OMG...the chorus...goosebumps. This song was why I started listening to Dimmu...in 1999...had the satellite tv on the metal channel and was in my room cleaning. When I heard this chorus coming from the living room...I slowly walked in there..not believing my ears...thank you ICS Vortex.
Those few months in mid 1999 had the best Dimmu line-up ever: Shagrath, Silenoz, Astennu, Vortex, Barker and Mustis. The time before Galder join it and after Tjodalv left.
Absolutely. All the best pieces are there. Barker is unbelievably good, but I cannot dismiss Tjodalv. I got to see them with Tioldav and Dark Funeral in Dodheimsgard, and that show was on par if not BETTER than the one in this vid.
I had the pleasure to see Dimmu Borgir when Tjodalv was still in the band, AND when Nick was still in Cradle of Filth. saw both bands in 1999 just months apart that year. seeing how much both these bands have changed since then, and they being my 2 favorite black metal bands ever, i feel immensely blessed. everyone here is right though. Tjodalv is a great drummer, but Nick is a great replacement for him. And Adrian being a great replacement for Nick on Cradle's side of things. for me, both bands hit their peak between 1999 - 2002 with those changes in drummers and what those lineups produced, but unfortunately things went down hill in the years that followed (just my opinion). I slowly lost interest when after Death Cult Armegeddon came out, and when Cradle released Damnation And A Day. for me those were their last great albums.
why so fast?that's doesn't even make any sense they skip beats/bars.... that take the identity of the music away ........ sounds so strange, the sound is almost unrecognizable ..
I saw Vortex playing with Borknagar recently in 2022 and the amount of talent that guy has is just insane.Dimmu borgir is dead for me.
Same. Vortex and Mustis were he heart of the band.
@@serpent_lord4 Mustis's piano/Keyboard skills contained the whole magick for me, dimmu is just pathetic now
Dimmu sound like a techno band now.
@@felipelovecraft1767 exactly, even their latest album was just a techno ASMR mix

Me like holy shit Tjodakv is on point like never before, but ni, It was Nic fucking Barker at it already😂
Holy Shit. Barker fn ruling it.
Cradle and Borgir will never get over the Barker era.
Best version I've heard of this song ever. Having Barker on the drums makes the big difference
Hellhammer wasnt bad also ;-)
that vortex growl at the end... sublime
Dude I had no fucking idea he could do that and now I’m like ofcourse he can!
Easily the best Dimmu lineup. Still had Astennu, that is the key. and just got Barker...
Id kill to hire Astennu to do a guest lead on one of my songs haha
But yeah honestly I have to 100% agree this is the best Dimmu lineup
Yup. Astennu, Vortex, Mustis, Barker. Check, check, check.

Ami país argentina vinieron año 2012 y 2018. Pero esa época de año 90 fue la mejor para todos
The best lineup \m/, excellent material.
Dude I fuckin swear Dimmu Borgir and Obsidian Gate were such game changer bands right before the turn of the millennium
Whoa!!! This is dimmu borgir.
One of their best album, still dont know why they don't play many songs from it on the gigs, anyways they rule!!
There is no way without Vortex
and you wouldn't want to hear shaggy attempt to sing them either nowadays, holy crap he's even worse then before
Without Mustis on keyboard and vortex with his clean vocals and the new weak shagrath voice ?
Too heavy for the actual Dimmu
Vortex Amazing,,,,,, we miss you 😢!!!!!
Voice vortex crazy
one of most great lineup
I was there!! Thank you for the upload!!!
Loving those hair flips and accidentally coordinated headbangs at 3:50 and 4:17

Their last pure black metal album. The production even sounds shit live. Great song though.
