What a week it's been here at the Lone Fox household! I started off going strong but by mid week I actually got pretty sick. The weather in Los Angeles has been so wacky lately. A project i've been somewhat putting off for the past few months is installing the stained glass doors. Originally I was going to hire a professional but after Macenna told me it wouldn't be too bad I decided to give it a go!

The best thing about Drew and this channel is that he's not an expert in any of these construction type projects but he jumps in and learns and does a good job and makes me think that I can do bigger things than I thought I could before. I'm loving this series!

Him and a channel called cloudyhills are really inspirational for those of us who aren't very DIY-gifted and are needing some extra confidence, lol. I've not yet taken on such a project that requires wood cutting or anything, but if I do, I know of some sources where I can get some advice from average joe's 😅

I just love what you are doing with the whole house and that you are embracing the original character and features. I’m so impressed that there are so many original items, like the lighting fixtures, in good condition - amazing! And those stained glass “doors” in the living room are everything - so much better than what was there before and I’m sure more in line with the original design! So glad you were able to salvage them after the accident! The first time it fell, dang YT popped up TWO ads just as it started to fall and I had to wait to see what happened to it LOL!! Thank you for sharing this journey - so interesting and inspires me!

Looks so pretty, though I recommend putting a latch at the top of the door also. The reason why those old doors were so heavy is that they were more than likely security doors. And your bookcases are going to be so pretty, I can see it, and if you ever get tired of the switch, you can hook your lights up to a smart plug, that way you can control them through your phone or you can set them up on a timer using the smart plug.

As someone who has done a ton of renovations I would Have stained the trim and the wood at the bottom of the door first before adding it and then done touchup after it was attached if needed. That way you did not have to worry about getting stain on the plaster walls, floors etc...stain is one of the most difficult things to remove from other surfaces.

Watching you consider the trim so deeply just fully reminded me that your style is so unique compared to most designers/other influencers. If I have to watch someone “flip” a piece of antique furniture one more time by removing everything that makes it special, screwing in those amazon legs, and painting the beautiful wood that infamous sage green I’m going to explode. This channel is such a breath of fresh air and that’s why I follow you. The direction you’re going with this house is so timeless and tasteful I’m so excited to see where you’re going with it every time I click a vid.
