They are all masters of their trade and therefore in my opinion are the best band ever to exist. You can’t have a great band without everyone being the best at what they do.
You are spot on with Danny...funny to think he only started playing with the other guys to initially sit in and help out. With a drummer like him...you can't help noticing his drumming. My daughter pointed it out one day....that he is what keeps it all together. The beautiful perfection that is TOOL. On a side note....Maynard is a rock God...as are the other two at their craft. Keep it up yo🤘👏
Its why as a tool fan the music holds so much for so long. you can listen to every album and song and just listen to a different part every time it never gets old. there was another rection channel (cant remember now) but it was 3 people nodding along to 3 different grooves in the same song. and that to me is tool.
Nice reaction! Always love when people react to my favorite band of all time. Just remember that if you ask any Tool fan what their favorite Tool song is, it is the last one we listened to. Check out The Grudge which Danny crushes of course. You won't be disappointed and welcome to the Tool fan family. There is no band that can compare.
When it comes to TOOL, I generally hone in on the rhythm section, because Danny and Justin are just absolute next level. That’s not to take anything away from Maynard or Adam, both are extremely talented...but Danny and Justin are that damn good.
I have a feeling that you're about to fall down the hole for sure. And I love watching people fall down. I've said for decades now that everyone loves Tool, most ppl just don't know it yet. I look forward to your spiral out.. subscribed
You only love Tool of you have a passion for good music. Tool is the best bad in the world; hands down. Their music is still as relevant today as it was back then.
Enjoying the watching you go down the 🐇 hole 😂😂😂 IMO Danny is the best drummer I’ve ever heard. First time you listen, or anytime, you hear it. But the more you listen, the more you hear how phenomenal Adam is on guitar, Justin is on bass, and Maynard is with both his lyrics and using his voice as another instrument.
The amount of ridiculous detail in this song is insane. The vocals follow a mathmatical sequence in number of syllables per line, Danny sets his drumset up in sacred geometry patterns, i mean it just goes on and on. Totally nuts
Awesome stuff bud! Keep pumping the Tool. Enjoying watching your journey with them. No worries at all about the pauses. You have a good head and know music, it's a pleasure to hear your opinions. Cheers!
'To bathe in the fountain' While my mother was on her deathbed; the employees allowed me to bathe in the fountain in the courtyard; because I wouldn't go home. I had missed so much time with her that I stayed there for three weeks. That ⛲ is where I got the word if mom's death.
Somehow you start hearing an instrument first then you catch a groove then the lyrics come and finally you combine them all, the amazing thing of Tool is that the more you listen the song the more you find!. I still hear F.I. and find new nuances, new feelings, new beautiful coincidences between instruments, voice and lyrics
All the things you are describing we all get too! the swaying motion and everything. This song is an exercise in mathematics applied as music. The whole song is made around the GOLDEN RATIO/Fibonacci sequence. The time signatures of the chorus of the song change from 9/8 to 8/8 to 7/8; as drummer Danny Carey says, "It was originally titled 9-8-7. For the time signatures. Then it turned out that 987 was the 16th number of the Fibonacci sequence. So that was cool The syllables Maynard sings in the first verse follow the first six numbers in the pattern, ascending and descending in the sequence 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3. "Black (one), then (one), white are (two), all I see (three), in my infancy (five). Red and yellow then came to be (eight), reaching out to me (five). Lets me see (three)." In the next verse, Maynard begins with the seventh number of the Fibonacci sequence (13), implying a missing verse in between. He descends back down with the following pattern; 13-8-5-3. "As below so above and beyond I imagine (13). Drawn beyond the lines of reason (eight). Push the envelope (five). Watch it bend (three)." The second verse adds the missing line to complete the sequence; "There is (two), so (one), much (one), more and (two), beckons me (three), to look through to these (five), infinite possibilities (eight)." 1-1-2-3-5-8-5-3-2-1-1-2-3-5-8-13-8-5-3 THAT... probably makes it the most perfect song ever made!
Simplistic.. that made me laugh. As a Tool fan I don't know how you can pick a favorite part of a song... everything they do is freaking incredible individually and collectively
For more Carey goodness, react to Ticks and Leeches. For Maynard screams also. But I think a great reaction would be to The Grudge. Like what I'm seeing so far from you, keep it up!
Your question about whether Maynard's done any movie soundtracks -- check out "Passive" by his other band A Perfect Circle (or do a reaction video! 😆). That song was in the movie Constantine many years ago.
Tool was supposed to be on the soundtrack of Private parts with their cover of no quarter but they backed out. Heard lots of different reasons why but I really have no clue.
You don't really have favorites. You have times where you really appreciate Danny's skill on drums, or Justin's riff on the bass. And what you appreciate on each song changes as you keep listening to the music. And even your favorite song on each album changes. And after a while you get so thirsty for more of that sense of discovery, or of unfolding, that you have to live vicariously by watching others discover the music.
🤘🏻 I’ve heard this song hundreds of times and it still amazes me! Simple and complex indeed, you have no idea how complex it really is! Rock on! I love your reactions! If you love transitions, I highly recommend parabol/parabola! It hits like a damn train!
Buddy, I've watched hundreds of Tool reaction videos... And your react and commentary are spot on, you know.... You say what you feel and predict what all Tool fans wanna hear, then your 100% right. Perfect insightful comments. Questions asked to we the Tool Army, would love answers to ourselves. They're a very private band. Bottom line... My favorite reaction in months... And I watch Tool vids daily haha. Hats off to ya brotha. May I add, I'm only half way throu this vids so far. SUBSCRIBED thank you.
An idea for you for a future video, do a two-for-one reaction with the album and live versions of PushIt. Album version first followed by the live Salival version. It is just... incredible!
Here's what you need to know about Tool...and their fans. Tool are above all, amazing musicians, and their music is always different....in so many ways. Tool fans love everything about the above, myself included. They are a ravenous bunch, but they have a lot of collective wisdom to share. Mine... Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned is as good as they get, but it's not their most approachable. Do The Grudge, 46&2, and maybe the trinity (Disposition/Reflection/Triad) first. Then do something like Right in Two...or Descending. Do a once over through Fear Innoculum the album as it's awesome top to bottom. Once you've gotten all that out of the way.....do Third Eye, and then get to Keys/Stoned. Tool is a journey.
Simplistic chords but it's tool's design that makes these sounds so dynamic. From the beginning they've had their own tone and way of constructing these masterful songs that are somehow gripping. If you listen to them enough they'll change the way you hear music.
Wee the tool fans, enjoy the band as a whole. They absolutely complete each other. No one stands out......but... Even still for me, its Jones. I'm a guitarist, so... 😉
I like your reaction videos, man. I stumbled upon your channel while streaming Tool, and I was immediately interested in your take on their music. If you're down for it, I recommend you check out their 10, 000 days album. It's wicked from start to finish!
Damn, I asked you to do lateralus like week ago without knowing you already did it. My bad. Thanks again. I agree to being drawn to the drums cuz they're so technial and difficult. But I'm a drummer so I could be biased. No soundtracks that I know of but one of maynords other groups puscifer might have
i saw tool First comment and first like from me ! for drum cover check Johnkew ! he's killing that 8/8 9/8 7/8 quite well ! and by the way i love transitions too 🤟
Every member and sound is great, but I love when Adam Jones slowly plays with a double stop bend and you get distortion that goes from pulsing quickly to slowly and back. With a flanger it gives this amazing psychedelic lighthouse sound, I don't know how to explain it better. Oh hell yes 15:06 too those pinch harmonics.
To my knowledge Tool have not had a song on a soundtrack (I could well be wrong, but I can't think of any) but "A Perfect Circle" had the absolutely excellent "Passive" on the "Constantine" soundtrack. You should check it out if you haven't.
I'm one of your 5% subscribers, I subbed for Tool. Come on, guys! Come on and subscribe! Give this guy some love! He's doing a great job. But I do recommend reading the lyrics at some point because half the power of the song, if you can believe that given how powerful the music is, but it's true -- *half the power of Tool songs comes from the lyrics*. That applies to the other two bands, too: A Perfect Circle and Puscifer. Hope you continue this journey. Spiral out and take care.
Probably their shortest musical track (as opposed to arty soundscapes) is "Eon Blue Apocalypse", which Adam wrote after his Great Dane Eon Blue, died. Very sombre guitar solo.
Try "Culling voices" for transitions and progressions, then "7empest " for unadulterated guitar porn. Both from the new album. Round it off with their version of Led Zeppelins "No quarter" from the Salival album. Mind meltingly good.
Dude you've gotta check out TOOL - Right in two. You could actually just edit a couple seconds out of the song occasionally, if you don't want to pause. People know where to find it if they want to hear every single second.
I have always thought of Tool as two artists. Since the band makes the music, then Maynard comes in and puts the lyrics to the music. Two artists coming together to make beautiful art. That’s just me though. So I do love it all, music and vocals. Enjoying your reviews keep it up.
Bro if you haven't heard of the band that is Jinjer ya have to check them out. I'm a DieHard tool fan but Jesus Christ Tatiana's vocal range is just ridiculous. The General starting point for Jinger is the Pisces live session
If you want to see drum cams for this and many other Tool songs, check out John Kew here on RUclips. You wont find a better example anywhere. Perfectly transcribed and performed with professional camera angles and edits. Watch one or two of the songs you have already reacted to and see the work and insane timings up close! Peace.
I fixate on danny to tbe point where subconsciously i find mysrlf doing his foot pedsls pefectly. .......I cant drum one bit but that part im perfect lol
Their rhythm section in general is my favorite. Danny and Justin are just phenomenal together
I love how they twisted it for this song. The bass seems to be the lead and Adam keeps the rhythm.
They don’t half-ass anything, and they don’t write simple songs that happen quickly. There is so much effort and design that goes into every track.
Welcome to the world of Tool. Try Parobol/Parabola next. Guarantee you will enjoy it
For me personally Maynard's voice along with the band is perfect in every sense of the word. They are all very talented people
love all band members equally...just like their songs...hard to pick a favorite...love them al..
Does the word Fibonacci mean anything to you yet? Google Fibonacci Song. Welcome to the hole.
🐚yes.
They are all masters of their trade and therefore in my opinion are the best band ever to exist. You can’t have a great band without everyone being the best at what they do.
This is my favorite Tool song out of 30 favorite Tool songs.
Yup so true
Hahaha exactly!!!
Keep it up yo🤘👏
the drums def always seem to be the driving force. what a band Tool is !!! modern day pink floyd not comparing sounds but impact and vibe
Its why as a tool fan the music holds so much for so long. you can listen to every album and song and just listen to a different part every time it never gets old. there was another rection channel (cant remember now) but it was 3 people nodding along to 3 different grooves in the same song. and that to me is tool.
If you pause, you need to rewind and catch the groove again.
Noted thanks for the feedback dude.
Couldn’t agree more
My top 5 song of ANY genre of all time!
The simple complexity of the Fibonacci Sequence as interpreted by Tool... It appears everywhere in Nature... simple complexity.
Perfectly said!!!!
Fibanacci sequence in the words...amazing!! 4, 5, 6, 7, 8...it is crazy!
When it comes to TOOL, I generally hone in on the rhythm section, because Danny and Justin are just absolute next level. That’s not to take anything away from Maynard or Adam, both are extremely talented...but Danny and Justin are that damn good.
A Perfect Circle. Passive was in a movie... Great tune.. lots of great perfect circle songs !!
I have a feeling that you're about to fall down the hole for sure. And I love watching people fall down. I've said for decades now that everyone loves Tool, most ppl just don't know it yet. I look forward to your spiral out.. subscribed

The gong hit at 1432 in this particular video, is absolutely spiritual for me
InkFace their is no other band like this on the planet.
Word!!!
Awesome stuff bud! Keep pumping the Tool. Enjoying watching your journey with them. No worries at all about the pauses. You have a good head and know music, it's a pleasure to hear your opinions. Cheers!
Yes Maynards band A Perfect Circle did the song to the DC conics cult classic Constantine played by Keanu Reeves. The song is called Passive
'To bathe in the fountain'
While my mother was on her deathbed; the employees allowed me to bathe in the fountain in the courtyard; because I wouldn't go home. I had missed so much time with her that I stayed there for three weeks.
That ⛲ is where I got the word if mom's death.
Danny and Justin are the heartbeat of the band. TOOL's sound is perfect in my opinion.

THAT... probably makes it the most perfect song ever made!
Brother I'm Gary from yucca valley, cali ty for being the best tool reactor, amazing, amazing, btw you already know danney carey is the best lol
Simplistic.. that made me laugh. As a Tool fan I don't know how you can pick a favorite part of a song... everything they do is freaking incredible individually and collectively

Your question about whether Maynard's done any movie soundtracks -- check out "Passive" by his other band A Perfect Circle (or do a reaction video! 😆). That song was in the movie Constantine many years ago.
Also, Sweat was in Escape from L.A., and 46&2 was (badly chopped) in the Captain America trailer.
The Outsider was remixed for the credits of the Resident Evil 4 movie does that count also? xD
@@LordSpongy yes it does lol
Tool was supposed to be on the soundtrack of Private parts with their cover of no quarter but they backed out. Heard lots of different reasons why but I really have no clue.
Judith remixed for Underworld
Tool makes more sense when you realize they have a lead drummer and backup guitars.
What I love about Tool is they always build to something, the song moves forward

Danny FUCKING Carey 🤘

Escape from LA had Sweat on the soundtrack. Captain America used 46&2 in the trailer.
I was waiting to see your face at 13:50 with the offbeat section haha. Danny did a video of the Lateralus drumming. Very cool to watch.
Buddy, I've watched hundreds of Tool reaction videos... And your react and commentary are spot on, you know.... You say what you feel and predict what all Tool fans wanna hear, then your 100% right. Nice honest reaction.
Keep doing tool reactions, the Tool Army will come 😁 also, i understand why you pause, its no big deal.
Wow is the correct reaction.
I prefer the compilation of all of them together!
Yeah, Tool is simplistic and hugely complex at the same time. That's what i love in it!
Every Tool song is my favorite
An idea for you for a future video, do a two-for-one reaction with the album and live versions of PushIt. Album version first followed by the live Salival version. It is just... incredible!
This song is my mantra to life keep growing learnibg and experiencing
the band orchestrate themselves whereby the whole band comes through together as one sound. Sound so cultish but it's so true. Complete harmony
Here's what you need to know about Tool...and their fans.
Tool are above all, amazing musicians, and their music is always different....in so many ways.

Sir, I agree with everything you stated in your above comment. Spiral out, my good man!
@@martyanthony3419 Thank you greatly. :)
My friend, you took the words right outta my mouth. Tool is an adventure I think every music lover should take.

The lyrics in this song make you feel like you can be awesome at anything as long as you just keep going!
There is a video of Danny Carey playing this song, not live with the band but at a drummers institute or something like that.
Fibonacci Sequence. Look that up, get a grasp on that, then listen to this song again....and again and again and..... spiral out🤘🏼👁
Soundtracks in UNDERWORLD.
Excellent!
This song is their Magnum Opus
Probably my favorite song on this album... Though it's hard to pick a favorite tool song, which ever tool song is on is my favorite ;)
If I had to pick though, H is a good song. Lol
Check out a band called Gojira-Oroborus
I like your reaction videos, man. I stumbled upon your channel while streaming Tool, and I was immediately interested in your take on their music.
If you're down for it, I recommend you check out their 10, 000 days album. It's wicked from start to finish!
Maynard is the lead vocalist in three bands. TOOL, PUSCIFER and A PERFECT CIRCLE. All incredible bands. Check out all of their DISCOGRAPHIES.
It's a must!
I like how you instinctively knew not to pause during the ending.
best way to explain Tool's music, it's a tsunami of sound that just washes over you
Damn, I asked you to do lateralus like week ago without knowing you already did it. My bad. Thanks again. I agree to being drawn to the drums cuz they're so technial and difficult. "TOOL-7empest" pushed it way past the tool boundaries if length...its a good 15min of rocking😎
There's a liverpool based Tool tribute band called Tool Shed, they are good.
“Has Tool done any soundtracks for movies?” Listen to Aenema for the answer on how they feel about Hollywood...
Yes, Opiate track (Sweat) was in the Escape from LA soundtrack. But I imagine that was the record company's doing. Only one I can think of though.
If you like transitions I think you’d like System of a Down a lot. They have some of the best transitions, and they do it constantly.
Tool and simplistic do not go together in the same sentence... Specially this song!!!
His other bands...A Perfect Circle and Puscifer been featured on the series Yellowstone. Lots of great music on that show!
Tool - H.W.A.P.
Yes it does
Maynard is also in the movie crank 2 high voltage along with another musician. There walking there dogs in a park when stathom runs up on em.
i saw tool First comment and first like from me !
for drum cover check Johnkew ! he's killing that
8/8 9/8 7/8 quite well ! and by the way i love
transitions too 🤟
Johnkew...is amazing
The spiral got you at the end
SPIRAL OUT. KEEP GOING. SUBBED
If you’re a fan of transition...TOOL has perfected that piece. Definitely keeps you listening to those 12min songs.
Yep, it’s always Epic!
I would recommend headphones to get the immersive experience 💚 thanks for the video
Damn, Lateralus tour just about 20 years ago.
To my knowledge Tool have not had a song on a soundtrack (I could well be wrong, but I can't think of any) but "A Perfect Circle" had the absolutely excellent "Passive" on the "Constantine" soundtrack. You should check it out if you haven't.

Thanks for the comment and recommendations much appreciated 🤘
As above, so below 💪💪💪💪💪
InkFace check out lyrics. They are deep and mind blowing.
Maynard probably has least control when it comes to musical progression in the songs, that lies with the other 3.
I have heard tools songs in Resident Evil, Perfect Circle songs in the Matrix and Consatine.
9 minutes, ha; wait till you get to 7empest ( yes, that's how it's spelled!) on their newest album, Fear Inoculum, it's 16 minutes long!
Disposition relection and triad nearly 20 mins
Dude you've gotta check out TOOL - Right in two. You could actually just edit a couple seconds out of the song occasionally, if you don't want to pause. People know where to find it if they want to hear every single second.

The simple-complicated is the Fibonacci sequence. Sure that's been mentioned a dozen times already.

Yes every video apart from 1 I uploaded last night has been struck it's tough at minute cheers Dan.
