THAT RANGER IS BEAUTIFUL. Look how clean and shiny everything in the engine bay is. Someone really loved that truck its whole life, I'm surprised they gave it up.
Yesterday my family business shut its doors for the first time in 50 years, first time I have been with out a job in my life. I started working at 14 (hay bailing and selling soda and popcorn at fairs) it is crazy times. I have some things I can do on my cars at the house for my channel but no new parts. Be safe be healthy
17:38 appears the Ranger has an uncovered timing belt. If so, it could very well be a seized engine and someone was trying to check it out and didn't put the timing cover back on
Randy, in these difficult times, thank you for bringing us amazing (I think so at least) video content. Stay safe and stay healthy. Also, COPART (in Del City, Oklahoma) deserves a massive “thank you,” for allowing you to do your walk around videos. Lastly, I think Dodge Ram 3500 has over a million miles, due to the interior/under hood condition, and the clean title.
That car looked like a big animal did that damage. The hood wouldn't have pushed that windshield into the passenger compartment nor would it have done the roof damage.
That was a sweet looking ranger i have a ranger my self , it’s a 2004 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 v6 extended cab flareside 5 speed auto and it’s my first car and it runs perfect, it also has around 140,000 miles on it.
Love Rangers, I've owned 5. That's the less powerful 3.0 V6 but doesn't have the complex timing system like the 4.0. Sounds like a bad battery connection. I'd go for that truck all day long.
Man I had a 93 Ford Ranger my grandfather bought it with his retirement check at the local Ford dealership here in Carollton Texas with 50,000 miles on it and I kid you not when you had that truck with over 400,000 miles on the same motor 3 L V6 it’s probably one of the best trucks ever made far as the plane a Billy we never had a problem with the size the transmission which we replaced and it still ran another 250,000 miles motor never not never burn any oil if anybody gets a hold of one of these trucks no matter if it’s a 93 model 98 model 2005 model I guarantee you you will not be let down if you ever com Across any of these even if it is a four-cylinder is still good truck but the V-6 is a hell of a lot better truck by this truck
The ranger with stick V6 omg Want it lol Randy. @ 4x4. Wishful thinking. lol. I had one. I reprogrammed the key and that worked. Change the ignition and stuff, and it will run great
Randy the cowboy boots are 🔥.if you're going to the rodeo. but please get you a pair of Tim's for all the mud you step in 😂😂..shout out to you and copart ✌️💯💪
Sounds like the neutral saftey system shorted out on the ranger oh check out the fuse box for the starter fuse that what happened to mine replaced it n run
Those Rangers are very desirable trucks. Must push clutch pedal down before starting. You can sell those quick. I would be interested in it for sure depending on what’s wrong. 👍💥
Let me tell you randy my grandma has got an 02 Ford ranger, Stick with the little 4 cylinder and that thing is INVINCIBLE IT WILL NOT DIE! She has ran into everything imaginable and she removed the tailgate because she rammed backwards into a tree stump. I’m so amazed that that little truck is even still running because it’s had a ticking in the engine for years but it still just goes. Who knew?
Now i can function that i had my fix. I live the Z370 Nismo. We don't often see them here in South Africa. Thanks man for another great video. Keep it up
Not a Mercedes guy but i would buy that one if it's cheap. I think you're right something is probably disconnected underneath, and a window can't be too expensive.
By the shift in the benz, theres a black small plastic piece. If you pop it off there a button that disengages the linkage without going underneath the car. Most cars have a similar feature for towing or stuck gears etc
Uberman I really enjoy your videos, not only educational, but im new to copart and find your information very, very useful, keep these great videos rolling, its always a treat when you post new ones.
Great 'logic' on the MB trans. Your logic on things like that go back further than your age. You do come up with many good ones and have gotten cars to run, drive and SELL because you have the ability to THINK! Hey, aren't you tired of hood shock pistons? I hate prop rods but why don't they go back to the small springs in the hood hinges. Anyway, thank you for another and you & the family do something special for the remainder of the weekend. Thank you. Sonny
Nice, a single cab Ford Ranger with the good ol 3.0L V6 and a 5 speed manual. That is a fairly solid truck. The reason why it won't start, I am thinking there is a bad ground, also weak connections. My stepdads sport trac did a very similar thing. It is because the universal terminals do not have a good connection. Our mechanic installed the proper terminals and the truck started perfectly.
Randy, on the Ranger you gotta have the clutch in to start it. Maybe you had it in and if yiu did my bad, but just thought I'd mention it just in case.
@Auto Auction Rebuilds - the Ford Ranger (Echo?) is unique enough that it would sell IF you can get it reasonable and get it going. A long time ago the clutch had a connection that if not either engaged all the way, or if it was inoperable, would not allow for a start. It was nice looking and the 6 cylinder is more functional. The MB had my heart going pitter patter as I love imports. They are a special market - some feel they can afford them if low to buy but they do come with high upkeep if you don't know how to do the repairs yourself and have a wholesale account for parts - not to mention the insurance, tags, and taxes. Those boots are very nice and will make scraping the mud off easier than a lugged boot. If you have not already done so, you may consider waterproofing with some good 'wax' - we refer to it as 'bear wax' and requires a low temp (we put them on a cookie sheet just for that, in an oven on low to soak it in to keep them supple and the tops easier to keep clean while the stitching area between the boot and sole from leaking. Enjoy your videos. Thank you!
For the Mercedes you don't have to disconnect the gear linkage. If you pull on the shifter boot there s a yellow lip on the front of the shifter. If you push on that you can shift it in neutral.
Hey Randy, that Dodge truck has a bent frame. Look at the back of the cab, the bed is pushed into the cab. When you show it looking down the truck you can see its bent.
That mustang looks like the hood was not locked and it flipped opened slamming into the windshield when it popped opened. You should keep a piece of plywood in the back oc your truck to lay out on the muddy area while you are viewing these cars.
On the Ranger it sounds just like my Explorer did with the same engine which ended up being the starter solenoid. Yorts alternator in Shawnee replced the starter for under $150.
I heard stories of trailer/car haulers disconnecting the cluster and/or speedo gauge, putting seat covers and plastic in the interior when purchased to keep the interior looking new and racking up 100's of thousand miles on the truck. Then hooking the cluster back up for the last 75K to 100K miles and selling it as a low mileage vehicle. By the bed and engine, there is no way that is a low mileage truck. The second scam is when a dealer buys it, repaints the bed, de-greases the engine and sells it as a low mileage vehicle when they know it is not.
The transmission isn't disconnected, the Shift Release tab that once opened realeases the shifter into which ever gear, right next to the shifter (the little black circle) which is made for when the car has to be moved and it's dead in power so maybe a faulty trans
That Ram 3500 was rode hard & put away wet! The mileage of 1586 is the trip mileage (notice the dash says “Trip B” on startup). It’s been “deleted” (emissions removed). Was probably a hotshot truck ( back seat removed because the previous owner had his bed there). Probably has a gagillion miles on it. Unless you needed the body, I wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole!
Once in a while my truck with the Hemi didn't start like the that diesel Ram. The lightning bolt would turn on, also. I had to move the shifter out of park then back, then it would start. But, my truck wasn't sitting however long that one was.
The dodge at the beginning was more than likely going to be a hotshot truck, which would explain why the back was taken out to be used as a sleeper. Legally to be a sleeper there has to be a certain amount of space. And it would explain the 5th wheel.
Randy, go to tractor supply and buy a pair of rubber chore boots, throw them in ur truck and when u get to copart put them on, do ur walk about, then when done take them off put shoes back on, when u get home just hose rubber boots off, put back in truck for ur next go around, no more muddy shoes.
My guess is the ranger is either a theft system, a clutch thing, or a starter. My thought on the Mercedes is it was a “getting groceries and to church on Sunday” kind of Carl..
On the Dodge Ram 3500 *_I noticed the "P"ark indicator flashing when you turned the key._* I could be wrong, but that tells me there is a (possibly serious) fault in the transmission.😨😬
That red Ram HD Cummins is a Westin Chapin special. I'm sure he will snap that one up. Now that red Edge Ranger would be a good buy because parts are plentiful and cheap. Love them boots, only thing missing is the cowboy Stetson hat.
Red Cummins was used to haul campers around. The dash went bad in it and it was changed. Probably had a half million miles on it. The ranger I would buy if the price is right. Mercedes I can't believe that car would need a transmission. Good luck.
That Ram looks like a hot shot truck. They took out the back seat so they can put a bed to sleep. It has to have more miles because the headlights are beat. I like the boots.
Mercedes clock is probably automatic and sets by satellite. We had a clock like that at work. Notice how it went in both directions, but stopped at noon/midnight.
Car at Copart: No start, no odometer.
Randy: *_HOLD MY BOOSTER PACK!!_*
This very true lol
Yes true
The Mercedes 350 worth it's time spent on it fired up.. it simply needs some goods hands +a little cleaning inside-out, very good car ! Get it Randy..
Seriously lmaoo
We appreciate the sacrifice you and your boots make for us, Randy!!!
THAT RANGER IS BEAUTIFUL. Look how clean and shiny everything in the engine bay is. Someone really loved that truck its whole life, I'm surprised they gave it up.
That ranger would sell in a heartbeat

LunarOutlaw’s Garage times will get better! Many blessings to you and your family!! 🙏🏾
Thank you@@burn153it is a bit crazy right now but we will make it thought it
Damn bro I’m sorry to hear that. It will get better man.

Hood catch broke off mustang hood. Hood blew open. Fiberglass hoods should have hood pins. Just in case.
You can see the hood hook still on the release mechanism 9mins 24 sec
@@derekpalmer7598 That would be a great fix, depending on what the Mustang ends up selling for.
evoxus11 yeah n it flipped up n broke the windshield n dented the roof
That car looked like a big animal did that damage. The hood wouldn't have pushed that windshield into the passenger compartment nor would it have done the roof damage.
Randy you should take a gamble on the Ranger. I think you may be right, bad battery or solenoid connection. Having a stick is a major plus!!
That was a sweet looking ranger i have a ranger my self , it’s a 2004 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 v6 extended cab flareside 5 speed auto and it’s my first car and it runs perfect, it also has around 140,000 miles on it.
if the ram has 1500 miles, it must have 20 or 30 thousand idle hours
Talk about a real workhorse 😅😅
Randy thankyou very much for still getting out and doing the videos. Brite spot when we all could use it. Stay safe my friend
Love Rangers, I've owned 5. That's the less powerful 3.0 V6 but doesn't have the complex timing system like the 4.0. Sounds like a bad battery connection. I'd go for that truck all day long.
and any ranger owner knows the connection issues we go through
Randy , buy the Mercedes E350 . They have disconnected it to be able to move it
Yep, if nothing else, buy it for Monkey Wrench Mike. Lovely car - he'd love it.
The 2006 e-class is known for a transmission problem....
@@jackdavis2197 Yup and this was the 1st year for the problem-plagued 7G-Tronic transmission... Even with 50k miles, I'd bet the trans is still shot.

The Mercedes and the Red truck were real nice

If the price is right, *TAKE A CHANCE ON THE RANGER!*
Ya probably a seized pulley or green crusties on the red wire my Toyota had that and now it starts no bother
Do it
For that for that ford ranger you wanted I think it is the theft system
Randy the cowboy boots are 🔥.if you're going to the rodeo. but please get you a pair of Tim's for all the mud you step in 😂😂..shout out to you and copart ✌️💯💪
Hi Randy. Hydro-boost brake booster. Did you have the clutch pedal pushed in, on the Ranger? Wires at the starter? Nice boots. Get the Ranger.
Sounds like the neutral saftey system shorted out on the ranger oh check out the fuse box for the starter fuse that what happened to mine replaced it n run
Yup, that was it.. Needed to depress the clutch pedal. I've got a 4.0 litre Ranger, 5 speed and that's what you need to do
clutch is depressed you can hear the starter trying to kick over
Those Rangers are very desirable trucks. Must push clutch pedal down before starting. You can sell those quick. I would be interested in it for sure depending on what’s wrong. 👍💥
I had a 2010 nismo just like that in grey. It was blistering fast! It felt like driving a Ferrari, wish I still had :(

That was a beautiful 370z. Nice little ranger edge. Great little truck, or it was
thank you giving us entertainment thought out this rough time
Randy you gotta get that ranger! Those 3.0 v6 engines are reliable as all get out and it is optioned out so weirdly! A must-buy at the right price!
Well you can tell randy never been mudding he’s scared of mud lol
Ram had foggy headlights already.. maybe a flood
That or it sat for a very long time without being driven. It’s a a 6 year old truck with 1500 miles
Hell yeah my daily aar fix ..... glad they are still letting you on the lot ... keep up the great work and great content
The blue Mustang had the hood flick back over the the wind shield and roof because the hood wasn't latched properly.
that dodge's mileage has got to be rolled back. No way its only 1500 miles
trip LOL
Cant roll back newer vehicles
Not a Mercedes guy but i would buy that one if it's cheap. I think you're right something is probably disconnected underneath, and a window can't be too expensive.
If that ranger turns over not frozen, I would be all in.
I really like the Ranger. If the price is right I might even consider an engine change if it's locked up!
That Ram probably got the miles pushed back. Great video, Randy! Sorry about the shoes! Rip

The first one probably has a million miles, they reset after 999,999
I guess it's possible. That's 550 miles a day for 5 years. But the rest of it is very clean. Bed is beat like it has 50k on it.
Or someone replaced the gauge cluster.
@@glennstiller7616 I was thinking the same thing.
The truck looks and smells new tho

Randy - the dodge truck is a hotshot truck. Back seat is missing because that's where his stuff and sleeping compartment was. Mileage is iffy in those
That ram was a hot shot truck. The back was used as a sleeper. That truck ran loads over the road.
Bob Moore on the front plate lol.
I'm honored, got my first heart on RUclips. Thanks so much Randy!!
Take a chance on the Ranger if priced right and check and see if the drive shaft is installed in the Mercedes.
You push the clutch in on that Ranger? Some have a Clutch start switch?
I heard stories of trailer/car haulers disconnecting the cluster and/or speedo gauge, putting seat covers and plastic in the interior when purchased to keep the interior looking new and racking up 100's of thousand miles on the truck. I'd say starter problem on the ranger shame no one was there to help as you could of tried rocking it back and fourth to try to free the starter
The transmission isn't disconnected, the Shift Release tab that once opened realeases the shifter into which ever gear, right next to the shifter (the little black circle) which is made for when the car has to be moved and it's dead in power so maybe a faulty trans

I think you are right about the transmission has been disconnected car looks great
Ranger definitely go after, the E class would be a good risk too; probably just a disconnected shifter.
“Watch out for the jewels, man💎” 🤣🤣🤣 you crack me up 😂
It’s the same here in Tn Randy be safe and protect yourself ❤️
I own a 2016 Hyundai Sonata and it runs amazing with 56k miles. These low mile car are psycho that you find.

The hole in the Windscreen in the Ford truck, wow!
Thanks for the walk arounds! Adds some normalcy to these crazy times. Keep up the great work!
That merc is going back in time.
You'd be surprised how many crazy things can go crazy with a European car just from the battery being dead or even just low.
If it has been cold the Cummins prolly has gelled up Diesel you’re supposed to keep those plugged in in the winter to keep the Diesel from gelling up
On the Dodge looking at the bed and then no rear seat that was a hot shot rig.
This merc transmission may have been disengaged as you said like there is a lever in beamers to put it in neutral to tow.
Nice video Randy! Could you please...PLEASE review the black Pontiac Vibe next to the Mercedes?? 👍
