guys, NOBODY can appreciate this song unless they understand it. these assholes talking crap are jealous and immature, this song has SAVED people. thats the greatest gift Josh has ever given us. Trenchers
I always though that when Josh said it was so hard to sing, he was talking about the incredible vocal range. But now I realize he's talking about having to relive that terrible time he sings Lover Dearest.
You can hear the raw emotion in his voice.. having gone through this so roughly and making it through alive, you can just see what kind of person he is now. He even stated how hard it was for him to sing it in the start. Josh is my idol. Having insomnia, bulimia [I have/had both too], been through heroin and possibly other drugs along the way before that, I just... wow. People hate him and I don't get how. He was able to pull through it so well, against all odds. Joshua Ramsay, you are my idol.
I always immediately start crying as soon as he starts singing. Not only because it's an insanely powerful and emotional song, and Josh has the voice of a million angels, But also because the song is about Josh's previous addiction. And I always think about how if I had suffered from an addiction similar to his, I would in no way have the strength like he has to write several songs about them and then record them onto an album and sing them over and over again for several performances. That takes some serious courage. I wish I had that much courage, but I don't, sadly.
its amazing how he fought the drug addiction and is able to sing about it. hes such an inspiration, his voice is beautiful. who knows how many people he helped? Josh Ramsay was put on earth for a reason and I personally think hes an angel. i cant imagine what goes through his head while singing this): hes a strong person though
This so beautiful. Knowing Josh and his struggles with his life and how he puts it into amazing lyrics. He is such a gorgeous person inside and out its unbelievable. You can't get any more real than this.
I love the unintended (I think) metaphor of him starting the song alone, and then the rest of the band joins him and has his back. Especially considering what the song is about.
Guess for everyone wondering why they picked her up out of the crowd it was cause she was having an anxiety attack you can tell by the shaking and you can see that the other trenchers beside her were trying to get the guys attention
I can't wait for them to go on tour again, I am totally going to got to one of there shows. I saw them at Stampede and they were amazing! As if that's a suprize though😁. It seems like no matter what expectations I have for them live, a new song, or video they all exceed it some how. I know how much this song means to not only the fans but Josh as well. It's amazing. I'm sure it is really hard to sing. I dislike the screaming but I kinda understand it. Josh plays with the vocals live and that's what everyone screams at. It takes a lot of work to pull off some of the things he does vocally, well deserving of screams. Just amazing. 😀
@1bookfish I know i love how he's so open about it to his fans and doesn't hide the troubles he's had in his past I cant watch him sing this song without crying now he's so sweet
For all the people saying that the audience needs to quiet down, when you at a concert usually the band is so loud you could scream as loud as you could in someone's ear and they wouldn't be able to hear you. But I do agree that they should be a bit quieter for this particular song out of respect.
@astroboirap They've been around since I was like born. They're fanbase is huge. Also Marianas Trench has saved tons of lives with their music. This song isn't boring. It's one of there best. Josh is the most talented guy alive. He's been doing music since he was 14. His dad owned a record label. He's written and produced songs like Call Me Maybe. Which are famous world wide
this video is so amazing... im actually tearing up a little. thank you so much for putting this up. BTW when u kept zooming out my eye was twitching, its like i was being pulled away from josh lol
choosing music over something very hard to not be addicted to like heroin is a big move but a good choice. props to josh for his work ethic. love the song!
i get people singing, but the people screaming piss me off. especially threw this song or skin and bones. those two are the songs that it's like you just don't scream throughout them.
brittney wispinski amen. Josh has even said it in a show that the crowd he was singing to was perfect, because they would scream after the song then stop perfectly. It was like, scream for two seconds in between songs, stop, then wait till the next song was over and repeat
well, usually when he sings that part, he sings in falsetto (luckily his falsetto is pretty similar to his normal voice) in any case, that time, he forces his voice to go higher by crushing his vocal chords and screaming. not sure if you were actually asking or were marveling at it. either way, easier said than done, takes alot of practice to nail it.
I don't know if it's just me, but I hate it when people scream and cheer during this song, and skin and bones, and actually now forget me not as well. Like it just seems rude to cheer during these songs about really hard times for him.
@blackpolishdiamon OMG yess. I completely understand. I went to see them at the CNE and we couldn't even move our arms half the time. The crowd got soo crazy ! People were pushing and shoving !
@1bookfish I noticed that too! i was there but couldnt quite see to that extent but after watching it on here i was like woah wait! was he actually crying???
I wasn't talking about this song, I was talking about the song I was referencing "ripped jeans, skin was showing" that is lyrics from Call me Maybe...the song that he Co-wrote for Carly Rae Jepsen.
He says its hard to sing. Then how does he sing it so perfectly :') this song is my favourite
Ikr!
Benedict cumberbitch But he's right though. The song is hard, evem for him. The song has a A4 to sing.
Cause he probably dont like to sing really loud to where it strains his voice, cause the last part is kinda rough lol
@@mariaabrunhosa398 and it's about his drug addiction.. which would be hard to say too
Yeah, he does amazing with it. I imagine it would take its toll if he had to sing it every single night while on tour.
guys, NOBODY can appreciate this song unless they understand it. these assholes talking crap are jealous and immature, this song has SAVED people. thats the greatest gift Josh has ever given us. Trenchers
this song has helped to save my life.

my heart hurt from the moment he started..... so much emotion :'(
"so leave me" at 3:32 gets me every time.
I always immediately start crying as soon as he starts singing.

+sarah kahlau yep, couldn't agree more.

He's not just the "singer" he's Josh Ramsay !, lovely lovely josh ramsay
From my experience, it's because she either passed out from standing for 8 hours with no water or she was being unberably crushed by the crowd.

Ohh!! I wish I were there!! And one question: Why at the end a random dude just comes on stage and takes a girl and goes backstage? That was funny!
I wasn't talking about this song, I was talking about the song I was referencing "ripped jeans, skin was showing" that is lyrics from Call me Maybe...the song that he Co-wrote for Carly Rae Jepsen.
What was with the girl being taken to the side of the stage?? luv Josh n Marianas Trench
