This was dope. I remember seeing your footage in "Listen" when it came out and was stoked about potential crail ams coming up. So when you were in the Chocolate Tour-I was super hyped. I skate curbs with usually 56-58-60mm wheels and I personally don’t think bigger wheels make it harder for backside slappys. It has more to do with the shape of the wheel, round edge wheels are easier for getting onto slappies than conical wheels but it’s not a super gnarly difference
The video started off with slappy hype and he walked away with a nose manny nollie heel. Lol. This was much needed as I look out the window here in Iowa and see snowflakes. Nice work, Crob!

8.25 w/ 53mm is what you should do instead of the 54 mm. I use 8.5 - 8.75 deck w/ 54 mm but, for transition/bowl/FDR type of skating but, imo 53mm feels best for doing hybrid skating w/ street + transition + cruising around. So I recommend trying a 8.25 + 53mm combo set up.

Definitely the 52mm wheels. The 8.25 is a good size to move up to. I would've killed to find an 8.25 after the early 90s were over. I remember the biggest I could get at a shop was a 7.9.
I went the reverse, from 54 down to 52, and I completely noticed the change in manual pivot point and pop. it's crazy how noticeable it is.
id switch you to the Spitfire Og classic wheel shape. 52mm the wideness will give you what you need. and the sides are a little in, so less heavvvvvvvvy

OF COURSE you missed the pop after switching up those wheels. It´s such a stupid thing in skateboarding that the smallest changes makes the biggest differences. I once tried new trucks and wheels, and on the same day after a few Ollies i gave the whole brand new setup to a kid and bought my old setup again. To this day i never changed it.
