Thanks for the winter video, my gardenias leaves are turning yellow this winter . Should I wait till spring to fertilize ? What can I do in winter ?
P.S. Its the August and Klein varieties.

Don't fertilize now. The fertilizer (especially nitrogen) will encourage the plant to break dormancy and grow new green tissue which will be killed by the cold. Just wait until it breaks dormancy naturally in the spring and then you can fertilize and prune off the dead parts.

Hello, I live in NW Georgia and this winter be had some terrible coldnights/days. I have a lot of dead to cut back but my question is WHEN? Do I do it in March? Thank you for all the great advice.

according to an article i read, you're absolutely not supposed to prune in winter as it can cause more harm than good. the recommendation is to wait until spring to see if the damaged stems produce any new shoots, and only in the spring prune off the dead stuff. hope that helps

I have kliems, crown jewel, frost proof and summer snow, I assume none of them can do -15c I planted a summer snow and kliems in a raised bed and the kliems is blooming, every gardenia has buds except the summer snow, and the kliems and Crown Jewels are blooming, I live in zone 8B and they are all sold here as hardy “frost proof” gardenias so we will see 😂

I was searching for answers that, why my gardenia leaves are curling up. I bought it 2 weeks ago and repotted it to a larger terracotta pot. As I live in zone 6a I kept it indoors on an East facing window. I keep the soil moist but not water logged (as instructed). But its leaves are dropping and curling up. Can you please help?

Let it dry out before the next watering. Do the "finger test." Stick your finger into the soil to your first knuckle (about 1/2"). If the soil is dry down that deep, water. If it is still moist wait. Also see if you can move it to a south facing window so it can get more sun.
