- This is the brand new BMW M8 Competition and the very first chance to experience what it's like as we go flat out at the Goodwood hillclimb! The new flagship BMW M8 is a future member of my garage but just wait until you hear how this sounds with a decat exhaust.
Kicking off in the Supercar Paddock, let's take a very quick look at the car before hearing it coming into life - armed with a decat exhaust. For demonstration purposes on the track the car is running with the system as found on the M5 MotoGP Safety Car. At the wheel I'm joining Colin Turkington, current BTCC champion and championship winner, to show us what the car can do.
As we head out there's an opportunity for a bit of fun, surrounded by the most incredible of car line-ups. Then it's time to push on as we blast up the hillclimb to experience the swift and effortless power of the M8 with 625hp from the 4.4l twin turbo V8. Along the way we can demonstrate the different driving M Modes and Setup to show what it offers with the M xDrive system.

I was very excited when the M850i arrived, and even more so now we have the M8, and it certainly lives up to expectations and hopes!

@Charlie M. Really shouldn't affect the value that much. Firstly it's a senna, and therefore very limited and very valuable, any example will hold its value extremely well. It's also arguably the most famous senna out there, so if and when the time does come to sell, you can bet it will sell for a slight premium. I saw people discussing insurance categories the other day but there were some misconceptions. Since it's non-structural damage it isn't too serious, it's being repaired as OEM, and the insurance company will definitely not write it off. Cars are only written off as category N if there is non-structural damage which would cost more to fix than the cost of a new car, where the insurer decides to just buy a new car rather than go through the hassle of fixing it - not the case here.

@@samh9830 Shmee's Senna is probably the most well known of them all, but I really struggle to see why that makes the car more valuable. I just don't think that saying "the car was featured in a lot of the owners youtube videos" makes potential buyers throw more money on the table.

@@clementr agree completely. A smaller stretched grill would look far better. Oh and the instrument cluster looks shit. BMW always had classy round clocks. The new stuff looks lifted out of a daihatsu charade

I've never understood the reason behind having the super extended bonnet on cars like this and the amg gtr I used to think it made them ugly but I have to say it's really growing on me

Little bit off topic but Would you not consider a rentech upgrade for your g63 as in you GTR? Maybe some downpipes or maybe a engine tune!
I wouldn't say I've bought the car with performance as the objective, so making more power than it already has isn't necessarily the plan
The thing about the g63 is that the power is hard to handle. I had the pleasure to drive one for a week and when you floor it it wont go straight but jump left and right all the time. So more power is not really necessary. But an exhaust upgrade is always great

Tim you should decat you’re incoming M8. As well as get it tuned by AC Scertnizer (I apologise about my spelling). Or Evolve in the UK are very good with BMW’s
