This is not the Prom performance from 1982. It's the Prom performance from 3rd August 1978 : Christopher Seaman conducted the BBC Symphony Orchestra and BBC Singers with Janet Baker (Orfeo), Jill Gomez (Euridice) and Elizabeth Gale (Amor).
Hello David, sorry only just spotted this. I'm really sorry if I've messed up on the specific performance here since I've done my utmost to cross check all performances before uploading. This was one of the few cases where my original tapes were not clearly marked and I had to work out the details from the BBC Proms Archive. Unfortunately there's a problem with the database for this work and if you search by composer which I did then there's no hyperlink to the actual prom listings. So I searched on Janet Baker and came up with the 1982 performance and was not aware of the 1978 one. My mistake. Before I regenerate it all to ensure accuracy I hope you won't mind if I ask what made you spot that it was the 1978 performance? Is it the version of the opera since the proms archive does reference a performance of the original 1762 version (but without any link to it) or by some other means. Many thanks for pointing this out since accuracy is very important. Best wishes Andrew
