ND has a long tradition of presidents speaking at ND irrespective of party affiliation. JFK, Reagan, Carter, and may others. Eisnehauer. In fact, General Sherman back in the civil war era as well. The booing was because ND is the oldest and most important Catholic School in america. It is spectacular institution with excellence oozing from the walls. UN General Secretary Kofi Annan at my commencement. Pretty awesome.
Nice to realize that I voted once for Ronald Reagan, second time around and the first time for Barack Obama! Both transformational leaders who helped make America the great country it is in 2012! The heckler need a life! This is not the forum to criticize but to admire and respect! I went to Syracuse University which I am very proud. Though Catholic I wish I would have the drive to attend the University of Notre Dame! An extraordinary speech. I love Notre Dame.
