Its funny because my late mom (who died 4 years ago and gave birth to us in a completely different place and time from your videos) actually used to tell me giving birth is “like doing the biggest poo of your life while everyone is watching”. Seems like women all agree.

My local hospital has a midwife-led unit where they turn down the lights, have beanbags instead of beds, baths for waterbirths, aromatherapy, support ropes from the ceiling, squishy stools, phone jacks for music. Lights can be dimmed and hospital equipment is hidden away but quickly accessible in all rooms if needed. I'm really hoping I'll get the chance to go there when I have my baby in July and not be pushed onto the delivery suite where there are bright lights and a hospital bed and it all seems much more clinical.
I've had a very frustrating pregnancy where I've not been listened to when I express my wants and fears, and seen so many different people at each appointment so I feel like I really want the birth to be as calm and gentle as I can get it to finally give me some autonomy back. I wish I learned sooner that I could have changed to a different team and got the support I needed instead of learning that over halfway through my pregnancy.

I gave birth 4 years ago and when i was struggling with the second phase my midwife looked in my eyes and said repeatedly : make poo!! This saved me. Im now due with my second one. Hope it will go better!

Hi, I learned that squatting for giving birth could increase the chances of damaging the pelvic floor, what about laying on the side or indeed on all fours ? Thanks

Expecting my 6th and I can definitely say I agree 💯 with this. I was on my back for my first two due to epidural but the rest it was on knees upright. Being upright makes the birth easier, less painful and quick. But yes it can feel a bit embarrassing especially since there’s a possibility of doing an actual poo lol. Then again when you’re in that situation modesty and self-consciousness just go out the window

Yup. I’ve been trying to breath my poop out.
Second baby coming soon and did hypnobirthing for my first. But I did end up on the bed 😕

I don't know if it is. I've never had a poo get stuck sideways, and had to be blue lighted to hospital to have it surgically removed.

Last time I gave birth, I was prepared for hypnobirthing. Second hypnobirthing experience with my 4th baby).
My midwife , a woman in her 60's(which knew my birth plan) offered me some presents:
    1. Didn't let me get into the pool, she said it's too soon. Even if I was begging, and told her that I'm fully dilated.
    2. Called the alarm , red button for almost all the maternity staff ...while she "danced" her panic dance, and all those extra midwifes looked at me telling her I am literally giving birth ( she thought I am giving my soul, though I was extra calm, trying to contain myself, not to kick her the hell out)
She literally screwed up my experience, offering me my life's birthing trauma , which I still try to heal from 3 years later. 😢🥴🤬
It should have been a beautiful birth, but I agonised in pain and tried to ignore her stupidity...which drove me crazy. I lost it sadly, went into a traumatic birth.
That's why I am going to have an unassisted birth hopefully next week. 👊

I was wondering when you changed the colour of your hair? In your videos that were filmed in 2017 you had dark brown hair. Is the hair colour that you've got now not your natural hair colour? I also recently watched one of those dramatised TV programs where the woman giving birth was doing it all wrong. She was lying on her back to give birth, instead of being in either a kneeling or a crouching position. As a result of this she was having immense difficulty giving birth because she wasn't giving birth in the same position that she would have needed to be in if she were having a poo. If she'd given birth the way that you've described how to in your video, then her labour would have been a lot less painful. I said exactly what you've said about birth being like doing a massive poo and not something that you do while lying on your back when I wrote a comment about it in the comments section.
