- In this talk Alishah shares her difficult journey of coming out as a transperson yet breaking barriers and achieving her dreams. Alisha is a Coordination Consultant for Gender Minorities, in association with the Youth Empowerment Programme. She has an MPhil degree in Education Planning Management (EPM) from BahaUddin Zakaria University, Multan and has experience working with Engro Foods Company as an assistant accountant. She with the Youth Empowerment Project team and other development partners devotes her time towards ensuring full inclusiveness in all programme activities.
Transgender Populations in Pakistan faces many issues such as recognition of their identity, access to opportunities, healthcare, psycho-social support, gainful employment, engagement opportunities, justice, and most importantly, the need to promote respect and freedom. Alisha is committed to counter all these key issues with her professional expertise. Her goal is to be a part of something bigger rather than just trying to survive on a daily basis. She strongly believes in human rights for all and is a leader in change, working for a well reputed organization. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
You are an inspiration Alishah, May Allah ease your heart ❤️
starting 5 minutes just blow my mind Alishah
My namesake. An inspiration. 'Extreme hope is born amidst extreme misery.' You are a ray of hope for the oppressed and downtrodden out there. Keep inspiring and motivating us. Proud of myself that I'm part of a society that has people who are the epitome of perseverance, endurance, sacrifice and achievement. Dear world, this is us. Yes, us. Pakistanis. Who can beat any challenge--be it terrorism, extremism and social taboos--and come out with flying colors.
You're such an inspiration, shine bright. ❤️
I can only say after listening this - God help those who help themselves.👏👏👏👏.
