Right here is why Nick Collins has earned my love, respect and admiration. He always have and always will put Andy’s happiness before his. As mentioned by many others before me, this was the only consistent part in the finale. It was painful to watch..
I didn't see him crying, knew he was sad, of course, but Sam and Andy are their own worst enemies. They love each other beyond reason, with their hearts and souls, you don't fight that and win.
Andy settled for Nick because she thought Sam didn't love her, She found out, he loved her so much that he would give his life for her. He was willing to give up the force which he loved almost as much as her, if that isn't love, I don't know what is, other than holding the bomb with her, which he died if she died, both while telling her he loved her. That's my version of love.
aw this last scene almost broke my heart!!! my heart went out for Nick when I saw tears in his eyes, deep in inside he knows Andy is still in love with Sam.
It was so sweet that he let her go to sam. Like that shows he is noble. When he tried to hold it in when he walked away taking off his vest. you can see he is hurting , but trying to keep it in check. it is the way i tried not let people see me upset. and I was like “no…no!! You could not help but cry, Nick was so sad and so noble to encourage Andy go see Sam. Andy and Nick were so open with each other I hope they do not pass over their goodbyes in season 5 and have Sam and Andy go on with their lives and not address Nicks feelings. I am not sure if I am watching season 5 if these issues are not address in the first episode.

I agree, I think Sam had a messed up childhood and he doesn't feel like he deserves someone as loving as Andy. Hence why he screwed it all up! They have been great since Season 1, they're why I started watching and continued to watch!!
I'm sorry for Nick but he knew Andy loves Sam...Sam and Andy love each other. This scene was so emotional and intense even Missy the actress that plays Andy McNally said it was very hard for her to do the last scenes of the finale which are these that are seeing. Now i see why.... She said It was very gut-wrenching.
This was great still I have huge hope and faith about Andy and Sam. They will reunion. They deserved this IMO. Finally this is the payment of Nick as well because he dumped Gail twice, I know Gail cheated him but he also did the same thing emotionally. Anyway team McSwarek
I was so pissed that the writers ever paired Andy with Nick in the first place!! It's pretty clear that the way they pair Andy and Sam together over the seasons, that no matter what they will always end back together (soul mates)!!! Nick is such a great guy, and I loved him with Andy as friends only!! He deserves to be happy, but nothing compares to Andy and SAMs epic relationship!!!!!!
Wow, there is so much passion between Sam and Andy, Nick and Andy are friends, they kiss like friends, they act like friends, not like lovers. Nick needs someone else for him, hopefully, if he stays, there will be someone else.
I'm a McSwarek through and though, but I do feel bad for Nick. At the same time though he knew what he was getting himself into. Andy was never IN LOVE with Nick. I think se cared about him and at the time, he's what she needed but her heart has always belonged to Sam. Even in last weeks episode Andy told Chloe that her and Nick were just friends. Nick obviously felt it a lot more than she did.
Totally agree Danielle. Nothing worth having is ever easy. The ambulance scene says it all. There is a deep love and connection between Sam and Andy. Andy's heart is not fully in the relationship with Nick but she does care for him, as a friend.
sam got shot while he was trying to stop ford. he had no gun he was not even wearing a vest, but still he tought that andy and nick in a serious trouble and he tried to protect them. Do you really think that sam is a selfish guy? He is very brave and at the same time as bottom line of the series says he is a good guy. selfless:)
Sam's a selfless man. The one time SAM was selfish was when he broke up with Andy because he was scared of love, but sometimes you have to think of yourself.
Again, if you watched the show from the beginning, Sam always had Andy's heart and soul, they had each other from the minute they said hello, even when she was dating Luke, Andy had eyes for Sam, and he stayed away, told her Luke was a good guy, until he cheated on her.
I have watched from the first episode as well and I felt everything between Andy and Sam from the beginning. I don't want to see them as separated no more.
I love Nick. He is a great guy....BUT....He knew that Andy was still stuck on Sam when he confessed his feelings to her!!! He knew what he was getting himself into. My heart hurts for him cos its obvious that he fell in love with Andy. But her heart is with Sam. Sam is her love story!
i toattly agree suzette. we ve eatched sam and andy for four seasons and theyve both made mistakes but they always had this connection that cannot be broken by anyone or anything. sam wants her happiness more then anything even if it means shes happy with nick he would let her go and be unhappy if he knew she was happy. i think sam really needed to hear what andy said in the ambulance, i think he always may have felt he was unworthy and now he knows she has never felt more loved then by him.

I think he is going to sacrifice his life, like give an organ of his own to Sam and he is going to die. Or it could be Chloe as the match. Can't wait an entire year to figure out who is going to die. They said nobody dies in season 4 but a cliffhanger like that is just another reason to kill off a great character. Uggh
I love Sam and Andy!!! They belong together. However sadly I do not think the writers are going to put them together right off the back in season 5. I think that the writes many run with story line where Andy blames herself for Sam getting shot. After a lot of the situations with Sam and Andy have been life or death, look at 4x02. Anyway I think Andy blaming herself for Sam getting will have her continue to be with Nike and force Sam to standup and fight for Andy and not just physically but emotionally and him express it...which would be nice because we have not seen Sam talk about his feeling that much in all of the 4 seasons particularly to Andy, which he has share next to nothing. Bottom line Sam and Andy belong together. Always have and always will. Nick is a nice guy, but he just does not belong with Andy.
in my opinion,Nick should not want to be with Andy after realizing she still has feelings for Sam because it'd just make him realize she just wanted to be with him due to Sam being with Marlo

Name of the entire season was "Change or die". 2 options. During the seasons, Sam generally refused to change he was not open and as he said in his webisode it's taking time for him to say what he is feeling/thinking. At the end of the season he was very close to die. Of course he will survive. After that I believe we will see the "new Sam". He will probably more open, more gentle and he will fight for Andy. He will understand that his life is also very important. No second chance! (1/2)
What I am saying is that, these two relationships are not comparable. Andy seems happy with her relationship with Nick, but is that all she really need? We need to check her feelings and especially her feelings showing that she still loves Sam. Actually we should stop discussing "shot scene" because the writers already decided to shot Sam, not Nick. i think he takes his vest off so he can breathe...he`s not hurt, not physical. in the episode before, nick wrotes something in the vest, because that`s his war-tradition..i´m almost sure he includes andy in his pray. They`ve got kevin ford and now at least this threat is over and he turns off the fight-and-protect-mode. that`s just my thought. i don`t wanna think about what his teary eyes mean for mccollins.
I love Andy & Nick together they complement each other :) Sam & Andy have amazing chemistry but the relationship isn't equal Andy is always looking for approval from Sam and Yes Andy seems much more carefree and happy with Nick #McCollins x
Yes, from finale. Again we see here why Sam & Andy are soulmates, even despite all that has happened, and both were at fault. I like Nick but he was only 'friends with benefits' for Andy. She made that clear. Even whilst UC, she showed no attraction or interest in Nick, cos she was still not over Sam. Watch the 'stare' scene in S4 x1, to see the connection and feelings after not seeing each other for months. Sam loves Andy and Andy loves Sam, they know that and we have always known it
In my opinion, she loves one of them. We know that at the same time 2 different romance cannot be placed in a heart. One of the guys is just in her heart. She really loves him deeply. The other guy is also important for her. She shows care about him. But his name is not the love.

Honestly, sam and andy's story is the epic one, it doesn't mean they always have to be with each other, it doesn't mean they can't like and love other people, and it doesn't mean their relationship is the most healthy or functional, all it means is that when push comes to shove neither of them will be able to find a relationship that compares to the intensity or depth of the andy/sam relationship. Knowing the writers, they are still a ways away from reunion.
If they don't put sam and Andy break together in S5, I'm gonna scream, especially how they practically declared their love for each other. Andy says sorry to nick because she knows that its over between them too because he knows she still loves Sam and for him to be gracious about it by telling her to go see him, was nicks way of saying ' I know it's over'. That's why he was crying. I'm McSwarek all the way but what nick did made me cry. It was so big of him. End game is always McSwarek
I've watched from the beginning & I love Sam & Andy together, the writers have worked hard to make us root for them & to show us that they have an epic connection. Even in S4 Andy only didn't fight for Sam because she started to like Marlo & didn't want to cause hurt for her, thats doing the decent thing. I actually felt quite sick watching this from the moment Andy tells Nick she's sorry up to when Nick sat down and closed his teary eyes. I read Charlotte Sullivan's interview about this episode before I watched this where she said it is "gut-wrenching". She was totally right. Poor Nick :(

That was unexpected on my part. I love the idea of Sam and Andy but, why did they have to wait so long. I am pissed right now because Andy and Nick were only just beginning. It was exciting to see Sam respond with pure jealousy when he seen Andy moving on with Nick. They're both in love with her and next season I really hope they both try to win her heart. Even though we all know who the obvious pick would be. All I am saying is it would be something new and something to look forward to.

Sam knows that Nick is the better guy for her....he's more stable and he genuinely loves and cares for her. That's why Sam said he couldn't be around anymore and I think thats why he stopped Ford from shooting Nick...for Andy's sake. But Nick knows that Andy is still in love with Sam. So this could go either way. Sam might not let her be with him bc he knows Nick is better for her and Nick might not let her pass up Sam bc he knows she truly loves him. She loves them both but in different ways.

I actually felt quite sick watching this from the moment Andy tells Nick she's sorry up to when Nick sat down and closed his teary eyes. I read Charlotte Sullivan's interview about this episode before I watched this where she said it is "gut-wrenching". She was totally right. Poor Nick :(
She went in the ambulance because she loves him, not because someone went in the ambulance. Nick is her friend, not her love, he was a diversion, Sam has her heart and soul.

Ooh poor Nick!! I feel so sorry for him! This sudden Andy realizing Sam is her story-thing, doesn't feel right to me... I love Andy and Nick!!!! I used to love Sam and Andy, but then I saw a whole new Andy when she was with Nick and Nick was so, so, soo happy with Andy... I don't want them apart already!! He told the woman he loves to go see her ex/ story, to me, that sounds like the best boyfriend ever! And why won't I stop crying? Please, I need Mccollins......

If something happened where sam needed an organ and nick was compatible and nick dies to save sam bc he knows that andy and him belong together I will cry for a very long time next season.

If you were Nick, would you really take her back? I mean he'd have to swallow a hell of a lot of pride to get over this one. And he doesn't even know what she said in the ambulance... I definitely couldn't carry on if I was him, their relationship just doesn't compare...

That was unexpected on my part. I love the idea of Sam and Andy but, why did they have to wait so long. I am pissed right now because Andy and Nick were only just beginning. It was exciting to see Sam respond with pure jealousy when he seen Andy moving on with Nick. They're both in love with her and next season I really hope they both try to win her heart. Even though we all know who the obvious pick would be. All I am saying is it would be something new and something to look forward to.
I was really rooting for Nick. He's so much better for Andy than Sam. He's such a noble person. I wonder what'll happen with him if Sam and Andy get back together.

The end is so sad.Nick's teary eyes makes me crie.I'm not stick to McCollins or McSwarek.Both are great in their own way.I think that right now nick is good for andy.I hope the writers give them a chance instead using nick as a gap-filler.
Sam knows that Nick is the better guy for her....he's more stable and he genuinely loves and cares for her. That's why Sam said he couldn't be around anymore and I think thats why he stopped Ford from shooting Nick...for Andy's sake. But Nick knows that Andy is still in love with Sam. So this could go either way. Sam might not let her be with him bc he knows Nick is better for her and Nick might not let her pass up Sam bc he knows she truly loves him. She loves them both but in different ways.
Sam wasn't fighting for her, he was telling her to go be happy with Nick
I felt so bad for nick in this scene I felt his pain I love Andy & nick together but I really hoped they would show nick's vest see what he had write on it
