Ever since I subscribed to your channel I haven't regretted watching any of your videos. Everything you say feels more understandable than most of my college professors try to be. I thank you for that Zoe for getting me more interested in Fashion Design than before.
Zoey you should make a "ZOEY APPROVED" series where you review stuff. Because I would like to hear your opinion first before I would waste my money on stuff. Your vids truly inspire me! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
The fundamentals of fashion design & Sourcing and selecting textiles for fashion would be awesome! Thank you so much for the reviews Zoe. They help a lot!
LOVE the review so much! i have some of them and i'm craving for the geeky book, Fashion by Design! such a book i really need but so hard to find in my country and not available on google playstore. any ideas where i can the ebook of it? **this question is also for Zoe's viewers
Would love to see the painting of that top! Will you be using watercolor? Curious to see how you'd use a rigger (I'm sure) to get so detailed with those fine lines. Please!
Amazing review, I'm not fashion design artist but I draw characters and Fantasy u make my mind get a lot of ideas for them from this books and u make excited 💜😍.... Thanks thanks so much I hope u keep doing like this amazing videos... I Hope sweet days
Love Love Love this review!!!...and pretty much all of your reviews 😁🦄 I can totally see the 'Fashion By Design' by Janice Greenberg Ellinwood is so geek(in a good way) because she is the Department Chair and Professor at Marymount. I'm definitely interested in getting several books from your review. My vote for the next review is Zero Waste Fashion Design and Fundamental of Fashion Design. 😁
Zoe, I want to thank you for these videos. I went ahead and finally got some books to learn more about patterns, sewing in general and fashion. Can't wait to get them and start learning more
A few books i was looking at and thinking about purchasing and would love your recommendation. I want to go more into technical design and pattern making, and I would love to get books that could teach me more than your average home sewing books. Technical Sourcebook for Designers : by Jaeil Lee , Camille Steen Complete Guide to Size Specification and Technical Design: by Paula J. Myers-McDevitt Professional Sewing Techniques for Designers : by Julie Cole, Sharon Sewing for the Apparel Industry : by Claire Shaeffer (Paperback)
I really want to see that Zero waste fashion design book, seems pretty interesting. And I am always ready for the next book review. Awesome and useful!
Please do a review of the book The fundamentals of fashion design in the next review video. This sounds so interesting!!!! Thank you for sharing all of these books
Thank you for this video ❤️❤️❤️ please talk about those books that you mentioned in the end of the video and can you please mention what are the books that talk about sewing in a professional way Thank you again and I love your channel so much
Hey zoe! Don’t know if you’ve already talked about this but would love to know your thoughts/pros and cons on brands that do production in house vs outsourcing production
Book idea : a book with projects that include information on pattern making, garment construction and sewing of some of the iconic/coolest haute couture garments from Balenciaga and Christian Dior or Alexander McQueen. This would be AMAZIN to learn while practicing
I've owned the Shadowfolds book forever, and still love it. Inspiring but I have yet to apply the techniques in it. Tsk. May we see a review of the Zero Waste book next time? As always, love your presentations. Can hardly wait for your book, although I will probably be in my dotage by then, and will read it for pure enjoyment.
Hi! Could you please review the zero waste fashion design book. Also, I am very interested in knowing the difference in a fishtail skirt shape and a mermaid skirt shape. Since you pointed it out.
I actually own the last book, The Worldwide History of Dress which is one of my favourites in my collection. I've tried to collect a few books on history and around the world different cultures for education and inspiration, some on designers, some pattern making and sewing, although I do have the printed workbooks for pattern making from first year of college so I bought things we didn't cover then like lining and undergarments. I started collecting some fashion design books too and sustainability. I also bought the book we used in fashion drawing class, Nine Heads and some on other fashion illustrators work. I bought some Japanese fashion books like Fruits and some pin up etc. I'd love to finish purchasing my design collection book series and get some books for deep dive for research for collections I have in mind. What are you going put in your book. Since you probably won't put so many different things into one book I wonder what you'll focus on?
Hi Zoe! It’s me again.. lol I just wanted to say this video book review was definitely interesting and informative especially your selection choice on draping which btw I ❤️ as well. I currently have Draping for apparel & design by Helen Joseph-Armstrong ( 3rd edition) which is also great. But, I kind of wish there was more actual clear photo references opposed to the printed resources or guides in the book I have. Also, would you be willing to do a book review on some great “how to” book resources on the business of fashion from a entrepreneurial/designer standpoint? If so, that’ll be awesome! 😊 Again, thanks for everything and I look forward to the next book review video. Ciao! 👋🏾
I watch other youtubers but there's no one I'm especially inspired by. I watch some beauty product reviews, some of my friends' channels, trivia stuff like Today I Found Out, and travel stuff like Wolter's World.
Thanks a TON for doing this! I was sooo torn up on buying 9 heads but you showing me what it's really about made me reconsider. I want to get better at fashion, whatever I drape looks like a towel over my figures XD But I don't wanna spend like 100$ on a book where only 1 chapter is useful Have you read Bina Abling's Fashion sketchbook? Would love to have your lovely opinions on it! Have a good day~
I want draping, fashionpedia,1001 symmetrical patterns book& CD, textile, the world wide history of dress, fashion design drawing course,101 sewing seams
Fashion by Design: "This is for the fashion geek who really, truly wants to study design from _nothing_ and really build something." Ugh. Time to dish out some money. Edit: Thanks for the great reviews! That line you said about by Design, though. Spoke to my heart. Looking at the price, though... I'll take the Used version lol.
What IS the difference between a mermaid and fishtail? I thought they were interchangeable and it was the trumpet that was different? Then again I'm British if that makes a difference in vocabulary terms? haha
The "mannequin" for Savage Beauty was a human -- but then digitally altered to appear non-human. I first realized this when I wondered where on earth they had gotten all these very expressive mannequins! www.nytimes.com/2011/04/14/fashion/14ROW.html I think the blurred like of human/non-human, which leads to that middle ground, uncanny feeling, is so perfectly McQueen. Andrew Bolton, you win again at visual storytelling! ALSO: We need to know your thoughts on the new McQueen documentary, pleaseandthankyou. I'd watch a playlist of you talking fashion movies or docuementaries. Just sayin'.
Ok, I've posted a poll to see if people are interested in movie reviews. As for the mannequin thing, SO FREAKING COOL!! I did think those mannequins were really cool and they must have cost a fortune....
Ever since I subscribed to your channel I haven't regretted watching any of your videos. Everything you say feels more understandable than most of my college professors try to be. I thank you for that Zoe for getting me more interested in Fashion Design than before.

Thank you! Sourcing fabrics; textiles please!
love to see a review on the last book about sourcing fabrics !
Thank you for all you do Zoe. I would love to see the drawing of the metal outfit without using metallic paints.
I think I'll do it as part of Inktober!
Would love to see the painting of that top! Will you be using watercolor? Curious to see how you'd use a rigger (I'm sure) to get so detailed with those fine lines. Please!
Gouache, mainly, but I don't like super long haired brushes like riggers.
Right on time I been building my book collection thanks

Hi! Could you please review the zero waste fashion design book.
Also, I am very interested in knowing the difference in a fishtail skirt shape and a mermaid skirt shape. Since you pointed it out.
Mermaid is that tight and then flared skirt shape and fishtail is a short pointed train.

It'll be a fashion design instructional.
@@zoehongteaches Cool. Sounds good. How is the progress going?
Hy ? Do you have any recommended book of patchwork clothes ?
Fashion drawing course please! :)
I wish there was a book that was more oriented to the male figure....honestly draping for the male upper body?

Hey Zoe, I would like to see the book review of the book Designing your portfolio: from concept to presentation author Joanne Barrett
Hi Zoe! It’s me again.. lol I just wanted to say this video book review was definitely interesting and informative especially your selection choice on draping which btw I ❤️ as well. I just love seeing reviews by you on books in general. You have a lot of good information and I respect your knowledge and expertise.
Thank you!
Textiles! Zero Waste fashion! Sourcing and Selecting Textiles for Fashion!
Fundamentals of Fashion Design! please review it as I'm tempted to get it, but if you say its bollocks I don't want to have already gotten it.
I all want these books
How do I differentiate between great and bad or not so good flats ?
Can a patternmaker who did not draw the flat figure out how to make the design by only looking at the flat? That's the goal.
You are the best ! Thank you ❤
Fashion design drawing course please 😊
im so thankful for your videos !!! could you recommend us some youtubers you're inspired by ???

I got the used version too! but overall, I think it deserves the higher price. Most books are $20 and give me $2 worth of info.
What IS the difference between a mermaid and fishtail? I thought they were interchangeable and it was the trumpet that was different? Then again I'm British if that makes a difference in vocabulary terms? haha
Mermaid is a skirt shape and fishtail is a hem with short train.
You're the best
Fashion design drawing course
Textiles: A handbook for designers
101 sewing seams
Fashion Portfolio: Design and Presentation seems like more of a fantastic coffee table book than anything educational/instructional
It is indeed a very pretty book.
Christian Dior books!!!!
1.Fundamentals of fashion design
