Haha yeah I remember you saying you don’t like long form videos! Good effort for making it through! Hopefully the views pick up on this one so it was a little more worth the pain! Thanks for watching bud
When I do this in Alaska my biggest challenge is being bored. That and not getting stepped on by a moose. Coldest Ive done out was -40F below. Thanks for taking us along. Greetings from frozen Alaska.
Agree, could have done with some whiskey or friends haha! I think I’d want some actual kit to tackle -40. The roaring fire helps massively of course but some actual kit and shelter would make it abit more… fun.
@@aoifel77 thanks, this one was more just roughing it out than using any kind of bushcraft skills etc. Will be nice to do one in the warmer months with actual shelter and some bushcraft stuff
Good job, you survived. I've got to say it didn't look fun! Do you have many suitable rocks nearby for a heat reflection test (rock reflecting fire's heat back)? You could compare with the spruce wall. Although, I wouldn't want to repeat it if I were you!
Yeah it was not the weather to be digging around for rocks. Could of done with some to warm up my boots too! Wasn’t overly bad, but was it worth it in terms of a video? Dunno!
Yeah long fires work well. Everything was so frozen I was happy to just get a fire lit and maintained! Wasn’t the best wood laying around and it had been all under snow for a few weeks beforehand
👊
Sweet! Thanks for the super thanks 🙏
When you run out of Les Stroud to watch, the Nordskov got you covered! 👍
Haha , Les Stroud would be better equipped! Thanks for watching
Well done
Cheers very much for the super thanks!
Loving your channel, pure grit & determination.
Thanks very much that’s appreciated! And thanks for watching and commenting too
Subscribed! I love those environments, but the main problem is keeping my body dry.
Thanks for the sub!
You crazy man!! Big respect to ya for makin it through man. Truly gripping stuff.
Wasn’t too bad. Wish I’d planned more etc and not filmed and released it the next day. Always learning!
Kudos to you dude. You could've very easily said f*ck this,an gone back home! Nice video! Much love!
Cheers!
Nearly spat my tea out when you said "don't try this at home kids... Ridiculous". Good video mate.
Haha! Awesome. Yeah probably not best for the kids… glad ya enjoyed it bud.
impressive dude, some determination needed. Lighting a fire with a ferro rod is no joke in that situation too :0
Had to scrape off a fair chuck onto birch paper to get it lit… keeping it lit was a task! Thanks for watching bud
Coffee as essential surviving gear ;-)
Indeed! Shame I didn’t have more and it was the cheapest freeze dried coffee you can get. Either way it really helps when it’s that cold
Like the way you said warmer in the morning.. - 18c haha
Ha was even sunshine on the walk back!
You nearly kicked that coffee over!
Did I? Didn’t even notice ha
I was scared for the coffee too!
@@ChrisThomas-fm6co I’ll have to rewatch it…
Tough as nuts!!
Nuts being the operative word! Hah thanks for watching and commenting. Hope your well?
Usually I wouldn't commit to a 30 minute video. But this captivated me from beginning to end. Fair play to you man. Really enjoyed the vid 🤟

Chilly biscuits!
@@thenordskov glad you’ve still got fingers and toes!
@@MindMakeoverYork thanks, yeah my toes were hurting!!
Such a great video. I do not know how you did that! Your survival skills are incredible.

@@thenordskov cool video!
Cheers bud
Couldn't find dead trees and cut them? And use the small branches to enclose the camp fire and sleep area to block the wind?? Wow.
Could of done a lot of things. The point is to do without. I guess you didn’t watch all the video or listen to anything that’s said in the video. Wow.
