It’s not ballet though, maybe that’s why you were confused. I think you confused the word ballet and dance together, ballet is dance, but dance is not ballet.

Lately gymnasts have set the bar for dancing so high, that people with regular skills and a passion for dance are held to much higher physical standards, which makes it highly competitive and the idea about dance in general is to show your love for movement and expression, not emphasizing these superlative physical expressions that are seen in rhythmic gymnastics.
je me suis fait la même réflexion, la performance physique est stupéfiante, mais à mille lieues de ce qu’on est en droit d’attendre d’une danseuse « classique » de ballet selon les anciens critères. Le mélange des genres est gênant, mais peut-être sommes nous tous deux trop « old style » pour apprécier ce nouveau style. Mes respects à la danseuse-gymnaste et mes larmes sur ce qui faisait nos délices passées. 😢
I love the dancers and the rhythmic gymnasts who turn a music bearable or even beautiful when performing on it!

Because this is not ballet, it’s contemporary, whole reason why she’s wearing no thighs and no shoes, and it’s completely different from ballet

Yes this is contemporary but it is ballet based. Everly mainly trains in ballet (20 hours a week of ballet).
@@udkeljdkla1414 It is very different but her ballet is what allowed her to do what the choreographer wanted. :)
