The late Robin Williams visited Christopher Reeve and helped him snap out of his depression after the unfortunate accident. He made him laugh for the first time since before it occurred. They knew each other from when they were at the same theatre at the beginning of their prospective careers.
Isn't it ironic that RW could help someone out of depression but not himself....to this day I am convinced that some of us will die by our own hands by SANE SOUND choice...and when one is ready to go...there is nothing anybody can do about it!
You know with Reeve at the end there, I remember reading that the guy who got him out of that suicidal funk was no one other than Robin Williams, who got him to laugh for the first time since the incident, and he, Mr Reeve's made the best of it after all that by trying to raise awareness of these kind of injuries and to get people to fund research into it to help others with his condition. So the man of steel fell, but persevered and helped others even in the worst time of his life. so even then he was a real life hero, just in a different way.
Margot Kidder's quote at 8:08 has always stuck with me. Unfortunately, there are many studios, directors, and writers out there that don't understand this.
***** No insecurity here.None at all. But, when one calls a person a "Piece of Shit" without any further explanation, one would think that the reason is stupid that he wouldn't want to mention why. Which lead to you being upset that he banged those white broads. If you can clarify your comment, I may consider deleting my original post.
Yellowjacket Hawky: The Ultimate Badass So what you're saying is you're hung up on race. Thanks for clarifying why you didn't clarify why you went directly to assuming it was about race even though there was nothing typed about race.
I 100% agree. I love the Chris Reeve Superman films (especially IV!) the Michael Keaton/Val Kilmer/George Clooney Batman films, the Adam West Batman film and series, as well as the various cartoons of the time too (Superfriends, Scooby-Doo meets Batman, etc.) Too bad today's films aren't like these were! I think the MCU is absolute garbage. DCEU a little bit less so, but even then, now they're just making dark, Oscar bait, R rated films. These films were, just like the comics, to be enjoyed by ALL AGES! And could still pull off dark scenes (Ill Superman in IV, Evil Superman vs Clark Kent in Superman III, etc.)
I like Marvel films (hate the DCEU though) but Superman 4 is far from a bad film. It's just very cheap looking, but the cast make up for it, and I find it really entertaining.
Wait, how at 11:30 was Christopher Reeve able to use his legs in turning those bicycle pedals? I thought he had absolutely NO control (movement) over his body except for his head?
He actually was beginning to regain some mobility. (Could move some fingers and had feeling back nearly everywhere by the time he died) If it wasn't for that adverse effect from the medications, he just might have gotten better. Probably not pre-accident better, but a lot better off than he was. RIP.
Richard Pryor, I am sorry Jenn I ever hurt you. I wish I had known better, I wouldn't have. Jennifer, we were young and stupid, 1 linear by Richard we were young you were stupid. This man was a comic genius even when he was in poor health.
Think Superman III was bad? OK it was, but in the early drafts of Superman the Movie script, the Salkinds wanted to have Superman fly after a bald man running down a street that he thinks is Lex Luther. He would swoop down and then at the last minute Telly Savalas would turn around and say who loves' ya baby? Then offer him a lollipop.
The problem with that film is it had too many relevant scenes removed. I had access to them and the editing tools, I could fix it up into a decent film, even if not as great as the first two.
I hate Superman 3 and 3, the Richard Donner films are by far the best in the franchise, the Donner cut of Superman 2 is by far superior to the Lester version and GOD DAMN Richard Pryor was such an unfunny overrated tool
I disagree. It was heavily flawed, and it was two films in one which dragged each other down, but the Evil Superman and Smallville parts were great. The junkyard fight alone was one of the best in the entire series. A waste yes, but a complete waste? Not even close.

sound?. it seems to be working fine. :)
Rip to Kidder and Reeves. Lois and Superman together again...😔😔
She was good friends with Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill
Richard Pryor Almost on his death bed Cracking jokes. Gotta Love Em.
lol Richard Pryor could be funny but he was still a piece of shit, I don't have to love em', and I sure as hell don't.
Still can't get over him banging those white women, huh?
Yellowjacket Hawky: The Ultimate Badass How long have you been insecure about race? Must make enjoying life tough.

How bizarre!. There's no audio copyright blocking on the video so its all very strange.
You can't just assume that because a funny guy is in a movie that his presence alone will make it funny.
"Richie Pryor's in love with Lois Lane!", Classic.
Superman 4 is my all time favourite superhero film.
Way better than anything in the MCU and DCEU.

MCU movies put together are better than Superman 4
Superman 3 was a financial hit, though it didn't make as much as the first two. It was a critical flop, but not a financial flop.
so true
9:09 dissolved girl? Odd choice but very wonderful to hear
Superman 3 didn't flop in theaters. Even this documentary got it wrong.
Yeah, at worst you could say it underperformed at the box office in comparison to expectations.
11:58 do you think he's Damien all grown up
Wait, how at 11:30 was Christopher Reeve able to use his legs in turning those bicycle pedals? I thought he had absolutely NO control (movement) over his body except for his head?
Danimal300zx they’re moving him dumbass he isn’t moving the pedals.

Christopher Reeve was lucky to get even tgat much movemnts back in his legs!
He could not move his legs. It was a motorized bicycle.
People didn't come to the theatre to watch Superman 4 because of all the headlines around Kidder and Pryor with their bad reputations.
I saw it in the cinema. I was 10 though, and I loved it. Even now, as cheap looking as it is, it's still fun.
SUPERMAN 3. Could have been great. Its still an entertaining film. The Smallville story was good. With just a few changes it could have been great
7:55 And here, Superman declares himself a god.
There was no curse, you get older and you can't walk the tightrope anymore.
6:14 that some real shit
Superman III is what the Salkind's wanted Superman The Movie to be, a slapstick comedy..
I doubt that. if that were true then the first movie would have been that way as they produced that as well. They had more power than Donner.
04:56 another hiccup.
IT'S OK. I DONT FIND PRIOR FUNNY TOO.
Richard Pryor, I am sorry Jenn I ever hurt you. I wish I had known better, I wouldn't have. Jennifer, we were young and stupid, 1 linear by Richard we were young you were stupid. This man was a comic genius even when he was in poor health.
4 wasnt to bad well sadly it went down hill after number 2

superman 4 was an abomination
james dean i used to think so too. but it really isn't
Mark Pillow wasn't a great actor.
The problem with that film is it had too many relevant scenes removed. I had access to them and the editing tools, I could fix it up into a decent film, even if not as great as the first two.
Richard ex looks dodgy lol
Why couldn't you see him changing his life?
I did not know Richard Pryor was with Margot Kidder lucky fella she was hot.
No she wasn't
The blonde was hot dumbass
Lets hope Lawrence Fishburne doesn't mess up Man of Steel Lol
I hate Superman 3 and 3, the Richard Donner films are by far the best in the franchise, the Donner cut of Superman 2 is by far superior to the Lester version and GOD DAMN Richard Pryor was such an unfunny overrated tool
Richard Lester was a disaster for Superman. Bad, untalented director.
Oh shut up you butthurt idiot. Lester was a fine director, he maybe just wasn't right for Superman, but those films were far from awful.
Superman 3 was a complete waste of a film.
I disagree. It was heavily flawed, and it was two films in one which dragged each other down, but the Evil Superman and Smallville parts were great. The junkyard fight alone was one of the best in the entire series. A waste yes, but a complete waste? Not even close.
