@@mikemangiameli561 not if you get a separate transmitter and receiver. If you wanna use the stock remote with that setup you will still need the stock esc because it’s an all in one system. If you wanna do away with the stock setup completely and run a different remote and receiver then you won’t need the stock esc.
Just ordered mine because your review helped me decide since im also new to oval RC and first thing ima do is repaint & new decals and i may also get 55 belair body or somethin…. Dont get me wrong i love mid 80’s monte carlos its just i gotta be different:) Thanks for the tips ill be locktite that wheel spindle bolt. Seeya on the track!
This thing looks so sweet and despite not having oval around I’m eyeing one to just parking lot bash, love the square body. Hope they sell it as kit with clear body and no electrics as i always have some stuff spare.
It would definitely be fun to bash around with. Especially with more power. You can always run a 3s in the stock setup but some custom electronics would be sweet! I’m trying to pick up a clear body for mine. On back order everywhere atm
bro, it grips the road and I just painted a j concept Camaro body for it but I am trying to run it more like a scale track car if that makes any logic.
@@2fmrc that's what I kinda thought. The same for the tegue i would guess. I really do like the tegue better than the castle. It's just easier to dial in
Liked the car, really liked the oval but loved the ass end out, turn right to turn left action not to mention the super human bravery of a certain corner marshal Liam. A huge HEY! Make sure you keep the racing both fun and affordable, have a formula libre (run what you brung) for the hopeless modded to the max wackos, but also have box stock classes where a geezer like me can have fun. Matt, a plea for help, finished my LCG/Surpass SCX24 based crawling MONSTER. Tried to program as/per instructions my Tegu, alas, endless Bluetooth retries advised. Is this common? All connections are proper. Are you aware of a way to alleviate this frustrating condition? Keep the vids coming, please.
No the castle sidewinder would take place of the stock esc and then the receiver to the flysky will take the place of the stock receiver. The stock setup is an all in one esc/receiver so when you remove it you need 2 separate things.
Thanks I'm thinking about getting the flysky remote control getting a pretty good collection of remotes would like one to run them all. Was your intro to this Video from the movie cars?
Yeah I was hoping a few guys would pick some of those up as well! I actually just sold my last slash 2wd before the track started up but I’m not against buying another lol
Very good review.
Thanks so much!
I would love tot get involved in a racing series for these.
Thanks I'll get it figured out
My nephew is putting an oval/figure 8/derby track in his back yard. These could be a blast on it.
Absolutely! I’m debating on making an oval in with my off-road when I build it back at the house.
Ok so with the furitek i would still need the stock ESC?

I love the sr10, but the body should come clear. That way you can personalize your own car.

Awesome! Yeah I know the feeling with the body. I love it but having 6-8 of them on the track that look exactly the same kills me lol
2FM RC yup track end up looking too Nascar like( all cars look the same),,,, in the old jalopy race days every car looked different and had character.
These are so cool! I race these full scale!
Yesssssss!!! Now that would be fun!
That's a pretty sweet car 👊😃
I had a lot of fun with it!
Clear windows all day!
For sure!
I race the 5th scales and bought one of these. I have lots of fun with it and haven't changed anything on it. Great car for the price.
Heck yeah!
"If you ain't first you're last"
This is awesome! My LHS had one about a month or two ago when they first came out, it’s super cool definitely getting one!
I was just looking at that at the local hobby shop! If you paint it yourself you should do a dale sr. Wrangler jeans #3 car!
That would be killer! At the moment the clear bodies are out of stock everywhere! I’m dying to get a hold of one lol

If you want more speed, the stock ESC is capable of both 2S and 3S batteries. Pretty big difference in speed.
Yeah I mostly just ran the 2s cause that’s what all of the tracks around here run. No 3s allowed usually.
Northern ky? I'm south central.
I’m in a small town called Leitchfield. About 30 mins from Elizabethtown
Dude!!!! That is a sick track!!! Killer rig too!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Smaller wheels on the left side will give you better control in an oval
Good looking rig. Keep up the amazing work. What battery connectors are you using?????
Just straight bullet style plugs on this one.
@@2fmrc awesome thank you

Nice!
What size pinion and spear gear are u using
Just the stock setup. I never changed anything on it. The class I was hoping to run (fell through) was just straight box stock.
Wonder how many people knew that lol. When you hook up the castle sidewinder to the flysky what channel do you plug it to?
The easy way I remember that is 1 to turn (servo to channel 1) 2 to burn (esc to channel 2) so the castle will go to channel 2!

Have you ever had an issue with that charger on the left? The HTRC. I’ve had mine over charge on the left port by 5v..
No. I’ve had it for probably 4-5yrs now and luckily no issues so far!

Had a close call today the RC police were out and about had to duck into the corn field sure i would have gotten a exposed frame rail tick lol
Bad ass
If i get a flysky radio and I'm using the castle sidewinder and a furitek dose the flysky take place of the stock ESC?

@@mikemangiameli561 yeah lol. Liam always loved those movies and that was just stuck in my head the entire time I was setting up the dirt oval car lol
How much was it
$350. I tell towards the end I believe
Just a fyi lol, a universal class for dirt oval is mudboss. Its a slash 2wd. Its cheap and fun class.
Yeah I was hoping a few guys would pick some of those up as well! I actually just sold my last slash 2wd before the track started up but I’m not against buying another lol
