I would get excited about the nettles as well! We use it in soups and stews : )

Very helpful video, I've had a large patch of garlic mustard show up in a garden corner this year and decided not to mow it this weekend. Didn't know what it was but thought it looked useful for insects, so glad I didn't now!

Yep, the issue of caterpillar food sources is usually overlooked. It's all about attracting butterflies to your garden lol 😂 Lovely roadside garden there 🎉

What beautiful flowery roadsides. In the Netherlands you only see this in the far south and east... Although, I shouldn't complain. Here in the west there are endless roadsides with buttercups and cow parsley. With lots of hoverflies.

They've just mowed a big grassland by us, thousands of dandelions and daises gone.

I hate blue bells, they get EVERYWHERE and are impossible to get rid of.

You've probably got Spanish Bluebells they are rather a dominant flower. These are wild English Bluebells rather delicate take a very long time to establish and very easily removed but should never be as they're a native wildflower whereas the Spanish one isn't.

@@wildlifegardener-tracey6206 Probably, the ones growing in m yard (and neighbors) go EVERYWHERE! When we dig hem, some bulbs are over 15" under the soil and have millions of lentil size babies that are hard to find and remove. They propagate by bulb AND seed. Such a pain.

‘Get in touch with the management and voice your concerns’ is all I receive from the council every time I ask them to spare some patches of wild flowers along the verges 🥹 so disappointing!
