- Behold! A new series in this channel! Hello i am Ena Francia, I come from Philippines but i am living here in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) for three & a half years and i am glad to tell you that i will be sharing my casual day in a life journey in Vietnam. I make videos on food, travel guide and tips and anything i love about Vietnam. Here is a comfortable space for my adventure, i hope you enjoy!

Vietnamese people eat everything with vegetables. They promote the balance of taste, color and nutrition. That's why Vietnamese people are so slim and healthy
Thats what everyone thought about vegetables, until you find out about anti-nutrients in them. Also, fiber is indigestable. These anti-nutrients are plants defense mechanism to fend off predators. They inhibit absorbtion of certain minerals and vitamins. Vietnamese used to eat more vegetables in the past because of the lack of meat. Meat was not very affordable during war.
i envy my Vietnamese friends, they eat a lot but never get fat. i'm in heaven here, i love veggies more than meat. Totally the opposite of Philippines' food. 😉

I find this really cool. I'm actually a Fil-am . I been traveling asia quite a bit but earlier this year it was 1 month in the Philippines and another month in VN (my wife is viet). I'm actually still here haha. Both countries are great and I been trying to have my cousins come here for a vacation. I don't think enough Filipinos are aware of vacationing in Vietnam.

thanks for dropping by here, where are you planning to stay? i am excited for you, it'll just be couple of months from now. Vietnam is just starting to adapt with english language, big cities like Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh have wider english speakers, learning vietnamese is a game changer. i would love to learn the language too 🥰
English is still not a universal language for everyone. but in big cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, you will easily communicate with younger people but still not as popular as other countries. But you are afraid because the people are very friendly and hospitable. You can use translation software (Google Translate) to communicate. You learn Vietnamese when going out to shop, which is an advantage and very necessary.

Southern people put sugar to literal everything, even soups -.- Northern dishes rarely have sugar in them. You live in Saigon, do expect that. That drink with hard fruit, I suppose it was "quả sấu", also from the North, you can actually eat them when being ripe. Nice vlog!
i visited Hanoi once, i have to agree, i find their food with less seasoning than here in South. I will try again this drink/fruit, it's translated dracontomelon in english hihihi i am just shy around vietnamese people in the restaurant that it is not edible at all hehehe, thanks for the tip! will share my second try eating the "quả sấu. 😃

Dae ka mag tipid sa meat, hehe. You need to gain weight to gain muscle. Nag po-protein shake man me. . oki man sya so far. One year na ako nagiinom pero not daily, haha. Mga 3-4 times a week. Sabayan mong gatas imbis na tubig. Tastes better din ;)

I found out that you are more Vietnamese than I am XD. I cant eat that Mam Tom :))) But I can eat others fermented paste in the South. I would prefer Bun Dau with Soy Sauce than Mam Tom haha
Really??? Why soy sauce in Bún Đậu? Hehehe also like bún bò huế which has shrimp paste too right? I have some Vietnamese friends who don't eat mắm tôm, hehe you are not alone! 😃
The fruit is actually edible, it's just really hard to bite off (there's a seed in the middle so be careful) but it's crunchy, sweet and a little sour.
I know you already had Bún Đậu many times before but I'll just leave a little tip here: stir the mắm tôm quickly (like how you would stir natto) until the oil dissolved completely and foam started to form. (There's a chance you did give it a good stir off cam but still lol)

hahaha i'm getting excited to eat the fruit again, i always see on street vendors & it's a locals favorite(i assume). that's why i ordered it, i was too shy that people will notice me eating that, and might be really unedible. hehehe Yeah i do, stir it just enough. Many tourist foreigners scared of traffic in VN . The rule to win this fear is keep routin slowly walking when you across of streams of motobike! bykers knows how to avoice you automatically in understand-order! remmember do not runs and stop sudden , accident immidiaatly! . Don’t be affraide and do it if you want to be saferty every across the crazy- traffic in Vietnam.
i am still scared. But yes, the rule is do not stop walking. Motorbikes here are really fast i think. 🤔
@@enafrancia It’s not right in all circumstances , ofcourse. you should cooperate slightly with motor-bikers ,too! Let’s look at motorbikers, keep routin, slowly walking. if you guess stop , give them safety time / distance enough to avoid you. ( That’s your proactive stop). This situation depends on your experience and motorbiker’speed. Don’t be worries about it. let’s do it in crouded streets, where everybody couldn’t go/drive too fast!!! good luck!!
