    -Make sure your jars are clean and sterile.
    -Use clean hands when making and preparing the cabbage.
    -Add one tablespoon of salt per 2 lbs. of cabbage.
    -Massage the salt into the cabbage until it releases enough water to cover the cabbage, making your cabbage in an air-free environment.
