How to close the sprinkler system before winter

Today we will look at how to winterize a sprinkler system in your garden.
This is a simple project that you can easily do it yourself.
You will need:
- an air compressor
- an adaptor to connect the hose from the compressor to the sprinkler system
- have access to the valve to shut off the water supply to the sprinkler pipe
- have access to the sprinkler valve box outside in your garden
Before you begin, please make sure to:
- turn off the water supply to the sprinkler system
- turn off the electricity to the sprinkler system
- check and set the pressure on your air compressor to an acceptable level based on the pipes in your system (for example: 60 PSI).
The time to complete the winterization of your sprinkler system will depend on your air compressor (how much air it can pump continuously) and on the number of zones you need to go through in order to push the water from the pipes.
