  • Last year I started getting into ice bathing for an abundance of reasons. My setup has evolved with time, and I absolutely love what I have now. I found that I like to keep it around 7 celsius, and the InkBird does that perfectly.
    UPDATE posted at the bottom.
Where to buy the parts (Amazon links):
    1. Chest freezer (Kenmore 15 Cu.ft) $300 - used on Facebook marketplace
    2. UV light to keep algae from growing - amzn.to/43cJuAo
    3. Water filter, circulation & oxygen-adding system (480 GPH or 1,800 L/H). This is the only item I might upgrade later - amzn.to/3PN07PU
    4. Epsom Salt to keep water clean and it feels great - amzn.to/3NK10Gn
    5. GFCI Extension plug, safety first! amzn.to/3O5d1aH
    6. Inkbird WIFI controlled temperature system - amzn.to/3DoZW6h
    7. Clear Silicone Waterproof Sealant - amzn.to/3JP9yuD
    8. Waterproof Patch and Seal Tape - amzn.to/3JRuukG
    9. Grounded Switch Tap with on/Off Button - amzn.to/3JRawGJ
    10. Scrubber Brush - amzn.to/3rgNQZT
    11. Hand Skimmer - amzn.to/3O901Be
    12. Spa Vacuum - amzn.to/3ub8n3P
    13. Bluetooth Bone Conduction Headphones - amzn.to/3PPAdeu
I use the headphones for work, jogging, etc. They are really cool technology.
All prices are in CAD (Canadian funds).
Time to channel your inner Wim Hof ;)
    UPDATE (One year later):
~ The freezer works perfectly, I love it
~ The epsom salt and filter surprising keep it very clean
~ Make sure to clean out the filter once and a while
~ The UV light is defective and stopped working, they refuse to replace it
    ~ Zero leaks to report!
~ The bottom of the freezer collect dust from outside that the hand skimmer won't pick up so I added a spa vacuum (amzn.to/3ub8n3P)
~ The sticker on the front of the Inkbird fell off, they sent a new one

Thanks! great video. How do you change the water? Is there a opening at the bottom? Do you see any problems to keep that system outside in Germany? I mean because of the rain sometimes snow in the winter a minus degrees. Thanks in advance.

Hi Hannes! I leave mine out year-round, and it gets to -15 Celsius (rarely, but it can happen). There is a drain at the bottom of the freezer. I keep this covered so it isn't touched by rain or snow. The filter system works surprisingly well for what I paid for it. I do refresh (clean out) the filter every 3 to 4 months. The bag of Epsom salts really keeps it clean. I only need to change the water every six months, and realistically, I probably don't even need to then. It's still very clean at that point. I don't go in with sunscreen on, and I'm generally a very clean person, so I wouldn't contribute immensely to polluting the tub. I do use a suction system to get any dust that accumulates on the bottom, as well as a skimmer for the top. I'll add those links in the description if I haven't already. They're cheap and very helpful.
