We did not like Breathless Punta Cana either. However we love Secret Resorts in both Mexico and the DR. My wife and I recommend Secrets Royal Beach if you return to the DR.

Great review! I have been there and you nailed it! I will say we were not disappointed by the food. We did the other speciality restaurants. Breathless has the best pools in the dominican BUT short on seating and if i recall, just one hot tub. The party in the lobby and the sky bar are excellent. We are going to do Chic. We did Republic. RIU Party is super impressive (the best party resort bar none) but the rest of the experience is best described as 52 weeks of spring break. The food isnt a priority. Ros are on the Breathless line. My favorite is Majestic Elegance woth upgrade followed by "The Level" @ Melia. I wouldn’t go back to Melia without the Level upgrade. Never been to a resort where it matter as much.
I've been to about 20 different resorts and Breathless Punta Cana was one of the worst. I was shocked as I had been to Breathless Riviera before and loved it there (although the beach was terrible everything else was great). So many great resorts in Punta Cana and the beaches are so much nicer than Mexico.
Breathless RM was amazing, but agree the beach was not the best! We have had some beautiful beaches in Mexico but definitely loved Punta Canas beach for our first trip!
@ga20904 lots of really good ones... depends on what you're looking for. I only go to adult only. I don't like Jamaica but the iberostar grand was amazing. I like Riu republica because when I travel solo.. it's not all couples and easy to meet people, gorgeous beach, great staff, fun parties but the rooms are outdated and food is average. I can't wait to check out Live Aqua Punta Cana
When we went to Breathless 6 years ago. The restaurants were not good, thanks to the neighboring Onyx we ate well. However, the humidity in the rooms were unbearable. I will never go back. We will be trying Royalton Chic this March.
Heather it’s so crazy how you made this video! I have been to Mexico with my hubby about 5 times and we wanted to try Punta Cana for the first time for my 30th, it was absolutely the worst trip ever. Even people I met there were complaining about the service and how Mexico was better. No offense to that country but I do believe they do not care for customer service, even if you tip them well. Never again I won’t go there anymore.
We had good service when we switched to the Royalton but I will definitely agree, it’s not like the service you get in Mexico and the staff are so much friendlier and happy to have you.

It’s not expensive as of now, did they lower prices? I can go for 10 nights with flight included from Toronto for 5300 for two people. If I don’t care about the rooms would it be worth it? Any similar priced places you’d recommended other than CHIC?
Prices can always fluctuate. It’s good the price went down. I would not have been as hard on this resort if I would have paid less! Live Aqua, Secrets Cap Cana, or Lopesan are great options!
So glad you switched to Chic Punta Cana. It was just remodeled. It’s the same premise as Breathless, but much better… still not great but better. I’ve tried this breathless twice and it just never delivers. If you ever go back Xhale Club is def a must do here. I noticed y’all didn’t do it. Kelly Tours also prices a little cheaper for private transfers. They are great. Btw that chic used to be awful. After the remodel it got way better. I’ve been a number of times. 😂
Yeah the Xhale just doesn’t seem worth the upgrade personally with the Breathless resorts, even at the Cancun property. If you got more perks and better upgraded rooms maybe we would have. Royalton offered better upgrades for a much cheaper price. But we have experienced far better resorts for sure. Cancun area is still my fav thus far 🫶🏻
Maybe because i went pre covid in 2019 i had a blast was very clean and not that expensive when i looked up prices breathless vs royalton its only a $100 difference during the month of july
RC has definitely gone up in price from when we traveled last year. But overall RC had better quality rooms, food and drinks. I did like the pools and overall resort layout at Breathless though.

I think this resort has the potential to be an awesome property for sure. But the service was definitely lacking, rooms were outdated and dirty and the food is no where near what it should be for what they are chnarging. I love the Breathless brand and hope they can get this resort turned around!
23 women visited breathless November 2020 ( still pandemic) we had an amazing time apart from music that was geared to a certain demographic and no nightclub . We did upgrade and have a personal butler. We are well aware that the resort wasn’t running at full capacity . We are thinking of returning November 2023 Isn’t your review based on a couples perspective ? We considered Royalton but feel like that’s more couple based resort ? Would love your opinion
Not at all! I would send singles to Royalton Chic. It has that same upbeat party vibe like Breathless but much nicer amenities and the food and drinks were amazing. I just shared a video on Royalton Chic :)
A-FRICKIN' MEN on everything you said. We did have a swim-up and it faced south. Your room faced north. Our patio was easily 130 degrees in the afternoon. We could only swim at night. It was warm like a bath and no privacy. The rooms are outdated. One ugly green chair and that is all there is for extra seating. Our room also faced the party pool so there was loud club music from 12:00 until 6:00 p.m. every day. This resort does not come close to measuring up to the other Breathless resorts. And yes. The best thing about BPC is that it is next door to Dreams. Dreams had better food and a water park. It was much nicer.

thank you for the video, your voice over work was excellent. i was very shocked to see the quality of the bathroom fixtures 😮, and the food looked very mediocre. also seeing the lines for the buffet is a real bummer, overcrowded.
Thank you for posting these videos. Now that I see this I am so sorry I didn’t see this video before I booked 6 nights here at breathless punta cana. For me was a horrible experience starting with checking in. Long story short bad experience for my first ever all inclusive.

Can cun/ punta Cana sucks now. The rooms are clean. The food sucks and every ten feet you walk you will litterally be asked "weed, coke, extacy?" Also when I went last year Brazil dumped a ton of waste in the ocean. Causing a massive algae bloom in the ocean

You would need to call who you originally booked through and see if you can cancel or switch your booking if they allow that. Our company allows clients to do so if changed within a certain amount of days before travel.

Breathless punta cana was my worst experience at a resort! Hated it, worst drinks ever!! Breathless in Mexico was Amazing though!
I had my wedding at Breathless Punta Cana with over 60 guest. We had an amazing time. This was back in 2019 maybe things changed since
