Welcome to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites and spreading the word because they deserve more recognition. I know this is your 2nd reaction to them. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Yes, their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their unique style. Their live performances are just outstanding. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the world metal scene. If you want more heavy stuff, then I recommend “The hammer of wrath”, “Judgement day”, “Set the world on fire”, “break the wall”, “When destinies align”, “Shadowmaker”, “Winds of Transylvania”, “Thunder vengeance”, all live). For a different side of them: “Edge of the world”, “Empty daydream”, “Epilogue”, “Liar”, “Spellbound”, “A frozen serenade”, “Glory to the world” (all live). The MVs of “Shadowmaker”, “When destiny align”, “Winds of Transylvania”, “Judgment day” and “Glory to the world” are also excellent.
Thanks for all of those recommendations, and I agree that there's something special about bands that can play in multiple genres, or also combine them ("genre-bending" is the term I've heard lately), while still keeping their own unique flair. Miyako does alot of the music as a classically trained Pianist she has a real ear her nickname is the Golden Touch (Me Yock Oh) Midori is the other guitarist (Mi dor EE) She also Bodybuilds and has placed 2nd recently in competition although they should check the power in Harunas legs as much as she rides that double bass (Hah Rune Ah) and as you can tell original founder bassist Miho is the headbanger here with her Metalicca Ride The Lightning shirt (Mi Yo) and Asami's vocal quality is awesome on this song (Ah Som EE).
Yes, this was former bandleader and bassist Miho with the Metallica shirt, she left in 2021, and after a long audition, 20yo Fami was found, playing bass for LOVEBITES since 2022.
and The Dad might like to check the insane bass video recorded when Fami was still in high school. She is a genuine prodigy. ruclips.net/video/Q_UqztwYAOU/видео.html
Your thinking of Miyako ( Mee-Yah-Ko ) she is a classically trained Pianist and a self taught guitarist. She is considered to be one of the best guitar players alive
The jazz riff you heard was used by Rush in La Villa Strangiato (An Exercise in Self-Indulgence). Rush pulled that part from Powerhouse composed by Raymond Scott (1937) and used in Warner Bros cartoons. Specifically the parts "Monster!" and "Monsters (Reprise)" in La Villa Strangiato came from Powerhouse. Not sure if Lovebites pulled that part you heard specifically from either. Could be direct or indirect. Maybe someone knows. This song has a bit of anime guitar vibe to it. Reminds me a bit of composer Toshio Masuda (Naruto).
Ah, so I was right in my memory of that being from the Monster! section (it's been decades since I've seen the names of those parts). Also, if I'm remembering correctly, the term "An Exercise in Self-Indulgence" was only used in the Vinyl version, so I think I'm dealing with someone from my era! I didn't know anything about the Raymond Scott thing though, so I'm definitely going to have to look that up. Thanks for posting that!
OK, just listened to Powerhouse. Rush undeniably used that part almost note for note (I think there was one extra note in it, but it made about as much difference as Vanilla Ice lifting Under Pressure). Again, thanks!
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Cool. Thanks for the response. I have some knowledge of music from different eras because my father was born in 1933. Listened to a lot of his jazz, classical, musicals. My wheelhouse is heavy metal, classic hard rock and symphonies. Rush is legendary.
That's awesome to have that background. My father was born in 38, but he never listed to music. Literally, I think the only music I ever heard him listen to was the Fiddler on the Roof soundtrack, which I think was just because my mom had it on a tape in his car. Luckily for me, I had siblings born in the 60's, so they were in the right era for great music to pass on to me. Plus, growing up in Buffalo, bands like Rush, Triumph, Kim Mitchell, etc. were playing at small clubs all over the place.
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Happy the links help. My father was an airline pilot and had a 35mm setup in the house. He had Fiddler on the Roof. He was down on Rock n Roll. Turns out my Mom was the rocker! She loved Maiden.
@@alexg6374 HAHA! I wouldn't say I didn't notice it (cuz I totally did!) I mean, that was the whole reason I chose that video in the first place. The problem was that my mind had been running through lots of ideas for what she might do, so when she was actually doing it I was honed in on her playing power chords on the guitar with her left hand while playing much more complicated piano with the right. Had I paused it (and believe me, it's comical that I didn't since I normally pause like crazy), I probably would have just commented on her holding the pick in her mouth. :-) (It's dorky details like that I tend to hone in on when I'm kind of overwhelmed).
Thank you, and hugs back from Texas! I've never been to Spain (sounds like a great title for a Three Dog Night song ;-), but my daughter did do one of the Camino walks last summer and really loved it.

Great reaction. Her name is Miyako, pronounced as Me-yah-koh. She does a magic on piano and guitar switching in Rising ruclips.net/video/6nci8KtXJPk/видео.html. She switches from chugging guitar to waltz on piano and back to chugging guitar again so quickly and smoothly as if she is playing the same instrument on the same rhythm. Another great piano work is very effective way to use piano. It is a most beautiful progressive A Frozen Serenade ruclips.net/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/видео.html. It is nothing acrobatic piano but very effective. Enjoy!!
effortless - that is the word that keeps coming up over and over in almost all of LOVEBITES reactions. yes they make it look that way but i am sure that the effort writing and performing these songs so flawlessly required endless effort and practice. and yes every song you will hear by them will take you on a different journey .their most insane guitar song is also in this studio live session and is called 'scream for me'. 14 back and forth solos by the amazing team of midori and miyako that will leave you breathless : ruclips.net/video/46z-13l2oNs/видео.html

Thanks for the recommendation. I haven't heard of that band yet (other than the comment below this one), but I'll certainly give it a look. Thanks for the link!
High again, Dad. I can hear that you are a man with some knowledge of musical theory. Going into the Japanese rabbit hole is a different musical experience; chord changes, overdrive, compositions, etc. Best explained - I think - by Marty Friedmann in an interview with Rick Beato. Worth a listen if you care: ruclips.net/video/N_SHZkqsIDQ/видео.html
Thanks, and thanks for that link! I'm of course a big Marty Friedmann fan, and I've been watching Rick Beato's videos for a while (although it's usually more his analysis of Top 10 lists, or "why is X song great?". I haven't seen this interview though; in fact I don't think I've seen Beato interview anyone, so might as well make this my first!

LOVEBITES - Burden Of Time lyrics:
Sleepless nights, with every passing day
I'm dreaming life away
Faceless moon, tell me, what would you say
If you could curse your fate
The daylight will die
Silent noise is ringing in my head
Killing me through the night
Scars might fade, but the pain will remain
Save me before the dawn
As days go by
I'm standing here
Still fighting it
One day I must change
(Don't waste your time)
Time is fair to everyone
(Don't waste your life)
Time and tide wait for no one
Don't ever be afraid to die young and live fast
(Don't waste your time)
Time is slipping away from us
(Don't waste your life)
Time keeps changing, and so do we
Live as if today was the last day
SOLO: mi-ya
Starless nights, with every passing day
I'm swinging life away
An empty glass is falling down again
What's happening in my life?
The blood stains remain
Flames will ignite
Searching for the light
In this time
In due time
SOLO: mi-ya / midori / both
I'm standing here
Still fighting it
One day I must change
(Don't waste your time)
Time is fair to everyone
(Don't waste your life)
Time and tide wait for no one
Don't ever be afraid to die young and live fast
(Don't waste your time)
Time will never be the same
(Don't waste your life)
Time is running out too soon
Racing against the clock
But we can't escape from tomorrow
(Don't waste your time)
Time is slipping away from us
(Don't waste your life)
Time keeps changing, and so do we
Live as if today was the last day

Miyako also does a piano cover of Helloweens song eagle fly free and metallicas battery.
I don't know Helloween music very much, but I've been a Battery fan for decades. I'm very intrigued by that as a piano song.
Thank you for the full pronunciation guide!
They are truly elite musicians. Midori & Miyako are 2 of the best duos I've heard in 5 devades. Dive deeper, they just get more impressive.
Your thinking of Miyako ( Mee-Yah-Ko ) she is a classically trained Pianist and a self taught guitarist. She is considered to be one of the best guitar players alive
Miyako pronounced me-yak-o with the "o" rhyming with toe or low. 😊
Miyako playing keyboard and guitar, AT THE SAME TIME, and you just... Smile. Lmaooo
Haha, I'm not really sure what else I could do there :-)
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks lol, vey easy. As the 99% of other reactors do in that moment. Pause the video in total AWE!! You didnt even notice it, haha.
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Well answered, my friend. Hugs from Spain.
Thank you, and hugs back from Texas! I've never been to Spain (sounds like a great title for a Three Dog Night song ;-), but my daughter did do one of the Camino walks last summer and really loved it.

Thanks, I appreciate that you're keeping track!
Nice rush reference......I'm certain Lovebites is well aware of rush and other classic metal and rock and prog bands
Enjoy!!
Thanks for the links!
effortless - that is the word that keeps coming up over and over in almost all of LOVEBITES reactions. yes they make it look that way but i am sure that the effort writing and performing these songs so flawlessly required endless effort and practice. and yes every song you will hear by them will take you on a different journey .their most insane guitar song is also in this studio live session and is called 'scream for me'. 14 back and forth solos by the amazing team of midori and miyako that will leave you breathless : ruclips.net/video/46z-13l2oNs/видео.html
Thanks for the link! And yes, I'm sure there is tons of practice involved :-)
nice reaction next try SHADOWMAKER but do live version!!
Yes, Shadowmaker live 2021 ( ruclips.net/video/wmAKRiG89Qc/видео.html )
Thanks, on the list! (and thanks to @mythsteps1 for the link)
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Hard to imagine a guitarist that wouldn't enjoy the heck out of this song.
Here ya go…
Mee-ah-ko. 😊

Next LOVEBITES song: “Break the Wall” Live ! 🎸🔥🎸🔥🤘
It's definitely at or near the top of the list!
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks “Break the Wall” has great Thrash metal with also a melodic Gary Moore like solo from Miyako. 🤘
Here is a link to the best video version of Break the Wall ruclips.net/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/видео.html@@DadDaughtersandDrinks
It's rare someone knows Gary Moore well enough to make a comparison like that, so I'm certainly intrigued!
Thanks again for the links :-)
An entertainer who captivates the audience with a wide range of songs.
and the advanced skills of each individual
A miraculous group of first-class musicians.
The joy of watching a metal band called LOVEBITES
There are four basic human needs; food, sleep, peace and LOVEBITES🔥🤘
They are #lovebites and they play heavy metal from slow and melodic ballads to heavy thrash, and some of the catchiest tunes you'll ever hear, and as you journey into the wolves den of lovebites metal you'll find not one bad song. Enjoy your journey. New sub 🤘🎹🎤🎸🥁🐺
Thanks!
Is the word you're after "Dissonance"? If so (or even if not), here are links to the LOVEBITES song "Dissonance". This is generally regarded as LOVEBITES' heaviest song.
This is the live listening party video: ruclips.net/video/kodqPeREhYs/видео.html
Here they playing it live: ruclips.net/video/WlCNvHoG1pY/видео.html
Thanks for the links, and it's very possible dissonance is the word I was looking for. But at the moment I've still got some cognitive dissonance going, so I can't really say :-)
I would suggest the other Masterpiece they do as amazing as Swan Song with Chopin Intro checkout A Frozen Serenade ruclips.net/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/видео.html It is CC available for lyrics
Thank you for the link; and I'm glad there's CC!
Great reaction Dad!!! Now, after you discovered the greatest Heavy/Power/Speed/Trash Metal Band on Planet Earth, Lovebites of course, it’s time for you to discover the greatest Hard Rock Band nowadays: BAND-MAID !!!
Let’s start with an instrumental song: From Now On (Official Music Video) from their YT channel (ruclips.net/video/a6ZSvmnkS00/видео.html) 3 minutes and 45 seconds of pure hard rock music that will blow you away !!!
Thanks for the recommendation. I haven't heard of that band yet (other than the comment below this one), but I'll certainly give it a look. Thanks for the link!
How does a guitar produce sound when you only play the frets with one hand?
When you hit the string with one hand, it still causes the string to vibrate. You might think it wouldn't vibrate enough, but it does!
Magnificence 🤘🏴🐺
Miho Miho Miho!
@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Here's an interesting interview/jam of Midori and Miyako in which Marty Friedmann is involved. It has English subtitles. In the first video Midori talks about the top 5 guitarists who have inspired her. ruclips.net/video/PjJioJ0C-U4/видео.html In the second video (from the same interview), Miyako does the same. ruclips.net/video/8z2f3NHdDDE/видео.html
Cool, I'll check those out - thanks!
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺❤❤❤❤❤🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hey Kid. I'm one of those who don't care for the frequent pausing and extended narrative. This is my second Lovebites reaction of yours I've watched and it's a bit much for me so I'll be moving on. Thanks for understanding.
Thank you for understanding! I totally get it, and appreciate you giving me a shot.
🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Miyako (Me - ahr - coe)
There is no R sound in her name.
Thanks. That's very different than I would have thought! (I wouldn't have had that r sound in the middle)
@@ChadTheDragonLord I just wanted to avoid triggering an "a" sound like in "area", maybe "ah" does that for me...
Japanese is widely based on syllables, and the english "a" is none of them! It's a more open ah...
Would it be safe to say the accent is on the second syllable? Like mee-AH-koh?
