I think it was in that episode, showing how America fell, where they were showing clips of the past of the rise of the mirror universe.

Flint/Micah Bracke's canon in his role on being the richest person in the TOS era Federation as actually the power behind the Federation. Wish that Georgiou interact with Flint and have the conflict as to figure out who's really in charge of the Federation. Would be interesting if Flint with Gary Seven&Roberta Lincoln went to the Mirror Universe and made sure that they separate as some sort of universal balance. Also Flint did play a role in funding Zefram Cochrane's FTL&Subspace research so in the Mirror Universe, he should still be the money behind Cochrane's research.

I prefer the idea that the Mirror Universe was always a separate and distinct reality.
