These guppies have all sorts of fun coloring for the same reason that people say not to plant seeds from grocery store fruits and vegetables, the F1 hybrid plants that grew those fruits have very consistent phenotypes as both of their parents were purebred plants, however being that the f2 plants produced by those seeds are a hybrid of two identical hybrids the genetic variation of the grandparent strains is reintroduced or rather just expressed again leading to plants virtually anywhere in between the appearances of their grandparents.
You might not be the most popular right now but keep showing results like this and in some time you are gonna be very popular! All of us are looking for crossbreeding results like this now with all the new strains. You doing this cuts time practically in half with all the guesswork so Thankyou!
awesome video as always! i enjoy how you always take the time to describe how all the fish look - i have a lot of family who are partially sighted, and we watch your videos together! they all appreciate the added descriptions.
I love your aquarium fish crossbreed series. Very interesting how the traits displayed differently with different individuals. If you ever decide to do another crossbreed experiment, I hope you make a video about it!
I really like these guppy breeding videos! You don't see as many people cross breeding different types of guppies but it's very interesting from a genetic perspective. I hope you make more of these with more different breeds
I said it once and I'll say it again. If your not a biology professor or something in that field in 20 years I'm truly, truly, truly going to be incredibly disappointed. In a world of video games, cellphones and the internet you my friend are a rarely seen individual. Blessed Be.
Hello! Very interenting video, diferent from your regular videos, but very very interesting. Hope you make more aquarium videos too. Greetings from México 👋😊
All those fish were super pretty, but I especially liked the males that kept the red tailfins but had a bit of new yellow on the tail itself, glad for the update!
Your first video with this got me and my wife wanting to get a pair of guppies to breed. We are in a second batch from the original parents now and some how ended up with a gold with two gray guppies!
I love this series! It takes me back to my teenage years. I had several tanks of guppies and loved breeding them and seeing the results. Now, I can watch you and I don't need to clean the tanks. ;)
LiJ?: "not the most popular series" Me, who watched every video at least once: There is a popularity? Do whatever you like! That's the reason I'm here.
this is so cool! I would definitely watch more videos like this, taking two purebred fish and then looking at the different phenotypes in the offspring. very cool stuff :)
loved the part when you said and I re-phrase ; "metalhead is a Y mutation so if anybody wanted to fill a tank with metalheads only you need a male that is metalhead" .....no an everyday tip to give , so thank you
I love this series :) so now the question is. how do you stabilize. the blue Moscow gene. (all offspring turns dark blue.) but you only have 1 blue moscow female!!!!!!!!
I was starting to wonder how you were able to keep so many yellow guppy alive, until you said that there was some loss among them. I'm amazed you were able to get some to stay alive, i never was able to keep one alive whatever i do. Yellow guppy are really more weak and fragile.
The breeding genes of your guppies looks alot like my own experimentations ( yours are way more stunning tho) but mine are tiny, i've mixed them with endlers, it looks very cute ^^
I just got some guppies today. I had been looking for females in pet stores near me and I finally found a store that had them in stock. I used to keep many guppies but I moved about 6 months ago and sadly they all died after the trip to the new house.
@nick sweeney I mean, the suckers all dIe within 48 hours of bringing them home. All my other fish do just fine, almost no issues.. but for some reason, guppies just go belly up in the tank. I've even taken in water samples thinking my parameters might not be right for them to live.. but.. nope.
@nick sweeney 😂😂😂 Sounds about right! Still feel bad tho. What kind of fish do you keep if you are feeding them guppies? I've only ever heard of "feeder fish" such as goldfish, shad, and those little pinkish minnows.. (Btw, I love talking about fish, so simply ignore me if you want no further discussion..)
@@breannbubolz6583 Guppies are insanely hardy. They multiply like crazy. The only time they all died off on me was when they kept disappearing, and I realized that the alpha killifish was eating them. He would just sit there with his big derpy smile and look back at me.
@nick sweeney I kept koi in a pond for some time.. untill I went on a weekend trip and came home to discover that my new neighbors thought my $1200 koi and my several prize goldfish were the perfect size for a fish fry! They had climbed the fence and netted all 12 of my pets that I'd been raising for years and breaded them and ate them. They thought I was crazy for keeping fish in a pond as pets... To them, the only kind of pets are the kind that are kept to protect only. All other animals are food. I've never kept any Cichlid, but I am debating on if I want to try. They are definitely more colorful and lively in a big tank. I have Gold Dojo Loaches, Long Finned Albino Bristle Nose Pleco, Angelfish, Mollys, Platys, albino Skirt Tetras and German Rams. So it's pretty a peaceful tank. I'll be moving soon and in the new place I'm setting up a custom 200 gal tank.. and that's the tank I want ether African Cichlids or Discus...
Do you know which male is mating with your pregnant yellow female? Did you choose him for any particular reason? I have to say all of these guppies are very good looking, with a few very outstanding ones. I love the black and yellow mosaic on the tail fin particularly well. Thanks for this update, they are so relaxing to watch swim.🖤🇨🇦
I breed endlers and have been letting them crossbreed to see what I get. It's hugely rewarding. Hope to see more of you fish in the future, just hopefully not in jars.
4:31 that guppy's tail is indeed GLORIOUS
This actually is my favorite series
Me too!
I do love guppies. I look forward to more.

@ᴛᴀᴘ ᴍᴇ ᴀɴᴅ sᴇᴇ Victoria uhm I think this was for someone else. Oops, no worries 😀

Nice I seen that other video you did on the guppies. They look nice 👍✌️

The F1 males could really pass as red snakeskin/cobras. I am loving what you’re doing with these guys
Man I wish u would have continued working with that line
4:10 are my favorite females
I love this series! It takes me back to my teenage years. I had several tanks of guppies and loved breeding them and seeing the results. Now, I can watch you and I don't need to clean the tanks. ;)
Gotta catch em all
I love fish and I love the way you explain the science behind their coloration. I'm definitely looking forward to more!
Gorgeous guppies! Thanks for this update. Plus a word of advice to everyone: never underestimate Java moss!!
LOL i really thought you said "the males that look like they're dead" at first
»"Their dad", not "they're dead" Subtle difference« ( 2:19 )
So true.
Those fish are so beautiful!
Could you Choreograph a Moscow Metal Head Guppy dance? Please.
Your Wiggly Worm dance is very Inspirational.
This was interesting - I love seeing the effects of genetic variation on the fish patterns they're so pretty!
How did I not see this until now!

Awwee what beautiful babies 💕
I love how metal headism is genetic trait
the java moss ball looks like a wabi kusa
I'm a metal head too 🤟
Very cool
I cannot quite put into words how much I love these videos. Your voice, the way you film, your setups. I just love this channel
Yes
I love the series! My girlfriend and I have a community tank that currently has two guppies!
Interesting!

pretty fishies
I’ve done this exact crossbreed before. Tequila sunrise girls are really big and yellow. I love them.

Endlers are fun little fish.

It's good to deviate, enjoyed, thanks Jar man 🍀
For some reason, he said Moscow and I thought of the Ghengis Khan Moskay song.
Very interesting video!
Thanks
A can't keep guppies alive to save myself!

Tequila sunrise? You mean every morning for me?
I definitely have 'metal-headism'

Wow hoe her je zoveel Java moss gegroeid ik probeer un java moss te groeien maar het lukt niet echo goed. Keep it up
is it really that hard? isn't it just surface tension of the little droplets suspending them on top of the surface of the water?
