Britannic: Patroness of the Mediterranean. EPISODE 9 Final Episode In this episode we Watch the Sad Demise of HMHS Britannic. as She Slowly Sinks Beneath The Waves.
The last Olympic class built, the RMS/HMHS Britannic, was the last one to sink. RMS Titanic was the second built, first sunk. The RMS Olympic was the first built but never sank, it survived until 1935 when it was finally sold for scrap
What kills me is why the Olympic was scraped and not turned into a museum by this time the world had lost both her sisters Britannic and Titanic would’ve been amazing to walk the decks of the Olympic like we can the Queen Mary
ya but they didnt know that it would be a really historical ship in the future, its like taking a random cruise ship today and turning it into a museum today, we dont know if its gonna be a historical ship like the olympic
but a bay news [TITANIC 2] will cross through atlantic ocean and be the sister of olympic but the [TITANIC 2] but be 10 times bigger than the old [TITANIC]
Strangely compelling, in spite of its minimalist approach. Dad and I never really spoke much about his WWII experiences after enlisting in the USN, but I specifically asked once, "Why did you enlist in the Navy?" "I wanted a clean place to sleep. You don't get that guarantee in the Army." Damn straight answer, no hesitation. My response "Yeah, but boats SINK!!!" I don't recall his comment on my concern. But anyway ... Great sound design in this video. It really got under my skin, and the reason for that is simple, and profound. I can not imagine a more gut-curdling sound than what you'd hear, what would literally shake your bones, as you swam for a lifeboat through the water, and an 80,000 ton vessel sank beneath the waves behind you. It must qualify somewhere in the Top Ten Sounds You Never Want To Hear...
Just when I saw this again I just noticed something: -Lusitania: Attacked and sunk by the German SM U-20, more than 1000 dead. -Response (from the media and the British public): It is a treacherous and cowardly act of the Germans (in addition to a criminal act and they also ask to avenge the loss of the ship), they make posters, fill newspapers with headlines about the attack and even draw posters and make an animated propaganda movie. HMHS Britannic: Also practically attacked by a submarine, SM U-73, the largest ship afloat made by British ... sunk too. Response from the British public and wartime propaganda media: Virtually none remarkable. Very strange attitude, no?
It actually was used as a medical ship and luxury liner and this was not it's first voyage it had been at sea for a long time the Brittanic sank during world war l it sank much faster than it's sister Titanic and it sank sideways due to it listing so much
@@theirishfox1459 yeah we know and it didn't capsize, it didn't hit a full 90° angle, also didn't have to say anything abt the facts since we arent idiots
This is AMAZING! The animation here is beautiful, and so many details are put into here! I really love it when a video accurately shows just how fast she could launch her boats. Overall, an amazing animation! Edit: Apparently this is a game, and that’s even more impressive!
The sinking of HMHS BRITANNIC 1916 was just like the sinking of RMS LUSITANIA 1915, in which both ships exploded by German targets on both starboard sides of each ships. Rest In Peace... LUSITANIA & BRITANNIC
It almost makes you sick to know open portholes are what ultimately sank such a great liner. All the features added after Titanic going down worked as they should have and would have kept her afloat if all that excess water hadn’t gotten in from the open portholes. To anyone who thinks this isn’t true, do a little more research…it’s sad and very confounding but it is a fact. I can’t recall the exact figure but it is tens of tons of water that were let in by each single open porthole and there were hundreds. Even at 10 tons per minute and 50 portholes that’s 30,000 tons in an hour.
I hit a damn mine and accidentally killed 30 people with my port propeller. I didnt mean to kill anyone but the lifeboat got sucked in and torn apart :(
@Zxctox now you are spreading misinformation she was never a ocean liner nor did she have any civilians onboard she only had nurses crew and stewards onboard. stop spreading misinformation

If you are a skilled enough diver and get permission by the Greek government, you could always see the original. She is at a depth of about 400 feet within the Kea Channel in Greece. She is more accessible than titanic which lies 12,600 feet below sea level.
No "the" in front of HMHS. It would be like saying here is the her hat as the H is possessive and is for his or her depending on the monarch. Maybe if her bulkhead doors weren't open and port holes opened to air out the ship, maybe things might have been different? Either way, fortunately she was not loaded with wounded soldiers.
She wasn't that close to the coast. The captain attempted to steer the ship towards the coast ,but she was sinking to quickly. It didn't help that many of her portholes and windows were open at the time she struck the mine (was a nice day). It further increased her sinking rate.
None of us will never know how the sister ships really sank, the movies about them are just theory's, just like the james cameron's one, yeah indeed the ship broke in half but he and you wasn't in there to tell how everything happened, it could have happened in another way different from his movie (theory) of his, so stop believing about what the movie says.
Vanage point. The Sea floor is shallow and the ship is longer than the sea floor than it began tilting fast and sank sideways. And an sea creature began eating it's whole structure scientists said she will be gone in the year 2034. So long.
If only they had their port holes closed while traveling through a war zone😒. Researchers and divers verified numerous port holes open which didn't help.
As someone who loves Sleeping Sun? Better off keeping it out. It’s way overused… and not even fitting if you know the meaning of it (it’s about a particularly beautiful and long-lasting solar eclipse the band saw, hence the “once upon a century” comment), instead of just wanting it in every video on shipwrecks because some guy slapped it in a B-list TV movie 20 years ago…
