  • A 13+ Minute piano epic with multiple movements.
"Apologia Evae" was conceived as a tone poem for a short story I wrote called "One Final Night in the Garden of Eden", where Eve is told by a being claiming to be God that she was supposed to eat the fruit of knowledge after all, and that she was right to do so. It has three sections; the first has typically structured verses, in order to establish the conflict and ask the question, philosophically and musically, which the song intends to answer. The second is an experimental composition of many parts, which intends to highlight the mental and emotional experience of eating the fruit of knowledge. The third section, termed opera, is an answer to the first part's question, where the unnamed narrator tells Eve to embrace her new freedom and find the joy of a mature, knowledgeable and meaningful life.
The song intends to have lyrics, but I had difficulty enough with the piano piece. I might post a version with lyrics later.
The song was composed in entirety by me.
