2001 was his best statistical year. But people mistake “Prime”. This may have been his physical prime. But Prime means when your Mental and Physically meet. That would put his prime during those New Jersey years. 05-09 was the best VC. Great vid as usual 💯🔥
Peak Vince Carter was a top 5 player in 00/01 & definitely NBA's best offensive player. People have to remember that Vince played in a much tougher defensive environment compared to the current NBA. I mean, things like hand-checking still existed. - #2 in PER - #1 in OBPM - #2 in BPM - #3 in VORP - #3 in OWS - #5 in WS. Obviously these numbers are all 100% box-score derived and are hardly gospel, but he was an extremely efficient player due to a ridiculously low turnover rate. His 8.2% TOV rate was the 3rd lowest in the ENTIRE NBA & strong scoring efficiency (55.1% TS against a league average of 51.8%). His +3.3 rTS would be equivalent to a 59.3 TS today (except he'd be taking more threes so that's probably understating things). He had a 114 ORTG against a league average of 103 (+11). His impact metrics are quite excellent, too. +11.6 on/off, and #12 in the league in RAPM (with many of the guys ahead of him either playing far few minutes, playing a much smaller role, or both) Good passer. Decent defender. Incredible scorer. Shot 41% from three on five attempts a game before it was cool. Godly Jordan-eqsue ability to take of the ball. Put him in a league with no hand-checking and much better spacing and he's only going to look better. Peak Vince is easily a top5ish player in today's NBA.
Umm no u must be clueless... he was slow when he was jersey. Vince's prime was in TO when had speed and the sky was the limit. Vince carried the raptors. In jersey he had Kidd and Jason Richardson and wasnt consistently bringing it like he was in Toronto. He could still dunk but he wasnt running past defenders like he was in Toronto
I agree, VC did carry TO. But mentally and skill wise NJ he was better. The gap mentality/skill was greater in NJ to Tor. Then the physical gap of TO to NJ. 01 was peak athlete VC. Only a handful of players even come close. But as a complete player. Jersey VC was more of a complete player.
This year was the year the entire basketball world took him cor more than just a dunker. He was unstoppable . Nobody could slow him down. Hell I seen him tear up every top defensive perimeter player their was this season. This season and 05-06 were his best all around seasons imo
I have not seen many of these dunks before. I don't think even NBA has these highlights in their archives. I am going to miss VC after this season. Well done Max!
I don't see anybody doing this in the NBA now a days consistently.... Watching this videos makes me wanna play again and dunk on people.... Good job max
This is my favorite version of VC. So smooth, so much style. Everything looked effortless. And a damn pretty jumpshot too. Also I woulda had no problem with this vid being an hour long and add in all the replays of every dunk haha
VC 2001 360 All-Star game dunk is his most overlooked dunk ever. One of his best dunk ever. He passed great Kobe, with 2-step, he did a 360 (looks like 540 )dunk in the baseline in the crowd. Who in history can execute this dunk the way he did? This was in the era that players actually defend their opponents in the All-Star game.
The way he executes every dunk even a simple put in dunk is badass. Thank you Max btw for uploading VCs dunk each year. It shows how VC was also an excellent one legged jumper. But today i’ll say the best legged dunker would be Zach Lavine but GOAT NBA Dunker still is Vince Carter.
Man those Toronto teams used to be so trash. He was literally the only reason why I watched Raptors games back in the early 2000s. There is no way that he could maintain the explosiveness he had during his first 3-4 years in the league but his regression athletically lead to him expanding and maturing his game in New Jersey.
This is the season with most dunks of his own. It's a pity that he no longer competed that number of dunks and the rising star began to fall after this season. Damn the injuries, we could have seen a much better VC with more achievements rather than anticipation.
Perhaps you’ll have a change of heart when you see his 5 years of excellent (and healthy) play in New Jersey. And as far as dunking, 06 and 07 dunking reels are quite long too.
@@MaxaMillion711 From my view, his days with Toronto are the days he had best physical condition. It's obvious he had excellent years with New Jersey, offensive skills improved and versatile, still one of the top players in the league. But I mean what he would have become if no such injuries occurred in 01-02.
Of course year 4 and 5 were robbed due to injuries. But bouncing back to 27ppg in 05 with nets and then all star years in 06, 07, and 09 (should’ve been an all star) were IMO his best years. Just because you’re more athletic and dunking more doesn’t equate to being the best version of yourself. A lot of people in 09 said that was his best all around season, being a smarter player, being a leader, and still being an elite scorer.
still remember that injury vs san antonio in 02 that fucked his knee up....he was having another mvp year too...raps were like 12 over .500 at that point too
@@MaxaMillion711 Agreed, undeniable fact that he had his second career peaks in New Jersey. No doubt better and more mature than in 2001. I just can't help imagining given his talent and basketball IQ how good he could have been without early injuries.
@TheRealist 811 Peak VC was only a missed jumpshot from eliminating 76ers in the playoffs. AI had a HOF coach in Larry Brown, DPOY-winner in Dikembe Mutumbo & 6MOTY-winner. VC never had that kind of support around him lol.
@TheRealist 811 Mutombo was still class at 35 years old. The 76ers were a well-built team around AI. T-Mac was a bench warmer & Bogues/Oakley/Curry weren't exactly great. VC played in a trash franchise, but he was better than AI. Of course, AI had a better career but that's a different story.
This was his best year in the league so early. This is why it's kind of disappointing when he could have been a Goat B right with Kobe behind Jordan and LeBron.
@@MaxaMillion711 He was smarter, but not as hungry. He settled for too many jump shots that he could have gotten anytime he wanted. That's the difference between 55 fg% and 45%, and you could just see him going through the motions not hustling etc. He always had amazing talent though.
So he did only 2 windmills in the entire season? And so much dunk with 1 foot? Gosh, I didn't expet that :D. But hey, I guess in 99-2000 he's done like 20 windmills, I need to watch and see.

exactly, he was mvp candidate that year

Got to love clippers bench player reaction at 2:52

8:31 this dude did a honey dip in a game 🤯
NO..ONLY ALMOST..
so much flair, finess, power, tenacity, poetry in VC dunks.. and that swag tho.. only VC can do that.. GOAT dunker in NBA

That alley pop windmill in the end. It's breathtaking. There will never be another Vince.

wow, thanks! prob one of the greatest single seasons of dunking in nba history!
Better than the Lebron?
had more lightness and air that year than the previous two years when he dunked harder and heavier.
I bet we never got a chance to see vinces craziest freestyle dunks that were done during practices and maybe pick up games
AMAZING! My favourite VC season!
I wish they had HD cameras back then. This is unreal in game dunking.
At 10 minutes exactly, he put his arm in the net in a regular season game! UNBELIEVABLE!
This is the best VC season..

I am following your channel since day one and boy, you still have the best content on YT! keep it up

Yeh. But Lavine can't dunk under basket
This video only proves the point that VC is the greatest dunker ever.
He turned Charles Oakley into a great ally-oop passer nuff said☝🏽
super cool. so many one leg dunks I haven't seen!
2:52 look at the bench's reaction. He is not even Vince Carter's teammate.😂😂😂
Thank you Max!
8:31 man that ingame elbow dunk omg!
How unlucky we are for not being able to watch this human highlight man in real uhd quality.
Phantom cam on every dunk....
Another banger! Are u going to be doing this up until the 2020 season!?! I have a feeling you are and I'm not complaining 🙏🙏
Yes! Every season!
We need to see the replays from some of these!
I thought I saw all vc dunks... thank you Max !
He Made fall in love with NBA at like 5 seeing them dunk's my older brother u to watch of him
Pure gold, I miss this. And NBA today? I will not be sorry at all if China ban NBA someday.
Lovin the vc highlights max!
Greatest dunker of all time
Vince was on a mission this season

Absolutely sensational ❤️🔥👌💯💎🏆🙏
Another page in Vinceclopedia! Legacy!
VC with the SHOX BB4💯🔥
PRIME VC 00-01
7:38 wow, he dunked against like 3 players....
Imagine how cool it is for Vince to look at himself.
he dunks on people as easily as i drink a glass of water..
Wow...
Amazing...
4:17 , Geez he got high there
Nice job man 👍
Vince Carter displayed true alpha male behavior. I'm glad he never made any bad decisions that would result in injury.
Best dunker

Shox BB4 with black socks didn't fit the home-court jersey. Always looked a bit weird.
wouldve broke the internet
the 1 dislike came from the rim.
That last dunk.....
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee :D
Peak VC was NBA's best offensive player at that time.
@TheRealist 811 VC was better, AI had a superior team behind him.

Kobe was a better in game dunker to me than vince
Even kobe would disagree to that comment dude! No one can hold a candle to VC when it comes to dunking... in game or contest...
