  • Hey what's up everyone welcome back to the channel! This week I made a video dedicated to the viewers that have been asking questions. I go over how to check for camber wear on tires, how to level the headlights(which I think most cars are similar), and what the difference is between the three awc modes on the Evo X. Thanks for watching and I'll see you guys next time, Later!

    The ayc modes slow down throttle and steering response and make the rear diff lock up later. they do not change the power bias. it is always 50/50

      Wow that's good to know, thank you for that. I've never really looked into the S-AWC too much because of California's weather. 👍👍

      @@JeffSongCars its nice when its raining or snowing bc it dulls your inputs, especially when you make bigger power and traction is an issue.

    Hey Jeff, great video! I have a question about the headlight adjustment. I have an OEM evo x projector headlight. Am I suppose to see 2 diagonal lines (That 45 degree diagonal line on middle of light beam) or 1? I got 2 diagonal lines somewhat spaced out. I can't tell if my horizontal adjustment is screwed up or not because I've never seen someone with same headlight in my area.

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад +1

      Thank you! If the lights line up, say the lower parts of the 45 degree angle on both the beams you should be good unless you want one solid step looking beam. I'll try to show it through the keyboard lol
      _____/----------- ______/--------------
      If its like that it's good but if it's way off you might need to level it horizontally.
      ______/----‐---------
      ______/-------------
      If its like that it might be a little too off horizontally. The reason for the whole 45 degree step up is because the manufacturers didn't want to blind the people going the opposite way. I hope that answered your question 😁👍

      @@JeffSongCars Thanks for the reply! Currently the light pattern it looks very similar to this with about 2-4 feet spacing on those diagonals from 25 feet away. (I'm combining L and R beam pattern into one)
      _________/-----/------------
      However, my friends projectors looks like this
      ________/------------
      So I was wondering if I should adjust the x-axis to match that middle part together or not. Any thoughts?

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад +1

      No problem! I think if you connect the middle of the beams you might end up with a three step beam
      ________/------------
      ----------/
      Is your friends car an evo as well? It sounds like your beam pattern is correct and if your friends car isn't an evo they might have designed the passengers side to not be tiered. I hope that helps! 👍

      @@JeffSongCars Oh I mean from going to
      _______/---/-------
      to
      _______/----------
      My friend has Acura TLX so most likely they got different light patterns. Maybe what I have now is correct and I'm just overthinking it due to differences.

      If you have an IG send me a picture of your beam pattern @_jeff.song it sounds like it's correct the way that it is but I want to make sure haha 👍

    The bead on the tires looks like it happened during the install. It's really easy to damage the bead on low profile tires.

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад

      Oh wow no wonder I didn't notice it before, that tire was previously flipped and I guess they messed up on the install then... it was a pretty new tire too 😥

    What size rims are you running because I’m trying to get some for mine but I want some aggressive fit meant

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад

      My rims are 18x9.5 +23. The best fitment for evos are 18x9.5 +15 or +21 but I'm running spacer up front so mine might look different. Rimtuck.com check out that site and it will have pictures with different rim sizes and measurements 👍

    Great video! I have a Evo x and for some reason every time I shift from 1 to 2 it’s doesn’t shift smoothly, do you know why that is?

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад

      Thank you 😁, how does it feel when it shifts? Sometimes for me when I try to put it into first I have to wiggle the shifter a bit to get it to go into first

      You might be low on clutch fluid or might be leaking, hopefully that helps and it's only the case of needing a topup! 👍

      @@JeffSongCars how do I check how much fluid it has?

    • @JeffSongCars

      It actually shares the fluid with the brakes 😁👍 so DOT3 or DOT4 depending on what you have in there

    Do you know if there is a left /right adjustment ?

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад +1

      For the headlights there's no left to right adjustment but if you take it apart and customize it I think you might be able to put a spacer on the side you want to lift up. That's a lot harder to do though and you have to be very careful with that process 👍

    impact wrench would be much more faster then using a breaker bar and a drill with a socket

    Close call on that bad tire mfg QC, go with quality over bang for buck cuz it's better peace of mind for an AWD car. I always go with Michelin or if not available maybe Hankook and Kumho.

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад +1

      Yea I think that may be the better option, I'm stuck in the college mindset of "buy the cheapest and make it last as long as possible" hahaha but yea I will have to go with better tires from now on. Anything new on your car?

      Lol, yeah still newish and higher mileage Evos are going for $35K and up so mine is staying stock if someone offers my asking price of $50K I'll probably let her go.

    • @JeffSongCars
      @JeffSongCars  3 года назад +1

      Damn by all means go for it because you can buy an evo 10 anyday for around 25k for a decent one so you would make a good amount back. Today's used car market is crazy high so do it if you can 👍👍
