I'm a man who has basic knowledge of music, so I encourage anyone to correct me if I'm wrong here, but I love how this song gives moments for each member to shine. Petrucci of course is a God in his own right, Myung lays down the lower melody keeping things rolling, Ruddess just effortlessly goes off on appagios like they're easy to do, and then Portnoy provides not only a beat but also a harmony/counter melody in his percussion. And it's easy listening when each thought flows into each other and hearing how each movement slowly morphs into another. This song just helps me relax and allows me to close my eyes and go into my happy place.

But why is it that all the Portnoy fanboys don't seem to understand that HE WAS THE ONE WHO CHOSE TO LEAVE. It's not like Mangini murdered him and took his spot. Give the guy a break. It isn't that hard, because they are clapping once per beat...so every beat, the audience claps...if it was 5/8 or 5/16, it would be a different story.

they are clapping every beat without no entonation so they are right doing it

I envy the feelings of the band members at the end of the song. They first looked at each other with the smile of success on their faces, then looked at the audience to see the satisfaction on their faces.

With him also the emotional, sad and atmospheric side in DTs songs went forever.

Jay Jackson, he used to have like 15 pedals which are switching to preprogrammed sounds/patches. That is the main reason why he had a custom made keyboard stand so he can rotate 360 degrees and be able to reach all pedals....

Dream Theater is basically a super group but this is their original band. Amazing talent at every instrument and vocal duty. They have a really cool Rush sound but its on steroids and in a 13/8 time sig lol
