Petey’s shirt is Mary Anne, Mike Mulligan’s steam shovel! It’s from one of my favorite books as a kid. It’s the end of the era of steam shovels, but they have one last job. They do it well, and Mary Anne finds a new purpose at the end.
I spent Christmas all by myself for the first time in 74 years. It was very lonely. I did it the next day I went out with my daughter and son-in-law and it was a great day
I'm glad that Callie is learning to make cookies even if just watching at the moment. She will soon be helping with and keeping up with all the rest of them
Only 82 days till SPRING!!! YAY!!!!!!!!! I made my calendar before Christmas and am eagerly counting down here in Michigan. Walmart is clearing out all the holiday stuff now, and round about February they'll put out the first garden supplies. I don't garden but I always go and look longingly at the seeds and dirt and starter pots when they hit the shelves. It's the promise of a new season, like the first robin of spring. 😃😃😃
I hope you do a look back video of 2024…I love those. I watch every single one of your videos so with a chance for me to say oh yeah I remember that moment..
Andrew, the farm and the farm market are absolutely beautiful, covered in snow on December 24th, in preparation for Celebrating Christmas tomorrow! I so enjoyed seeing the snow on your video! Being from Southern California we aren’t snow people but I can certainly appreciate the beauty and Christmas spirit it puts us in! Thank you for bringing that Christmas Spirit to us! May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas 🎄!
Would your chickens lay more if they had heat lamps or close up the pens a bit more with tarps? THANKS FOR POSTING SO OFTEN! Really makes my day to see your new videos, I'm smiling the whole way through!
I’m glad I found your channel. I enjoy watching your beautiful family, all pitching in to get everything done. You are all so happy & smiling. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year. 💕 from Australia.
if anybody else is pointed this out previously I apologize, but Pete’s shirt has Mary Anne the steam shovel from the book ‘Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel’ by Virginia Lee Burton
Hope your Christmas was Merry and Bright!!! Andrew, you and your family did an excellent job this year! Grammy, your delicious treats had me drooling as always!!!HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM INDIANA!!
Has Grammy ever tried water glassing eggs when you have an abundance. I water glass 6 to 8 doz eggs each Spring and Summer so when winter comes around I have them for baking.
It's seed ordering time again. Where has the year gone? Enjoy your channel, and wish you all a healthy and successful 2025. 2024 episodes were outstanding. Grammy rocks!!!
Growing up we had different breeds of chickens and an egg is an egg. The difference is their diet, the darker orange the yolk the better they're being fed. Ours layed brown, white and a couple played light blue.
Great great video. I love watching and listening to you guys. Grammy is a rock star and definitely deserves what she wants. Blessings and a great holiday to all. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday. Your eggs are going fast due the recalls- you have farm fresh. Your cabbage should be going fast too, with all the cold weather-yum-soup. Here in MI it is hard to find Grape Tomatoes we all make veggie trays and dips. That was a lot of baked goods. Have a 🎉 NEW YEAR😊
If you want to start a collage fund for Cali, Just start letting her decorate some cookies and sell them. Seen her decorating some cookies on your last video. You are missing out on a money maker there.
I was just wondering, when you feed the cows the bins always seem to have food in them already and you just put more of their feed on top. Does the feed on the bottom get moldy? Have you ever cleaned them out to start out fresh?
One set of great Grandparents ran and owned a Butcher shop. Grinding different types of meat for sausages and burger patties etc along with curing them over time, in the smoke house or packed in different salts were all done on a daily basis. Another set owned and ran a variety store where you could get things like sugar, salt and flour as well as fabric, thread and zippers. The baked goods section would have been my favorite. Breads, rolls and treats were always on display. I asked for copies of their recipes and were given some. The sad part is that they didn't use common measurements for their recipes. I knew that the recipes would be for large quantities and that was fine, I could quarter them. What I wasn't prepared for was directions such as 1& 1/2 large bread pans of sugar, 1 red cup of raw eggs, 2 wooden ladles of salt etc etc. I have absolutely no idea how much is a "large bread pan", "Red cup", "wooden Ladle" that they kept in their stores 100+ years ago. When Grandma says she wants a certain amount and kind of egg, she may be following this type of recipe and if it still works, why change it? One of these days you should set up multiple cameras and let them run as Grandma and others bake. You can come back later with her written recipes and use voice-over for explaining what is being done and instructions. Hundreds of us will flip for the chance to cook with Grandma!
I think you guys should grow some yellow stripey tomatoes. They are so delicious and usually grow pretty large. I Love them. I'd probably drive to Pennsylvania just for those. They are hard to find in our area now for some reason. So sad. They are the best for a good tomato sandwich besides Cherokee purple.❤️
Wow that is awesome getting things prep for planting . I have to wait until ,I think ,in April to get my stuff I’m planting. Because here it’s only December ,have three more months to go. Andrew you ever going to get the roof over the rest of your feeders? I bake everything with brown eggs not white . Brown egg’s have less cholesterol and white eggs is full of cholesterol. Maybe that is why your customers come and get brown eggs.
Nope. There is basically no difference between brown eggs and white eggs, except for the colour of the shell. Now what *does* matter is how that chicken is raised and what she is fed. There *is* a difference between "factory hens" (horrible and inhumane) and hens like the Ochs, that get quality food, exposure to fresh air, and are allowed to move about and peck.
As a man Andrew, I feel cheated by you throwing the icicle and having it land hidden behind you. Lol. Would have kicked off the video to the hottest start in channel history.
Ohhhhh, Andrew, could you and the boys plant those little yellow pear-shaped tomatoes? I love to eat them right off the vine. Of course, I'm in Oregon, so I won't be able to come over and buy them. 😊 PA people probably love them, too!
As hard as Grammy works, she deserves EXACTLY what she wants! Great respect!
Grammy knows exactly what works for all her recipes, years of love and experience in all her cooking and baking! She is an amazing mom and grandma!❤
@@mycelticstardust I'm all for it. Let's you know that she takes pride in what she's doing.

Funny to watch the cattle move down the feeder when you dump the 2nd bucket. Almost like they are thinking ‘something better??’ Haha

They cleaned out the feeders a couple of videos ago.
That calf in the first pen has an 8 with a tail on its side… can we call it “Tailg8” (tailgate) 🤣🤣
You all are awesome
This was good. GTSY my Friend! ❤
Babies are gettin big
Love your videos! It’s also kinda funny that you are having really cold weather and down here in southeast Louisiana, I have my A/C on!
I look forward to every video! I’m planning on ordering a hoodie tonight
Great content as always!

Still no door on skid steer lol tisk tisk just waiting for a good snow
MERY CHRISTMAS! GREAT FAMILY 🙏🙏💖💙
As an old farm hand your cattle and chicken would produce more and eat more if feeders would get cleaned out at least weekly just saying...
We sell lots of mortgage lifters, and mountain fresh! People love them!
What seed catalogs do you purchase from & which plants do you select from each company?
Mostly stokes seeds. We also ordered pumpkins from outstanding seed company. And we ordered a little from Holmes seed company.
If you have if you have seeds leftover from last season will you use them again this coming season ?
Yeah we always try to use up our seed
