    In this video I show you how to thread the JUKI MO-114D serger. I set mine up for a 4-thread serger stitch.
    I also show you how to set the default tension settings on this serger as well as the stitch length and differential feed to get you started using your serger.
    We sell this exact serger model in our online shop. So, if you enjoyed this video and want to see me make more videos using this specific serger model you can order yours here: bit.ly/2U7i8xz
    If you missed my unboxing video of this serger you can watch it here: • Unboxing JUKI MO-114D ...
    I own 5 sergers and this is my recommendation for a beginner serger that will allow to get started easily and grow with it. We've used this serger to make multiple pairs of jeans, t-shirts, dresses, blouses, etc.

    I really like your tutorial. I have actually owned my juki serger for a couple of years and every time I have to re-thread my serger I watch this video. It’s way more clear than reading the manual. I should memorize how to do it but to be honest I use the cheat way to thread the loopers by tying one thread to the thread I’m changing to. But if a thread breaks like it did today I have to rethread it from scratch! Thank you for this clear tutorial.

    Does the upper looper have to be threaded first on ALL makes of sergers ? please

    • @TheCraftyGemini
      @TheCraftyGemini  3 года назад +1

      The short answer is no. But you’ll need to reference the user manual for your specific make and model. All my mechanical sergers require it but my one air threading serger does not. So, always double check with the manual.

      No. The Babylock air threaders can be threaded in any order. But you still need to put the lower looper thread over the upper looper thread. So it's really just good practice to always start with the UL.

    Looks difficult. That's why I don't own one. To complicated for me.

    • @Teresa-L.2024
      @Teresa-L.2024 3 года назад +1

      It looks intimidating at first glance, but it's really just a matter of join the dots. Once you've done it a few times its easy. The air threading sergers are more simple; you put the end of a thread into a hole, press a button and the thread pops out through the holes in the looper arms. I used to teach sewing classes so had to learn how to use many brands and models. Some of the older machines are much more complicated, which is why sergers got a reputation to be feared in the home sewing world.

      @@Teresa-L.2024 thank you for explaining this to me. I was very intimidated when I saw it being done and how it was being shown, so many small places. Thank you again.
