I have been using this phone for a week , it's awesome , super fast , battery life is great , camera is pretty good too , but the inside selfie camera is average , slightly better than fold 5, but everything else feels like a upgrade
I changed from fold 5 to this , but the Samsung software and AI is definitely missed by me 😊
Yes the software isn’t quite as good as OneUI but everything else feels like a big upgrade.

Quite literally the only foldable I'm looking up to right now. Looking real good, shame Vivo doesn't exist in Europe. We gotta bring them over.

Nice review. How does it compare to the Vixo X100 series? Speaking of cameras, it's been a while since you reviewed a Huawei foldable. I know that they were supposed to be really good in this area.
Great video. I have vivo X Fold 1 and it's fantastic. X Fold 3 Pro camera seems could get better shots even, if you confim there's a eligible difference from previous X Fold

I remember that lcd screens at school, that were without solid glass, creating mosaic and rainbow at touch... but colors/contrast were nice. should be something similar with foldables.
Is there Horizontal splitscreen? Reviewers dont really have an idea on how splitscreen works. How many windows can you split not including pop up windows. Option for all Apps to force multiwindows?

Hi, at 14:10 in the video you say that you can stretch the app over the area reserved for the status bar whilst in landscape. Is this a global setting that applies to all apps within Funtouch's system setting? And if so why do you have it turned off? Does it negatively affect app usage? Also are I notice there is no taskbar, are you hiding that as well? Or is it like the pixel fold where you swipe up to show the taskbar? And final question (sorry) what is the launcher customisation like? Can you hide app labels (the name under the app icon)? Thanks in advance, great video.
originOS handles it better I’m sure as it wasn’t stretched but still a gap you can set to hide the camera but then that’s a big black bar. As for the taskbar at the bottom I hide that yes I prefer using the whole screen.

1:45 funny you mention kickstand cases, the X Fold3 Pro has the opposite of flex mode where if you place the phone face down while partially unfolded the cover screen will instead turn on as if it has a kickstand (but turn on Smart Screen Shift on the settings)
I showed that in the video but I mean to have the whole screen and the kickstand case to prop it all up not the phone itself loosing half the screen is a bit silly.
Great phone and review. Only wish that BBK Group use same OS in all global versions... they are just better overall.
It would be nice as the OxygenOS and ColourOS UI is better overall than FunTouch. The Find N3 Fold it's so good the software.
Does anyone know what you'd do if you damaged these phones and how you'd insure them/get them fixed
Awesome phone. I just wonder how a folding phone would do compared to a none folding phone in the hands of a person that drops them every few months. Is it likely to be damaged in some way quite easily, or typically do they do comparably well after being dropped. Does anybody know? Thanks for the awesome video Chris.
For me, Is more appealing when it folded, maybe because of the aspect ratio, it looks slimmer..

He's great, the poor guy was dumped in a box with 2 others next to a trash dumpster. Vera isn't too happy about it so far but getting better. I feel bad for her it's a big change.

Yes The K30Pro Zoom realy was something special.The only thing i miss is a 90Hz Display and it would have been the pervect midrange Phone in2020.Back than Smartphones were fun and exciting.Since then the X100Ultra is the first Phone i'm realy interested in and excited to use.

UD camera is must have for inner screen especially considering that quality doesn't seem that different on vivo X Fold 3 Pro
The quality is waaaaay better than the quality of an UD Camera, especially for video recording
I got the white one under origin OS and I gotta say that my outer screen is exactly the same than my inner screen. Dunno why you say otherwise. We got settings about it and we can enable or disable it 😅
Love Origin OS and after spending lots of time on it, everything looks like a global one. Love it so much 💪 💯
Yes but I was just showing how that is a good thing having it the same so you know where you're apps are close or open. OriginOS seems better optimised and those widgets it has. Even the gallery photo editor has more features on the Chinese ROM.

I Love foldable devices! Made the switch on a fold 3, and haven't looked back. But, no stylus support(and I have a Xiaomi Mix Fold 3), is something I just can't overlook. Pretty devices, yes, but I need to be able to write, when needed..
Oneplus Open and Find N3 Fold have the style support not as thin and light but very good foldables. The Magic V2 I reviewed worth noting but not as good software.
@@Techtablets actually my issue with "my" V2, isn't the software at all. It's the inner screen that I've had replaced once(sent back to China on my 170.00 some), and did the same once again. As I said, I've had foldables, and not one screen issue. On the V2, it has happened twice in less than 6 months.. The software isn't perfect, but neither is Samsungs (and this comes from over a decade of Samsung exclusively) whatsoever. Not to mention, the price of the folds, along with Samsung being stuck in a "broken mold". And one plus, just never been a fan of them or their devices..
The global or the Chinese one which is better and how much is both devices please
Chineses model has no Android auto but I think originOS is better.
I hope they can put X100 Ultra's camera in this even if it will be thicker for Fold 4 Ultra😁

It got actually bigger battery than the rest of big names, capacitate pen is usable tho.

@ashwin2101 finger replacement, pen with a tip, well, still better than my thick fingers with a point in the middle of finger.
Though I use S21U I got pen from samsung note 3 with broken tip slightly, not origi al but works well, but not what I wanted to say lol.
Though 4000types of pressure and non-capacitive pen support is more precise, the biggest value of my used broken pen is ability to see the point of touch and content on the screen I want to edit, which is impossible with a finger...
So it depends on how precise you need that pen to be...
BTW, capacitive stylus on aliexpress was with te sharp tip, at least from what I could see, so it looked like a pen, not just a stick with round end...I wouldn't recommend otherwise... best if you see for yourself, try to search for capacitive or capacitance pen for vivo fold3.

It's so nice, great screens and by far the best foldable cameras there are but still they fall short of the X100 Pro/Ultra of course.

Yes it can
While this looks good, vivo will not have my business after my X90 pro purchase. Had an issue, called vivo, they said I hadn't activated my warranty on phone, went to do it, wouldn't register. Sent a copy of receipt and screenshots, a year later and they say it's my fault warranty won't activate!! Still don't mow why I couldn't use camera app, but after 3 phone resets, began working. Don't like also how they, oppo, Honor won't make a global version of their top phones.

Average Dad Tech Store has Global and Chinese ROM. Ships to the USA. Chinese ROM is nearly £700 cheaper (UK based) so you would have to really want that Global ROM for the price difference!

You can get the global version for £1600 everything included from Trinity Electronics which is £160 cheaper than average dad and obviously average dad is buying it from Trinity Electronics and then selling it (I don't trust that guy at all) so the difference between the global and Chinese version is only £420. Average dad has the Chinese version for £1150 + 30 shipping.

This thing is launched in India and with offers it has the price below fold 5/6. But still costly device with best foldable feature ever.
I am thinking and rethinking wheather I switch from S23 ultra. If it would gave 7 years of software update (at least 5 yr) just like Samsung it would have been great. Only 3 software update currently its offering😢
both fingerprint scanners are ultrasonic (they do not light up in the dark) and not optical as you state in the video

Don't know why Vivo not making a global originOS for international market. I bought the China version 2 months ago and as a guy I need to travel China occasionally, the Chinese ROM is much better and with Google framwork ready anyway

Why would the software be buggy? Vivo software no matter if Origin OS or Funtouch OS does very rarely have bugs

X Fold 3 Pro beats Samsung in every hardware aspect but what I believe is Samsung beats Vivo in the software department, we shall wait until the launch of the Z Fold6. I own the X100 Pro while I think it’s the camera king for now, the sofrware is pretty lackluster.
OneUI is better I agree, and then we get Dex.

The biggest problem with anything "non samsung" is they haven't got cool color science from camera but yellowish one, but also no yhe most important: electronic ND, which only samsung got.
There is no point even comparing without that...
What about elephant in the room - eSIM support? So unfortunate this phone doesn't support it and for me this feature is critical.

Camera bump is unnecessary huge. Why? It should be minimal or none existence. The RedMagic 9 Pro has none.
Problem is, they priced it way too high.
Like all foldables they aren't cheap.
@@Techtablets Vivo is not as big as Samsung, Vivo should have adopted the OnePlus way to reach heights i.e. "Flagship Killer" approach. No doubt that the XFold3Pro is 10 times better than Fold6, but for customers to realise it, they have to use it, for that to happen it needs to be cheaper than the competition.

Since long ago, samsung folds lost to others. Only what's good to samsung is the software. Nevertheless hardware design sucks
100% right I wish this phone had samsung software...
It's around 2 millions indonesia rupiah which converted to around $2.2k in my local currency. It's the same price as Oppo Find N3. So if it does come to my country i can expect that price. Since Oppo and Vivo is under same parent company, it's highly likely.
I don't know if should wait, Honor Magic V3 will be coming soon but probably available next year just like the V2. China manufacturers are so slow and late to bring their phone in.
So the only foldable that is possible to buy is Z Fold 6. A shame because Samsung is very underwhelming now. No notable upgrade. Ugly crease and narrow screen.

The front facing camera is "1080p"? It looks like something like bas 360p actually. I dont even know how something like this is possible these days anymore (much less on supposedly flagship phones that cost an absurd amount of money).. honestly I don't understand Chinese brands, their strategies or what they are thinking. Anyway, I'm sure they'll sell lots of them and more power to them.
