there's alot of wisdom in the staleness thing. as with content creators, keeping things fresh throughout just vlogging is a tough ask in the long run, since the space is always extremely competitive. expanding your business model beyond just vlogging is both as risky as it is necessary in ensuring you retain both your brand presence as well as keeping your knives sharp. end of the day, it can only be as bad as an expensive lesson learnt if you fail, and a lucrative franchise if you make it through. godspeed.
After being in the game for 5+ years, I am now understanding everything so that just shows how difficult it is in this industry. Don’t wanna rain on your parade, but you have no business being in the restaurant business. Even if you know the business well, its crazy tough to make any sort of profit and is a crazy tough business to begin with. I would also strongly recommend against doing this venture with a BF, cuz the minute you and he have issues, it will spill into the business and make it even tougher. And, if the two of you end of not working out, its a complete and utter disaster waiting to happen. I’m all about taking risks, but take it from someone who did something very similar and it caused me a LOT of hardship. I was so stoked about spreading my wings and getting into a new business venture and thought I could learn on the job, but I was very wrong and ended up spending a LOT of money and time and in the end it was just a money pit. I should have listened to my father like you should have listened. I want to support any young persons dreams and decisions, but at a minimum, I hope you and your partner have a contract that stipulates what happens if one of you want to walk. Just for fun, and 100% not saying this is your situation, but you may want to watch the Netflix special entitled “Bad Vegan” about a famous NYC woman restaurateur who married a shady hustler opened the first raw vegan restaurant in NYC that was highly successful and how they hustled $6M out of investors. Even if it doesn’t works out I can see that you will get so much out of it as growing in the life and job field. But still… From the first day you started this RUclips journey, I was able to see the high quality of your work and even you were able to increase that too. PS That look of food creativity and love for food in that last part with the scorched rice was really cool to see.
I'm so happy for you Tina! And watching you always trying new things and growing up is such a BIG inspiration. Will definitely take a visit to your restaurant!
watching the part about the "main story" or however you call it right now at 11:50. Just my 2 cents: i dont watch your content because i wanna watch a game of thrones style yt channel with a set story line. i watch you because you are funny, real and have chill vibes in your vids that entertain me. just show your journey and do not focus on creating the journey. as the famous saying goes "dont overthink shit". keep it simple.
i would definitely recommend working in a back of house position even just for a little to see how all aspects of a restaurant run. unfortunately, it isn’t all fun and games creating recipes and cooking food, which i am sure you know and are learning. but you’ll also pick up on little things, such as making sure your food has cooled completely before storing or putting a lid on, and labeling the sides of containers rather than the top. wishing you all the best on your new journey and looking forward to watching you continue to learn!
This is exactly how you grow in your 20s! I also went through the similar process recently and that’s already so brave of you to share the process with public. You are such an inspiration, hope you know that 😍
I appreciate your take on trying to tell your story! Not all the time people realize in order to create a good story, you have to know how it will end in order for you to find a start. I love your emphasis on individuality and your transparency about everything very excited to follow your journey!!

Tina sharing her struggles, and tbh just the most trivial thoughts going on in her mind, are the best things about these vlogs 🥺 Love every vlog and will continue to love future ones!!! Glad you're taking a leap of faith. All the best to you, Tina🌻
I agree with the taking risks thing, I went to a field I had no familiarity with (but really wanted to try) when I was choosing my major in uni and since no one around me pursued it it’s always so new but that’s what makes it exciting as well ! I’m excited to see where this will go and good luck ^^
my jaw dropped! but now i'm smiling - excited to watch you explore this new chapter. it certainly is daunting and there WILL be tough times, BUT you're going to get so much good out of it too. lean in, girl!
I think the storyline/storytelling aspect is just a bonus of your vlogs and not the main attraction. The reason why ppl watch your vlogs is because they like your down-to-earth, funny personality. I hope your decision to opening up a restaurant is because you want to actually run one and not just see it as content to vlog. Best of luck either way since true failure is not trying.
Congrats to your new adventure 🎉. Do share the location and would love to visit!! I am so putting this in my itinerary for June 2023. Hope it will be up and running by then!! ❤

I’m taking a pretty big leap of faith in my life right now, what I’m doing might not seem like a big deal to other people but it is for me…. dooy i started watching you from the start and i know how much you struggled we love you .I honestly have learnt sooo much from you and i can watch your videos for hours .DO WHAT YOUR HEART SAYS and dont be afraid .YOU CAN DO THIS
better to try something and fail at it than regretting never trying it. worst thing you can do is doing the same thing your entire life. even if its the best and you earn a lot of money. so proud of you! without failure, no progress. keep going doobey

Case in point, she hasn’t even opened the place yet and now dealing w freezing pipes and probs w the tiling. And this is BEFORE the place even opens for business.
Look, hospitality in general and especially the restaurant business is a true labor of love, but important to be realistic about things vs cheerleading.
love the dooby ad before every video. it’s almost like an intro i like to sit through now :)
Another session of FREE THERAPY
You took the words out of my mouth
Literally same ❤
I do food reviews while im baked on my RUclips channel
In a similar boat, Tina! Today is my first day of being self employed, I'm nervous, but I'm so thrilled at the thought of blazing my own trail. I have faith in me to be able to make it happen, and I have faith in you too!! Wishing a community of support for the both of us. You've absolutely got this.
I cried while watching this. You make me question myself and my own life choices a lot (in a good way) when you talk about taking risks and putting yourself out there. This year has been filled with a lot of what if's and shitty moments for me so I hope to bring some of your inspiring, risk taking energy into the new year with me. I love your vlogs and how no 2 are the same. Keep doing you and sharing your life with us! We're all rooting for you dooby!!🥹
We might don't know much about restaurants business or can answer what was the concept that you've been doing exactly in the past video, bc honestly we seeing you as a healing machine. in my case I've been struggling with ED for a while now and seeing your video cooking or just filming what you eat for breakfast while talking about random topics are just so heart warming for me. ok what I want to say is don't be too stressed, you don't need to. I love doobydobap no matter what (ps. wish all the luck for your every new interest. Merry Christmas dooby ⛄🎄♥️)
So excited to see where this journey takes you both. Congratulations on this next step!!
I’m so happy for you and can’t wait for what’s to come! You don’t know how many times I’ve referenced your videos for recipes - anything from doenjanggook or myeolchi bokkeum to smexy mashed potatoes. The way you present your food is so simple yet sophisticated and beautiful. You are full of innovative ideas and I love how you incorporate traditional recipes and put your own twist on it. Hwaiting!! ❤
In regards to not knowing what you’re documenting with your videos, I believe it’s your life. You have made a documentary of a girl who is trying to find herself in Korea and making a living whilst doing what she loves. It’s so inspiring and I believe if you follow through and work hard, it’ll be great content and an even better reward for you in the long run. Don’t stress, keep focusing on yourself, and have fun. Life isn’t about an end goal. It’s about the journey before you meet your end. Love you bunches Tina. Thank you from one aspiring cook to another. Cheers!
I got an ad on dooby right before watching dooby… love that❤
This is so inspiring and motivating & I can’t wait for visiting your restaurant in no time!
For whoever that needs just a little push, you got this!!
Tina, I must say that this was a very eye opening talk and you made me remember this mindset about life that I forgot about while passing through hard times. Thank you, I feel like it will have a really big impact on how I grow…
Also about the restaurant decision… Omg this is so big and so exciting, I am so so happy for you. Even if it doesn’t works out I can see that you will get so much out of it as growing in the life and job field. But still… From the first day you started this RUclips journey, I was able to see the high quality of your work and even you were able to increase that too. And because of so many other things, I can see that you will do a really really good job at this new thing you are getting in✨
Feel like you’re a distant friend , so, hope to see you some day🫶🏻 maybe even see you in your restaurant🥹🤍
Dooby just remember YOU are the theme. I’m not sure about others but I watch your videos to watch you and your journey. You’re charismatic and unafraid to put yourself out there, take risks, be passionate. Your story is interesting.
This!
Love to watch she is growing and I feel lucky to be here. Spread your wings Tina. Lots of love, always full of love for you
your weekly vlogs and shorts are the reason why im thriving every week honestly! your videos are like my rewards for a long week of thriving 🥹🫶🇵🇭
Same 💖🇵🇭
loving the new vibes…the music really is a perfect 🫰🏼me and my daughter are so inspired by you! and love watching you take this risk in something that you love doing! Your “style” of vlogging is what makes us excited to be a part of your journey! We look forward to seeing what happens next! PS That look of food creativity and love for food in that last part with the scorched rice was really cool to see.
I'm so happy for you Tina! And watching you always trying new things and growing up is such a BIG inspiration. Will definitely take a visit to your restaurant!
Congratulations on this new journey, Tina!! I'm so happy and rooting for you!
Seeing you progress from your first few videos is just so rewarding. ❤
watching the part about the "main story" or however you call it right now at 11:50.
Go for it Girl! Reach for the stars. I love your outlook on life.🎉
i would definitely recommend working in a back of house position even just for a little to see how all aspects of a restaurant run. unfortunately, it isn’t all fun and games creating recipes and cooking food, which i am sure you know and are learning.
but you’ll also pick up on little things, such as making sure your food has cooled completely before storing or putting a lid on, and labeling the sides of containers rather than the top.
wishing you all the best on your new journey and looking forward to watching you continue to learn!
tina, your song selection is so groovy! and lyrically accurate lol love it!
I can feel the anxiety, but I'm excited for you and that you're going for it! Best of luck :)
I support your decision Tina. Taking risks like this one will make you grow. Good luck!!
First of all
*HOLY* *SHIT*
opening a restaurant is like seriously the best way to utilise all ur knowledge and i don't know why I feel so proud of her seeing her progressing in life
Best of luck
Will be following u on the way
Super exciting! Absolutely all the best on this new endeavor! ❤️🥰
I’m at the cusp of taking a big risk right now as well and I can’t tell you how inspiring and reassuring this video was ❤️ I have full faith in you, you’ll do great things with this restaurant and I can’t wait to follow along!!
I've been loving the Doobie interupting doobie and back to your regularly scheduled doobie ads. Cheeky. Many well wishes for your new adventure! Take time and do as much research, find resources and you will be great. No way you wouldn't!
New chapter unlocked
Congratulations, Tina. Can't wait to try it when it opens. So excited to go on the journey with you!!!
omg moments before disaster😭😭😭 i hope it works out
Tina sharing her struggles, and tbh just the most trivial thoughts going on in her mind, are the best things about these vlogs 🥺
Love every vlog and will continue to love future ones!!!
i feels so inspired by you sharing this. Although it's such a big risk, you'll grow and learn from it either way(even if it doesn't work out). Good luck with your restaurant and congrats on your courage to make such a decision! Hope to see videos of your progress journey:)
SOOOO PROUD OF YOU!!! Can’t wait to hear more about this next endeavor
I’m taking a pretty big leap of faith in my life right now, what I’m doing might not seem like a big deal to other people but it is for me…. And hearing you talk about your fears reminds me that there is SO much waiting on the other side of things we’re scared of doing - you were scared to do content & look at where you are now
Wow yea definitely needed to see this video!
Good luck!!!! I'm looking forward to this. Best to study and meet the chef around!
So proud of you!!
Taking a risk and challenging yourself is for the brave and courageous! You will find a way and I can't wait to watch!
dooy i started watching you from the start and i know how much you struggled we love you .I honestly have learnt sooo much from you and i can watch your videos for hours .DO WHAT YOUR HEART SAYS and dont be afraid .YOU CAN DO THIS
I love how it said 'Keep Going' on the door of the place you settled on!
better to try something and fail at it than regretting never trying it. worst thing you can do is doing the same thing your entire life. even if its the best and you earn a lot of money. so proud of you! without failure, no progress. keep going doobey
Underrated comment.
Watching this helped me get out of bed, thanks. Good luck on your future endeavors
You don't regret the things you do, you regret the things you could have done. Proud dooby here! Love you Tina!
Please I hope you don’t actually believe this you can most definitely regret things you do/did
Your insight and advice is seriously so helpful. 😭 So excited for this next chapter of your journey and thrilled to hear about all the new updates on the horizon!
Rule 1: never open a restaurant until you’ve worked every position in a restaurant. Can’t wait for the awesome content.
Thankyou for ruining the surprise for me❤ Saw this comment before the video even started 😂😂
Maybe her boyfriend has
Exactly.. I think she’s doing it partly for her boyfriend. Nonetheless, when you get the opportunity, why not?
@@kcdelar if you can’t handle this scenario I would say “this is why”: imagine Friday night, you are super busy and patrons are waiting on turnovers. Your dishwasher snuck out the back to buy his drugs and disappeared. Meanwhile the toilet is plugged. Are you ready to get out of the kitchen to deal with the bathroom? So many more scenarios that I can think of.
@@neoLover23 LOL this is like pretty accurate lmao
So excited for this new chapter of yours Dooby 🥰
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. This is a great opportunity for you taking on a restaurant opening. I am sure the two of you will make a great team and this will provide an ample source for content creation.
Deep down inside of every cook, chef has a desire to own their own restaurant and present their own culinary creations. Maybe the two of them are living their life’s dream together!❤

Having been acquainted with an established restaurant many moons ago, it can take a good five years to build up a clientele before generating a profit. It really takes dedication and a dream to succeed.
Super Proud of u Tina on your big step!! WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT U IN WHATEVER PATH U CHOOSE✨️ Can't wait to see the new content u put out in the future
- 🇵🇬
Definitely a big risk, but I think it's worth it and you'll make it through. Dooby having a restaurant, if I lived in Korea I would definitely try to go every day. Good luck! ❤
Dooby - I have to say that you’re one of the most initiative-taking people I’ve come across :) I’m constantly in awe at the life you’ve created and continue to create for yourself. I know it seems like there’s a large influx of people who are doing bigger things, but it’s truly rare to see someone be so willing to do these things even with so many people telling you otherwise! I really admire that quality and am wishing you the best :) 💕 You’ve done more in a year than people sometimes do in several (or at all). Looking forward to see how this all works out.
Omg so proud of you Dooby, you're restaurant will be the first I try when coming to Korea!!
Dooby so excited for your new journey. Keep growing and never stop doing what you love. So excited for you. All the best❤❤
1. overthinking = anxiety (just know things will always work out, and tell yourself that)
2. You seem to know many local restaurants. Don't be afraid to talk and get advice from those people/owners.
They seem to know what they are doing (successfully).
This is such a huge step. Congratulations Dooby! Wishing you all the strength and luck
I will 100% come eat at your restaurant if it's open when I visit next year 🥰 Watching you cook on youtube literally makes me drool so I cant imagine actually tasting your stuff! Good luck! You can do it!
Wow! I was shooketh when I heard that u were opening a restaurant, but in a good way! I hope everything goes well for you, and I can’t wait to see your journey! It’s definitely a big risk to take, but I’d like to think that u can make it. Ur the best dooby❤❤
Never work together in a relationship, particularly in a startup which stress in overdrive will spillover onto the relationship. Speaking from bitter experiences.
they will learn the hard way
05:50 "Landlord seems nice also" did not age well 🥺
CONGRATS!!!!!!! Super happy for you. You’re still so young & it’s the perfect time to take risks in pursuit of your dreams. I think you’re doing amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey and I look forward to the updates and watching your dreams flourish!!
congratulations on the new position👍
You vlog about almost anything at this point. Your story telling and cinematography can to take the mundane and make it divine!
I hope everything goes well for you ❤
living through you dooby. it’s incredible that you have the opportunity to take that chance, the time is now!!!!! don’t die wondering ily
We are always here, rooting for you!!! You are always so inspiring ✨💖
So far, one of my fave vlogs of yours Tina!
