    Been following this channel for almost a year, even tho haven’t run much after being Floxed. Great content, love the comparison to the previous model as well as where it fits with other brands. Oh yeah, thanks for being a JA just for us! :)

    Enjoyed the review, Steve. No nonsense, down the line, from someone who handles running shoes as a business. Keep up the great work.

    The Mach needed a rubber outsole badly. I'm very happy with this iteration and will probably pick up a pair.

      One of the biggest complaints about the Mach 5 was the outsole durability. The rubber outsole will help with the lifespan and is a much-needed change for the Mach 6. We hope you like them when you try a pair!

      But the lack of rubber outsole made the ride so smooth. Curious to see if the rubber outsole takes away some of that.

    I love the narrow fit of Hokas! Completely agree. Everything is getting wider and thicker. Nice to see Hoka stick to a thinner fit.

    Did not have the chance to try any Mach, but after hearing so good things since version 4-5 with this latest version seems even a greater improvement. Definitely to consider in my list for this year.
    Appreciate the video!
    Cheers

      Had two Mach 5s. Durability definitely was an issue. Also nice that they added rubber. I tried on a pair yesterday and they felt nice. Will possibly purchase this summer.

    You are not alone walking around with two different shoes on and I don't have anything to sell! Sometimes thats the only way to know if the new shoe works. 😂

      It's one of the techniques we always recommend when we have a customer comparing models. It is a great way to feel how the technologies in shoes differ from one another.

    Great review, thank you, Steve. but i want to ask, is this mach 6 is wider and more stability than mach 5??

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thank you and no problem! The overall fit feels a pinch on the snug side compared to the Mach 5. The Mach 6 does not have more stability than the Mach 5. The midsole on the new Mach became softer with the new blended midsole, so it is less stable than before, but the rubber coverage helps too!

    Is this shoe comparable to the ASICS evoride speed 2?

    Great review, Steve. So many really good daily trainers coming out these day. I'm really torn between the Mach 6, Rebel v4, and the Novablast 4. Any thoughts?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  6 месяцев назад +1

      All three of these shoes I run in regularly (one of which I am wearing as I type this). Of the three, I personally prefer the Rebel. The NovaBlast feels, to me, the heaviest and least exciting when I run in it. The Mach 6 is great, and I can tell I prefer this to Version 5, but I think the fit on the Rebel is what does it for me. It's so comfortable and the new fit made my foot very happy. Full disclosure, I love the Rebel line and the Rebel 4 was one of the shoes I was most jazzed about this Spring.

    Hi. The 5 wasn't firm enough for me. Is the 6 slightly firmer?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  6 месяцев назад +2

      No, it's not any firmer. If you want something a pinch firmer than this, you may want to try the Mach X. For me, the Pebax plate firms it up enough to run quickly in without feeling too squishy.

    How you can compare it with NB Rebel V4? Which you will choose for daily training 10-15 km?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  5 месяцев назад +1

      It is very similar to the Rebel v4. It's lightweight, very responsive, and has enough cushion for longer runs. I am partial to the Rebel. It fits my foot better with a wider toebox, and it feels like it has more arch compared to the Mach.

  • @MarcoMarco-cc6zv

    Nothing like the Mach 5. The 6 (Wide) has a firmer ride and higher stack. My tendon plate injury returned after two weeks running on them. Too bad. Now I have to search for a alternative. To Hoka and some other manufacturers with this annoying habit: never change a winning team (too much)

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  5 месяцев назад

      We recommend trying out the New Balance Rebel v4 or Brooks Hyperion. If you liked the lower stack height, the Hyperion would be the better choice for you.

  • @anthonylam6025

    Would you recommend the 880v14 or the Mach 6?

    • @RunMoore
      @RunMoore  6 месяцев назад +1

      It really depends on what you are looking to do in the shoes. The Mach 6 is a little lighter and more responsive which is great if you are looking for a faster, speedier shoe. The 880 is more suited for everyday runs and longer mileage and is comparable to the Hoka Clifton 9.

  • @garyhaber6957
    @garyhaber6957 6 месяцев назад +1

    Personally, I am very upset with Hoka atm. They had one of the absolute best shoes ever with the Hoka mach five, with a huge fan base, and they were always sold out.
    The Mach 6 has just came out for sale and they did a switch up on all of us loyal mach fans..
    The shoe is now another Clifton with a different foam. And unfortunately, would you believe they have added a whopping eight millimeters to the stack. EIGHT MILLIMETERS!!!! The shoe has nothing to do with the original mach series as it is only 2mm difference from the Clifton's, give or take. What on earth? Hoka now have nothing for those of us who like a bit of a lower stack and a bit of flexibility and ground feel, without plates, etc.
    I just bought a pair of New Balance Rebel v4 sneakers. They seem to be a very good replacement, particularly with the
    stack height and drop, with only 1mm difference in the drop. V4 are 24mm in the forefoot and 30mm in the heel, so identical to the wonderful Mach 5s with only 1mm extra in the heel.
    Hoka have lost my business now and I hope they eventually come out with a shoe for those who like a lower stack shoe with ground feel and flexibility, in effect, something identical to the legendary and iconic Mach 5s and even 4s. But for now, have jumped over to New Balance.
    By the way, the Mach 5 offered really amazing lockdown in the rear and midfoot, but still offered fantastic toe splay up front, and i dont have a narrow foot. And when you put those Mach 5s beside the Mach 6s in this video, bro those Mach 5 still look hot as..... its like comparing a fancy sports car in the 5s, with a Toyota Camry Hybrid in the 6 😅
    Having said all that, thanks for your review and your thoughts.
    God bless all 🙏

      @assordante2205 you cared enough to reply..... that takes some effort. And I am able to express my view here, and I have a very valid point that other people have raised elsewhere, even on Hoka's own website were they have left reviews. God bless you and have a nice day.
