In Paris, they dont carry the freedom of panorama law. Meaning any "artistic" work is copyrighted for the artist's life + 70 years. Now, sure the tower has existed since the 30s. But they never added lights until 1985 and Paris classifies these lights as "art" thereby making it illegal to commercially distribute pictures or videos of the Eiffel Tower at night.
@@pickleism253 that isn't true at all. I'm french, living in Paris and I can assure you it's not illegal, you're free to take pictures. It's just a rumor that circulates among tourists. It's only forbidden if you're using it in a commercial way.
