I agree with all of these. I would also never buy a luxury raffia or wicker bag. The materials are so simple and they usually have very little hardware so I don’t see the point of spending thousands of dollars on one, especially when much less expensive brands are coming out with so many beautiful designs.
Hi Steph! It sounds as though you are putting considerable thought into what you spend your hard earned money on, which is refreshing. I can be super impulsive at times so it’s nice to see a few less expensive options and recommendations! I too am a huge fan of Zimmermann and have been spying some of the brand’s beautiful unique dresses. Talk about bang for your buck! Great vlog as usual! 🩵
I highly recommend the Polene Cyme Mini; fits everything but a laptop, beautiful, I feel like it’s the only innovative tote design in like decades. I talk about it a lot on my channel! ❤
Great video! I purchased the LV Nice BB two years ago. To protect the interior of the BB, I ordered a liner from Handbag Angels. The BB sits on my vanity and is wonderfully convenient for storing a lot of my skincare and makeup products. The "cost-per-wear" makes it a great purchase for me, especially when I compare it to some of my designer handbags, which are seasonally used or only for special occasions. Take care!❤🇺🇸
2 things I TOTALLY agree with! Designer luggage = literally asking to be stolen. And the Van Cleef/Cartier jewelry, I used to think they were chic but now EVERYONE wears them it’s become boring. At this point I actually think a custom Pandora piece would be cooler
Hi Steph! This is a great video……keep the content coming. I appreciate you relating your past and current pieces in this video and I could not agree with you more. I have a Rimowa suitcase from back in the pre their LVMH takeover , while it is light it did eventually crack. OMG the designer t-shirt rip off hustle is outrageous. They make those tshirts in the sam3 factories as many high street brands and they are a complete money grab by the lux houses. The Zimmerman top is a no brainer and that is exactly what I do. Yes the brands are lazy. Great tip on the simplicity of cuts and fabrics in terms of finding other labels that have the same and sometimes better quality than the lux brands.
Super helpful review of the RSVP parachute. I’ve been eyeing up the tan version. I didn’t realise it had outside pockets! I’m think I’m sold! If it had a zipped pocket inside it would be perfect
Yes I must say I’m impressed with the parachute bag. They only make so many of each style and yours comes with the number inside of which one yours is which I really like! Makes them feel more special
Yay missed ur videos Steph 👏 I recently got a Radley tote bag all leather & a gorgeous bag. There are so many affordable brands offering amazing quality it's really put me off the big designers tbh. 😊
@Handbagholic I got a tan one, I know Radley aren't trendy like Coach right now, but the quality is so good & I like not having the same bag as everyone else 😊
For summertime, I’m happy with my Coach tote bag because it has nice leather and it’s a beautiful cornflower blue colour. I also like my traditional cream linen-canvas bag from France. But for the winter I want a zip tote in a dark colour… I love Aspinal for small leather goods like cosmetic cases! Furla has pretty leather cosmetic cases that go on sale for around $160.
Fun video, Steph! I love the RSVP parachute bag because there's an outside pocket for a cell phone. But being a petite gal, this size would swallow me up. Hope RSVP comes out with a smaller version. ~ Totally agree about luxury suitcases. It only makes sense for people rich enough to travel by private jet. ~ Wearing luxury sneakers is too bougie. It's much cooler to wear trendy brands like On Cloud.
I agree with all you’ve said apart from one - I have always loved seeing you wear your CC necklace. I would certainly like to buy it if you do decide to sell please, as haven’t seen a similar one for sale as yet. I enjoy wearing my Amanda Wakeley bags which are beautiful leather and style, and always get compliments about them from people. ❤xx
If you have the money buy whatever you like, but do not get in debt for q bag. Always designer bags will be better status and look but don’t worth to be in debt.
I agree that designer costume jewellery is a complete waste of money. For fine jewellery however it is a different story. I own pieces from luxury houses such as Cartier and such, and other custom made from a local jeweller and I can definitely tell the difference. I love both, but luxury fine jewellery is just superior in terms of design and finishes. Is it the best value for your money? Certainly not. You will indeed get bigger stones and more gold if you go the local jeweller route. But is it the best, most refined pieces you can get out there? I believe so. It all depends on what you are looking for! Luxury pieces will be, say, 20% better in terms of refinement and craftsmanship. But the price tag will be something like 40% higher. You may decide it’s not worth it for you. This is true for any kind of luxury goods. Another point to consider about fine jewellery is that these items will truly stand the test of time as opposed to most other luxury items, such as bags. A diamond necklace that you wear daily will still look in excellent condition 20 years from now and can really be passed on to your children. A bag will necessarily show heavy signs of wear in such conditions. Therefore, if you think luxury items are worth it for you, I’d argue that jewellery is be the best place to put your money in.
I definitely agree with you about the tote bags, but I have to admit that I find that Polene tote pretty hideous. I love my Mulberry Bayswater tote, it's very low key but great quality and comes in some really lovely colors. Mine is like a mustard yellow!
Completely agree with this list 100%. I did buy a cool Versace necklace but it was deeply discounted and I justified it but otherwise definitely not worth it for jewellery.
Hey there, Steph! I love the look of Polene handbags and accessories; they appeal to my artistic soul and they are affordable enough where I can actually buy something, lol. I was wondering if you still have a promo code for Rosie Fortescue jewelry? I have been wanting a zodiac/constellation necklace like the one you wear since I saw your video where you were sponsored by them. Thanks for sharing your alternatives to high-end brand pieces.
I don't mind designer totes. I love my Chanel 19 shopping bag, the leather is so tactile. I couldn't bring myself to buy any type of designer shoes/ballet flats or sneakers. Too much money too close to the ground 😅
I was just wondering about a Tory Burch, I came across them in bicester Village. would you kindly let us know what your thoughts on that brand I like some of the thing they have but I'm not sure.
Fine, real jewelry made by famous jewelry designers (Cariter, Tiffany, David Webb, Bulgari, etc.) has, in my opinion, better craftsmanship , weight, and settings; they are not just expensive because of logos. Importantly, at auction here in the United States, famous jewelry designers fetch far more than no-name jewelry. Of course, if you pay full retail price, they lose value when you leave the store. I have found it best to buy fine, expensive jewelry at auction and buy only name designer brands. If you resell, you will get a very high resale price.
Hi Steph, i totally agree with what you are saying however i can’t help but feel like the comparisons you have made shouldn’t really be any different to anything else. at the end of the day when we buy luxury we are buying the name. the quality of a polene /demelier bag is no different to some of the £2,3,4000 …and how can a bag be worth 10k? is it any different to the beautiful celine you have?
Aww do you not like it? I really like it, but I think the oversized one would be even cooler. It's nice we all have different tastes and styles, keeps fashion fun! thank you ❤
My husband bought me a Louis Vuitton suitcase from an estate sale. The leather is all chewed up from a mouse. But we’re going to get it fixed someday. He got it at a great price. But who would buy a suitcase like that and not take care of it? I’m not sure what it cost new, but I sure wouldn’t let a rodent chew up a designer suitcase. He also bought me a Reporter bag. And the strap broke. The other one was replaced. So that I will get fixed really soon. But it is a very heavy bag. And since the other side was replaced it should be good to use.
I think they only make a certain number of each bag then stop making them, I think currently sold out but really hoping they bring it back! I think they sell fast.

Can’t beat the longchamp le pilage tote.
I absolutely love the Chanel trainers. They are pricey, but extremely comfortable. Pre-loved is an amazing option, can get them at 1/3 of the price
Yes I have heard they are super comfy, they do look really nice. Great idea buying pre-loved! Do you find they run true to size?
They are very true to size yes!

Thanks so much Ruth! 💖 yes I’m trying my best to not be too impulsive with my buys. Still working on it 😄 do keep me updated on any Zimmermann finds!
We missed you, girl! Hope you had a nice break, welcome back!
Missed you too! 💖💖
Cuyana tote is one I wanna try too! Completely agree with you on all points! 🙌🏼
Such sensible advice and tips. Am definitely getting much more thoughtful about where the $$ go. Made some similar mistakes but we live and learn.
Thank you for your honest opinions on these items. It makes sense!
I love the De Millier bags
Love the Parachute 💞 Thank you for sharing.
you're welcome, it's a really lovey bag I'm impressed
I highly recommend the Polene Cyme Mini; fits everything but a laptop, beautiful, I feel like it’s the only innovative tote design in like decades. I talk about it a lot on my channel! ❤
I agree a really gorgeous design for a simple bag that works really well and looks way more interesting than a standard tote.
I love that you did this video because the prices are so high. This away I can by made two bags in stead of one bag. Thank you as always!
You're welcome! Let me know which ones you decide to go for :)
Well said especially the costume jewelry
👌👌
Thank you for all the helpful tips!
You’re welcome Michele 💖

Completely agree.
Love this !!
So glad you liked ❤️

I really liked the looked of the oversized parachute bag but can’t find it on the website?

Haha very wise words - too much money too close to the ground! I like that 😁 very true
I have the Lily & Bean luggage set which you can personalise

Agreed: New Balance is way trendier than Chanel sneakers/trainers. I save my $$ for lovely handbags, and go with affordable sneakers.
Does anyone else think the parachute bag is so ugly? Love your videos Steph 🫶
Aww do you not like it? I really like it, but I think the oversized one would be even cooler. It's nice we all have different tastes and styles, keeps fashion fun! thank you ❤

Sadly, Rimowa is part of LVMH now! For the brand the price feels quite luxury now😅!
Just to correct, all gold coloured plating is gold, it the depth of plating is variable and affects the longevity of the piece.
I only see the medium parachute. Where did you see the large?
I think they only make a certain number of each bag then stop making them, I think currently sold out but really hoping they bring it back! I think they sell fast.
698 pounds for a simple tshirt with just a logo painted on it is unbelievable it's actually hilarious
I actually move since 20yrs with 10 Rimowas
I don’t buy the bag, I buy the designer label.
@@felicia2463 would you buy a bag you don’t like just for it’s logo?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Unfortunately Aspinal discontinued the vanity case
First time I hear people pronounce “Nike” in 1 syllable.
Your recommendations are not my cup of tea.😅
Luxury is the intersection of preference and quality
Price doesn’t always reflect quality or value! 🫠
