India is a poor country. Can't make such powerful and complex machine in their country. They import old essential components and make an outdated tech out of it like a new aircraft carrier with slope or destroyers having firepower of a frigate .
Each has their own advantages. You can't have only large ships. Even nations like US which didn't have active Frigates are now constructing new Frigates.
It cost 3.5 bil. And an carrier is.neber alone it needs many destroyers and frigates with it and a sub to form a whole varrier battle group . So carrier is very very costly preposition.
The Cinese Type O55, South Korean Sejong the Great and US Burke class Destroyers has modern avionics, state of the art systems drone combat and most of all over 100+ VLS systems. Imphal and aall Indian Destroyers are junk😢

only 12000 tons + cruisers can carry so many missiles of that type. Vishakapatnam is a 7500 tons destroyer.
